  1. I think the whole alt issue could be solved by doing the following: 1) Pick a single alt at the start of the run. Doesn't matter if you have 900 alts, pick ONE. 2) Declare it to the others at the start of the Ops. "Hey guys, I am maxed out on SW gear, so I will not be rolling need for SW. However, I will be rolling need on tank BH gear. " 3) If people rage, offer to bring your undergeared BH to the Ops group and watch the fireworks. That's a single, simple switch. One to One. On the other hand, rolling need on every alt you have? Eff that. Kick 'em.
  2. In the case of other games, you could be right, but in the case of SWTOR, I respectfully disagree. The problem with an expansion like this is that any reveal worth its weight could be spoilerish. If Bioware had come out before 2.7 and said 'Hey, for 3.0 what do you guys think of Manaan?' or 'Hey remember the Star Forge?' then everyone would have figured out what was going to happen, and in an MMO whose primary purpose is storytelling, that's bad news. Since KOTOR is basically the bible for this game, you can't have hints of a Revan expansion without someone figuring out that it's a Revan expansion. I will give that they could drop some hints about what's coming, such as a screenshot of a new ability, or maybe a screenshot of a space battle of some sort. However, there's a fine line between 'OMG SPOILERS' and 'THIS IS SUCH CRAP THIS DOESN'T TELL US ANYTHING. Bioware made the correct choice in staying away from it. Dropping a couple of vehicles or gear won't get anywhere either, as we get new stuff like that all the time in the CM. Most people simply won't give a damn, so what do you do?
  3. All I have to say is.... Cripes on a candlestick. I knew I was bad but this just makes me sad.
  4. Here's what I would like: 1. Republic Spawner. 2. Imperial Spawner. 3. The ability to sign up as one of two (or more...) Teams. Bam. Instant User-Created Warzone.
  5. Well, you have to also take a few things other than 'Hood Toggle' into effect. (I know I'm off track from OP) Here's (In My Opinion) what would be needed for Hood Toggle (I'm NOT a professional video game programmer, admittedly, so I may be a little off base). 1. The Class Construction (Server). The base class itself would be relatively simple: Class called via incoming data stream from The Hook. If the hood is up, put it down, if the hood is down, put it up. 2. The User Interface. (Client) Art work needed to add button or checkbox. Modification of (At the minimum) Character UI class. Said changes can't bug out any existing UI scope. Want it optionally keybindable? Need to script in a keybinding piece that lets you do this. 3. The Hook. (Client-Server Communications) Add appropriate XML / json / etc. to the data stream. Data stream to/from server can't interfere with anything else. This would need heavy testing. 4. The Armor Artwork. This is the kicker. Let's take Every. Single. Hood. and change the artwork so that it doesn't display on the top of the head (HoodUp), but behind the head (HoodDown). You just doubled the existing Jedi Hood Robes artwork and database classifications. Doubled it. We could take the easy route and make the hood disappear (to save some time), but you still doubled it. 5. The Animations. This might(?) not be necessary. I don't know how the Jedi robes work with actions and animations (I honestly don't really pay much attention). So you have (depending on how BioWare is set up) 4 or 5 different departments needed to work on this. It would probably be easier to do something akin to a phased roll out. (Where anything in the future is toggle-able, we'll get to the stuff in the past as time permits) This phased roll out MIGHT BE possible in a week or two with dedicated resources, but if BioWare released something like this, I guarantee you people will cry havoc.
  6. I would like to see it return, but not on Tatooine anymore. I mean, the first time it happened it changed Tatooine's landscape. The Stardream literally crashed into the planet and it's still there to this day. Them just saying 'oh, the Stardream crashed there... again!! In that exact same spot, with that exact same cargo...' and having the exact same event happen would just be lazy. Now, that being said, if they, say... decided to start it in the dead middle of Voss-Ka, and it turned out it was a deranged mystic that got their hands on the plague? Now we're talking. Whatever route they take I do think it would be cool if it permanently altered the landscape like the first event did. That in my opinion was very cool.
  7. For Mindless entertainment: DPS. Me hit stuff good. Bad guy make dead. Tanking is also really fun when you have a good group together. With a not so good group though... it's a lesson in patience. That might just be because I'm a terribad tank though.
  8. I don't believe this is indicative of people who thought the game was bad per say. Anyone who's in the MMO industry knows that the first 1 - 3 months of subs shouldn't be a staple as to how many people will actually play. Some players don't see MMOs as long term commitments, they see them as any other games, in the same boat as the latest Call of Battlefield: Medal of Duty incarnation. Play it for a bit, get to max level, move on to the next game. I think saying 1 million people left simply because the game was bad is an overstatement. Now, keep in mind that I am NOT inherently disagreeing with you. A lot of people left because of problems with the game, but you're using the same tactic that many people try and do to prove their point; inflation and oversimplification. It's something we all do, and I'm no different, so I don't want you to think I'm attacking you. How many out of those million players left because the game was bad? Who knows. But I highly doubt all 1 million+ did
  9. I actually enjoy space missions from time to time. They remind me of StarFox or Rogue Squadron and I played the **** out of both of those games. The only thing I'll always hope for is there being a boss fight at the end of each of them, because why not? Space Flashpoints would be fun too, but I have a feeling that would just be pure chaos. Finally, I do have a feeling that if BioWare just put out a 3d map and just let players dogfight it out 8 vs 8 or even 16 vs 16 it would make so many people happy. The map wouldn't even have to have a lot of detail. BioWare: 'Here, Have some stars. Go Kill each other' Players: 'YES!'
  10. I'm a subscriber to this game, and I don't plan on breaking that, I really like this game. I've also purchased a good bit of Cartel Coins because, well, what can I say, I have a few extra dollars to burn from time to time. That being said, my friends are all free to play and they're not in the same situation that I'm in. You're talking about super casual who struggle to make ends meet while in school and also with a kid kind of friends. The kind were even $5 can't be justified because it pays for food and diapers. Simply put, I want to gift some Cartel Coins to them, so they can unlock some parts of the game when they get around to it. Let them do whatever they want with it. Yet right now it doesn't look like that's a possibility. It would be awesome if Bioware could add something like this, even if only a few people are going to use it. Not sure if this was already posted. If it was, sorry!
  11. Darth Baras: I CAN'T BREAK HIM!!! Sith Warrior: Nice lungs!
  12. There should definitely be breaks. Last year I took a 10 minute break every hour and a half or so.
