  1. If you're trying to get into HMFP's then it's going to depend on the healer in your group as much as what your stats are. A good player with low stats with a good healer will be fine. The keys are to NOT try to pull to much - use group CC's if available, be proactive w/ cd's and always ensure you're healer is ready.
  2. Good writeup for those that do not know the difference between the classes. Thanks for educating and sharing the knowledge.
  3. Powertech PVP is very viable. As a Powertech tank my role is more support and of course of a tank. I help guard healers and dps while putting out some dmg and debuffs. To help you understand how shielding works in PVP I'd suggest checking out Taugrims writeup... check it here: http://taugrim.com/2012/01/19/understanding-swtors-avoidance-and-mitigation-mechanics-for-tanks-in-pvp/
  4. Awesome vid, Taugrim. Thanks for all the work and time put into it.
  5. A good Powertech (which I am) is more about support... guard, taunts - single and aoe and jet charge while a Merc is more about Dmg. Just depends on you're play-style. As a Powertech the most dps I've put out has been around 160k however in a situation like that we won the warzone. Just depends on your approach.
  6. Get a job = get better computer? Srsly though, just sounds like a situation where the only option is a hardware upgrade. Or software if you don't have the most updated drivers avail. Like the previous posters suggested as well... lowering the graphical settings will help. Quite a lot of serious pvp'ers use the lowest settings just to ensure they can have the quickest connection.
  7. Not upset by the current system. Simply makes it important to actually put some thought into the character and everything. No offense to the OP or anything, I simply think it's a sweet system and reinforces the fact that making game decisions matter.
  8. About half the time I do this it doesn't work. The other half of the time I get it and it's so beautiful... every time I execute it perfectly I thank Bioware for making a tank class which I love to PVP with. I care not what people think... when done correctly and efficiently it just emphasizes the point that we're bad@ss. Srsly though, it's just using our abilities to best we can and most of all the people complaining are just those who know they don't have the proper situation awareness to either NOT get Grappled or how to react. Bounty Hunters... UNITE. We shall continue to rock.
  9. Yeah. I can understand that. I think there should be something in the tooltip which indicates it however.
  10. This may have already been brought up since I didn't check but I had to post about this... does anyone notice Shoulder Slam not procc'ing in PVP? Since this is a very high dmg attack I'd love to couple it with an electro dart/grapple and uppercut however it never proc's or is active at any point for me. I can confirm that it does work in PVE as well. Anyone know about this or see a specific reason why this is not supposed to work in PVP?
  11. Very sweet.. nice and clean and easy to read. Good luck to you and the blog, will stay tuned.
  12. D/FW area... specifically Rockwall, checking in. Sup all!
  13. Agree with everyone, excellent guide. Thanks for the work put in.
