  1. You are joking right ? Unless you are heavily overgeared, or use many CCs on trash (which makes the run longer tbh) it is almost impossible for tank to survive 55lvl hm fps witohout using cooldowns;)
  2. You have to realize that 55 lvl hm fps are something different than 50 lvl ones. I play as a tank - when hit 55 I had full set of augmented campaign. Completed like 10 hm fps so far and here are my few thoughts which might help you: - Tanks NEED to use their defensive cooldowns on harder trash pulls (doggs etc). If they don't - tank will probably die / it is going to be a wipe ( I am talking about PUGS in moderate gear). Healers - if you are grouped with tanks who refuse to do that - I can understand you having hard time keeping them alive, but it is THEIR FAULT. - If tanks for some reason refuse to use CDS on trash groups OR you are not experienced players / have gear problems - USE CC - I usually run through those HMS without almost no cc, but I use defensive cooldowns very often / STUN mobs (I mean short duration stuns which help a lot - for example as a Jugger you can force choke one dog, push another one and do this punch ability to the third one - gives healer nice few seconds to top you). So basically, if dpsers know their job (avoid dmg, use their interrupts, etc) and tanks are doing what I said above + there is someone to explain tactics = NO, FPS are not too hard, neither healing is impossible. Yep - there are moments of immense burst especially on trash packs, but with tanks CD, or CCing mobs and being prepared for 20 seconds of intense healing it is totally ok. Just my thoughts;) EDIT: I just thought about doing first heroics (hard modes) in WoW - Cataclysm. It has been a similar experience;) At first - difficult - but as you adapt - it is ok. EDIT 2 - PRO TIP - In Athiss, if you are biochem, you can collect some sort of flower before the second boss. You then have an item in your "mission items" inventory by which you can summon some sort of mob to help you. Funny thinkg is, this npc is treated as a companion and summoning him enables you to use heroic moment ability - which is ofc very helpful due to additional healing and legacy skills
  3. Hey, There are 3 tanking advanced classes in this game: Jedi Shadow / Sith Assassin Vanguard / Powertech Jedi Guardian / Sith Juggernaut All are melee tanks ( i mean you need, or should be in melee range while tanking), though you might see somewhere that people say that vanguard / powertech is not. Yes, you can use few abilities from distance, but to be most effective, every tanking class needs to be in melee range. - Technically speaking, vanguard / powertech is the easiest tanking class to play. You have easy threat managment, very simple rotation and highest passive mitigation. Basically it means that for some people tanking with this class is not challenging / fun (but as I say, it depends on person). Good thing is that simple rotation and not having to worry about defensive cooldowns too much, you can focus on interrupting abilities, and pay more attention to executing tactic / fight mechanics better. As for Jedi Guardian / Sith Juggernaut, I would say this class is similar to WoW's warrior (if you played wow you know what I mean). In comparison to powertech / vanguard, this class has lower passive mitigation and requires more skill / attention to play well. Guarians/Warriors have the most powerful defensive abilities in game, but on the longest cooldown. You could say that they are the most capable of surviving very high spike portion of damage in short time. More complex rotation and I think the lowest threat generation make it harder to hold aggroo, especially when you fight with groups of mobs. However, while you won't probably see a difference betwen good and great player who is tanking as vanguard / powertech, there is definitely more room for individual skills while tanking as guardian/juggernaut. I have been playing warrior since release and I must say that it is my favourite tanking class - challenging, and therefore fun. As for shadow / assassin I can not tell you much as I never played one to high level. However from what I have heard they have very well threat generation + pretty powerful defensive abilites with short cooldown. When you play one, you need to constantly watch your cooldowns so you make most use of them. Same as with guardian/juggernaut, there is room for player's skill to make a difference in class;) Remember though, every tanking class in this game is perfectly viable in every content, there is no better/worse. Yes, there are differences, but minor ones which don't have impact on end game for example;) Hope I helped you a bit;)
  4. Here from December aswell;) - 4 50s by now, not gonna leave soon.
  5. I think the main problem is your dps. If you are doing everything fine, enrage shouldn't be a problem. Additional adds will appear at around 15 -8 % depending on your dps, but if you ignore them and nuke like it should be, boss should go down. 1000 dps is not enough for terror from beyond hard mode. I would even say, that with this dps (lets say if your dpsers are doing 4k dps together) you would have problems with beating enrage timers on bosses in Explosive Conflict hard mode. Advisable MINIMAL dps (from my experience) is no less than 1,2 k, but even this can be, and WILL BE too low on further bosses (maybe you would be able to kill them, but it would be close one). So basically gear up, itemize your gear well and you should see the difference with dps.
