  1. Guess we met the same Vanguard... Bottom line and I agree with one thing here, I came back after playing loads of PVP pre F2P, just to realize PVP is still nowhere near balanced 1 year after launch. I hardly cry about situations I ****ed up, or I couldn't counter XYZ, but with PVP being one of the only constantly available end game happenings, I wonder how long Bioware thinks they have to get this in line. Also this will get worse with 55 as the new cap.
  2. The idea is to keep you busy even if you have got 6 50s... What makes you think you will only have 1 55 then? You can alt your way to 55 with all of them, less appealing if no personal storyline I agree. That being said, I do agree with the scepticism to the level cap increase. I don't think it was a smart move in the first expansion, and I sincerely hope they do not just "raise" old content(or even gear), even though that would save them somehow in the endgame perspective. That would be legacy system all over again. I really hope they can get the 55 endgame rolling and don't come up with the same "people were blasting through it lightning fast" excuse again later. While I do agree mostly with what you said, please you yourself take a look at the right industry, and not WOW as a comparison, you will find there is smarter ways.
  3. Now that I think of it, I really really wonder if the new level cap doesn't come back kicking them in the behind...
  4. Very, very interesting... I will be closely watching what they roll out for this "expansion", or if it takles the core problems at all. So far I've only seen learnings(or rather stolen ideas) in the wrong direction. The decision to let subscribers pay for DLCs has a few implications, seeing how other games handled their Freemium transition way smarter. I would really die to see this decision being made, and how that impacted internal processes and atmosphere.
  5. I don't want to interfere with the general theorycrafting about how the idea to be balanced in PVP has affected PVE, or who is right or not. I can clearly spot those who are right and those who just cry crocodile tears because they were stun lock killed by an OP once. (dramatized) I have been playing stealth/support/melee burst classes in almost every MMO out there, and at some point it always came to this discussion. There have been alot of solutions from various developers from super good to super bad. From breaking a class temporary over forcing players to redefine their gameplay if they want to stay on top to granting skilled players easy killing sprees. In my general understanding, and that is also something you can read in some posts here, it should always be possible to overcome certain downsides or nerfs if you know what to do with your class. Same goes vice versa for "I stopped playing it because it's just not viable anymore even though I have a guild that supports me > class". If the team can do the job, any class involved is viable, period. ########## break What I really am wondering about is the way this was handled. My assumption is this is a reactional nerf triggered by community and not internal measuring, becuase if that exists, or existed the nerf wouldn't have come so strategically fitting to community cries. This I fell is a bit weird as there are clearly enough cases that show how this can go terribly wrong. Anyway I still like playing my OP, it's needed relief from taking with an immortal jugger atm. So for me the class works for what I want it to be still in PVP as well as PVE. I think in general everyone should find his niche with the class he chose to play, and if he can't or won't anymore because some nerf hit him, possibly his choice for the class wasn't the right one to start with, or the expectation to what his clas should be. This does not justify the way it went done, isn't meant to be a post that points that out. Just trying to set a bigger picture... even though I realize I might have failed at that >_>
  6. Apart from the very annoying "champion mob stealth detection range"(wich made some situations crazy as a tank with an OP/assasin around), I would like to add "Cloaking Screen"/"Force Cloak" to fail every second or third mobgroup. (havent been to pvp with my OP yet, so no idea bout that) It's damn annoying if you pop Cloaking Screen somewhere, the mobs do react to it, return to their positions, but stay aggro'd. Sometimes you even have to run further then you'd normally have to, to evade mob groups, and then wait 30 secinds till you get out of combat. If you destealth earlier one of 2 things can happen: - Your companion runs back to the group, pulling pretty much every other group on the way. This can be solved usually by putting him into defensive prior to destealth, sometimes it wont though as you still are in combat. - The group will instantly turn to you again, running towards you, but resetting right in front of you. This also might pull more groups on the way and those are still in range, so they will attack you.
  7. Jaesa, meh I can understand her fall, if you pick the right answers it makes sense. The real issue with that Quinn part of the storyline is the "redemption":
  8. Well obviously you know better on the first topic, yet I fear you should re-read my posts concerning the second one. I did state nothing that is even close to that, only that not everyone might feel this to be his top priority. For example I am sure german bounty hunter players will have this ranked very low once they hit Voss and another thing pops to prio 1 on their list.
  9. Don't pick a single sentence and think you understand the bigge picture, read the whole post and subsequent ones to understand what I'm saying.
  10. I do agree in some parts, yet it is also appearant from some recent examples that for example polish > content won't save you either. I highly doubt there is a product manager out there yet that has the formula to keep all the three main branches of publishing in balance and winning the customers heart. If so, I am eager to see the release his company is planning, and then I'll win him over to us. Possibly I got a different viewpoint to this alltogether having experienced what I have so far, yet I hardly fail with my assumptions. Also I know it is pretty futile to try to change the perception of some, as I would need to show them the other side, even more you need to let a community vent for some time to be able to slowly turn the tides again. You can't absolutely not. The thing is, you need to identify the ball first.
  11. Not to boast, but I have been working in the gaming industry for about 10+ years now, alot of that in support. "I will quit playing" is something you learn first year, hardly is intimidating or true. Why? People comitted enough to speak up in the forums/ticket you wont lose. The ones you never hear (wich is the community majority) are the ones to keep satisfied, and they are not represented by the ones speaking up. So THIS is what you have to watch closely, while the community management pushes the rest in the right direction. (Or even better the community itself does) This is not a: haha It's rather a very objective nudge to reality.
  12. There is a difference in quality of what the OP did, and what is happening now. Not saying it was wrong to bring up, just hate the way it went down now that we got hands down from Bioware. They reply, open up don't try to silence it down, and they get a nerdrage. Guess where that'll lead to...
  13. Wee we found another thing to pounce on! Let em have it... till the next round of milk is served and everybody forgets about this. Sometimes I wonder if some people will look back at their posts, and at least facepalm on themselfes once! @topic understand the reasons, nothing new, not the first company to do it, moving on!
  14. Since the tooltip when applied clearly only says: poisoned should be obvious. gotta admit though, it confused me at first too...
  15. This is really an issue that is annoying me. As I said earlier it is totally fine having to use almost everything at your disposal, but it should be rewarded. Goes not only in solo vs. PVE, but also group as a tank. I can't hear my assasin anymore: oh **** it procced, vanishing... Or having to keep taunt on cooldown in mob groups. I like being the keyboard DJ, I absolutely hate only using 2-8 skills and having the perfect prio rotation going for max DPS. I like being versatile with my skills, yet currently it feels I am rather only competitive while having to maintain a very high level of attention to my skills. ... and no this does not improve with gear... also this is supposed to be a rant or a: y u no make me class the imbaz?! Just missing the love!
