  1. Rules are changed all the time because of exploits/workarounds. Any system that rewards actually just quitting on one race in order to get the jump on people who aren't quitters is not a legitimate system, and the rules should be changed after the fact to reflect that. Strict adherence to a loophole in the poorly written original rules is foolish when it results in an outcome entirely against the spirit of the competition. It's pretty absurd that this is even a discussion, if a fight is possible but insanely difficult, why would you reward those who gave up earlier, in any way?
  2. Good job on 16%, I'm sure the "pro guilds" with flawless dps won't believe you though, since this encounter is mathematically impossible, and if you got to 16% that actually sounds completely doable, for the reasons you illustrated.
  3. We've got to Kelsara with both tanks attacking Heirad in phase 1. I'm not sure why people are making a bunch of excuses for why they can't do this. We also have a Marauder, so it's not as if we just don't have another melee there. What KBN has been saying about tanks attacking the boss is 100% doable. If your tanks aren't attacking the boss, you're just giving up DPS for some amount of *survivable* damage. To the overall topic though, I think it's pretty clear that this fight has an unintentionally short enrage timer. It isn't comparable to any other enrage in the game, it's the second boss in the instance, and it's in what is probably the most mechanically-intensive fight so far. Would not surprise me if Bioware increased the HP of the bosses but forgot to adjust the Enrage properly to compensate. Is it 'mathematically impossible'? Well, that depends on what limits you're putting on all the different variables. Like others have pointed out, it's probably doable with certain raid comps (4 slingers/snipers), having RNG go your way, etc. It's very likely that it *is* mathematically (and definitely practically) impossible for *most* group compositions, though. It's not as if the dps specs in this game are actually balanced or anything, and usually the developers give some wiggle room in even the hardest operations to account for this. I for one am pretty confident they should (and will) nerf it. And yes, even increasing an enrage timer is a nerf, obviously. Having a tight (but not unrealistic) enrage timer on this fight would be great, because it would require you to maximize DPS in an encounter that requires a lot of movement/situational awareness. The more accustomed you get to the rhythms of the fight the more efficient your output becomes. Hopefully when they nerf it they won't go too far the other direction and make the enrage timer a non-issue.
  4. That's not a workaround, because you could have got rewards on *every* character.
  5. The same ultimate comms (5, big deal), 2 mass manipulation generators, and 4 equalizers. They did this same crap when they updated the quest for Explosive Conflict a long time ago.
  6. So it looks like they've done it again and added extra rewards to the story missions for a lot of operations. And, since you can only do those missions once, if you finished them before you're just stuck with the awful rewards you got at the time. When they do this kind of retro-fitting of the story mission rewards they should really open them up to everyone again, instead of penalizing all of us who do the story missions when they're available, not waiting until they decide to give everyone else more rewards. I mean, it's only a few million credits worth of mats, I guess they can't be bothered.
  7. Matrix cubes haven't been close to BIS for any class for any reason for a long, long time. Only casuals that are uneducated or lazy still use them.
  8. I love that this random Cybertech RE issue got some dev attention, yet tons of other Reverse Engineering (and augment slot) problems haven't gotten any. Whoever is in charge of crew skill balancing/QA is just doing an awful, awful job.
  9. Used my Sorcerer in Madness spec to test, just using a Conqueror Relic of Serendipitous Assault. The Power Surge buff definitely procs independently on damage and heals, although the buff itself doesn't stack, which means you can only have the Power Surge buff from each relic running once at a time. This looks interesting in the logs, as it'll say: "X gains Power Surge." But then it might take 7+ seconds to lose Power Surge, which is a result of the relic proc'ng again for heals/damage, whichever the initial buff didn't proc from. The end result is that you will definitely have the Power Surge buff running more than 6 seconds out of every 20 seconds on average if you are doing damage and healing together, though it's not exactly twice as often, because there will inevitably be overlaps where the 2nd proc refreshes the first buff before it finished.
  10. The Elite/Ultimate Commendation vendors sell Black Market/Verpine gear for Elite/Ultimate comms, which all have bad (low secondary stat, high endurance) enhancements. This means if you want to min/max your gear, you have to either get lucky with random operation drops (which in my experience are usually crit-heavy, or accuracy/alacrity for tank enhancements), or use precious Arkanian/Ultimate gear tokens (from ops), which often requires buying the same piece multiple times, wasting the armoring (if your class is lucky enough to even have a single piece with a BIS enhancement, otherwise you don't even get a mod out of it). I understand that the intent in 2.0 was to punish commendation grinders and not allow them to ever get BIS gear, but I think that is accomplished well enough by having set bonuses be exclusively obtained through operations. Good enhancements should be obtainable from Elite/Ultimate commendations, either separately like the PVP enhancement vendor, or with not purposefully awful gear at the individual vendors.
  11. Are you also going to fix the Reverse Engineering of crafted Orange pieces (and give them the correct Augment slot based on their level)? Currently, this is absurdly backwards, as not only can you not RE crafted orange pieces for Augment Kit Components, but when you do end up critting on the craft, the orange item may not even have the correct Augment Slot, which defeats the entire purpose. For example, a level 54 orange knife critting with an Augment Slot 7 instead of 9 as it should.
  12. Is there some reason why none of the Cartel Reputation gear itself is Binds to Legacy, like every other Reputation vendor? It's a lot of effort to get to Legend, and then 6 Certificates on top of that, and you get a crown on 1 character that you can never transfer to another.
  13. Actually, by allowing respec'ng in warzones you penalize the pure dps classes because they can't switch to hardcore defense mode. As a result, you really don't want more than 2 total of the pure dps classes if you want to have any kind of versatility in respec'ng, and probably not even that.
  14. Corporate defender, ho! People schedule things around raiding and the game they pay for actually being available. If you hadn't completely ignored this whole thread to jump to the defense of the people paid not to make idiotic mistakes, you may have appreciated that. The reason complaints are necessary is so that the people who make the mistakes can know which things they should probably pay more attention to, and try NOT to screw up in the future. It's called feedback, and it's kind of important. Oh, and everyone knows that the length of downtime is an estimate, and the many times it has gone OVER the estimated time is not a real cause for complaint either, but giving people accurate information about when they can expect to play the game they pay for is. Do you need any more help with your eyes?