  6. I thought about premades vs pugs / quitters problems. I have read some threads on forums, and know arguments of both sides. I came up with a conclusion, that the MAIN REASON of players leaving wzs / wzs being are too dominated by premades is LACK OF PLAYERS SKILL. It is lack of skill / organisation / playing for objectives which makes most ppl leave, as they see that they will accomplish nothing by staying / grouping with them. Therefore, if you could somehow improve overall playebase's pvp skills - it would reduce number of quitters, and (at least to some extent) make premades vs pugs more enjoyable / less roflstomping experience. There are guides / videos on the net about how each wz should be played, what are objectives etc, but in my opinion, mostly people dont care and won't bother searching for it. I can propose 2 things, which, if implemented in game, could make pvp more emjoyable - not by separating pugs from premades / punishing players who leave because those solutions simply won't work. What I am proposing is: 1. IMPLEMENT IN GAME VOICE CHAT (maybe it could be usable only in wzs) - This way pug players can at least to some extent communicate with each other - I am sure in every pug you could find at least few players with headphones / microphone who would like to communicate in order to achieve better results. You wouldn't need to install any programme. You could even award people with medal for using voice chat to give another incentive . Of course I dont know if it is technically possible to do, but if yes, it is worth considering, and gives pugs a solid help versus premades + more communication between players is highly recommendable in mmo games. 2. MAKE PVP " TUTORIALS " - Idea is, bioware could add something like [ HEROIC 4] missions, starting from level 10, which HAS TO BE COMPLETED in order to even start queue for pvp at all. Goal of those missions would be gathering 4 people and sending them into certain warzones. Then, they would have to fight with MOBS (being equivalent of enemy players team) and win this warzone. Such mission would require to win a warzone, but, what's most important, would make players learn BASICS of OBJECTIVE playing. For example, warning would appear - ENEMY IS TRYING TO CAPTURE EASTERN EMPLACEMENT - SEND A TEAM TO PROTECT IT, BUT BE SURE TO GUARD OTHER POSTS TOO. Then some ninja mob would escape from stealth after like 10 seconds from this warning and try to capture another (controlled by players ) post, which would teach players not to leave post unguarded. It could in the same way teach about resolve, using guard on healers / ppl getting damage, necessity of keeping enemy players stunned / away, when one of you is planting a bombs etc etc. I will not write how each of those warzone tutorials should look like, but I hope you see the point. If those 2 things were in game, I think that overall organisation / objective oriented playing would be in much better shape, therefore drastically reducing numbers of incidents in which someone is failing to do basic things. Of course it will not eliminate the issue of quitters ( there are many other reaons why people leave) neither it will make pugs vs premades fair matches, but it would definitely help. I am open to your comments on those propositions;)
  7. If what you are saying is true, I really don't know why people who are HUGGING pulsar droid are taking shots for 13-17 k damage.
  8. Ty for all replies guys. We already managed to do this phase properly with noone dying so problem is irrelevant now;) I haven't changed anything, guess dpsers are more careful now;) Thing which is killing us right now are Pulsar Droids. We have read that rail shot should be hitting one who is farthest away (but within 30 meters range) from active pulsar droid. So we place our tanks so that they are meant to get shots. While most of the time it happens, some of rail shots seems random for us, one shooting people with the help of the walker. It just doesnt seem to matter where one stands, it can hit him if he is the closest one, in the mid or whatever. I have also read that going as a group on switches can prevent rail shots from happening at all, but we havent tried it yet. And if it can be done, is it intended to be like this, or is it like bugging the game? Thanks for replies. Manror
  9. I guess it's just a matter of personal choice and playstyle you like. If you do like using taunts and implement them in your rotation - probably no accuracy or hybrid spec is needed. If you prefer to just focus on dpsing boss and use taunt situationally, try it.
  10. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#101hMGzu0MZcGRRMhz0MZ0M.2 Try this. What it gives you is a - Shien form, which you can use when you are in a role of off tank and need to do more dps. - 3 % of additional accuracy - 20 % of damage reduction 4 seconds after force charge (very useful in fights like toth / zorn or stormcaller / firebrand - 4 % all damage reduction + additional 15 % after using enraged defense (use it only if you have a taunt or mass taunt ready tough, as this may make you loose agroo - bu it still a nice cooldown in heavy situations).
  11. Hey My guild is trying to kill Kephess on hard mode and we have some problems when it comes to adds phase (warrior with shield + trenchcutters). Thing is we have 2 jugger tanks - one of them going for warriors, and second one ( me) is supposed to tank other mobs so that dpsers can aoe them down. Problem is that I simply cannot hold aggro on those packs, and even if we manage to kill all adds, it is usually one or two guys dead meaning a wipe. I want to say I do not think I am unskilled noob, I simply find myself UNABLE to do anything more than what I am doing to make threat generating better - I fee llike I do not have enough abilities to do that. I am using smash every time I can. but it has 12 sec cooldown. In the meantime, I am building my rage and spamming sweeping slash, I am using aoe taunt (45 sec cd) when things go really bad. I use guard on best dpser, even use vigilance during the fight when i see someone is overagroing, dpsers are using threat lowering abilities, but most of the time it is still not enough. Any of you Juggs tanks out there have been tanking adds on this particular fight and can give me a tip, or try to help with solution to this problem? Also one question which might be important: Does second Baradium Bomber spawns after you kill all adds, or it has a timer so that if you are too slow on adds, bomber will spawn while killing adds? Do we have to kill adds as fast as possible, so when shield disappears, dpsers start nuking hard without giving me any time to build agroo on mobs. Would it slow us own too much if I asked them to wait like 2 seconds before each pack? Manror.
  12. Ty for answers. That's what I am doing right now, keeping bonus while having black hole chest;) I am doing EC HM with guild. We are only 1/4 now, and struggling to defeat stormcaller/firebrand so I guess every bit of additional mitigation is really important. I have another question though: Any of you guys tried tanking EC HM in hybrid build? (17/22/2) ? I have played few flashpoints in this build and it was ok, though I am afraid that in operation I might have problems with threat due to lack of backhand and crushing blow. Also not sure if my survivability is going to be the same as it have been in full immortal tree.
  13. My question is simple: is it worth keeping the 4 pieces pve set bonus for jugger tank? It increases damage absorbed by shield created when we use force scream by 20% so it definitely helps. However, I couldnt find any info on how much dmg is absorbed by this shield, thus I do not know if those 20% will make a significant difference. I am asking because I am not able to obtain campaign gear now, yet I like the look of black hole.
  14. Hey. There are plenty things you can do at 50, maybe you are just not aware of them. I will try to point them out: - Do daily quests on Belsavis, Corelia and Ilum - It will let you get your gear upgraded with purple mods, armorings and enchancments. Also, by daily commendations you can buy some nice rakata implant/earpiece/new relic/speeder. - When your gear is upgraded enough (through dailies and maybe some items from crafting / GTN) try to do some hard mode flashpoints. - Join a nice guild and try doing operations. -If you dont like flashpoints/operations - try doing pvp. Spend some credits on recruit gear and have fun fighting with other players. - Maximize your crew skils, make money by selling stuff. Buy nice speeder / nice looking set of gear / unlock few things in your legacy system. - Maximize your affection with companions - not only it makes them completing missions faster and gives you certain bonuses via legacy system, but also you can know their stories. - Enjoy event on tatooine (sad it ends at 24th though). - Try collecting datacrones on different planets. It might be boring for some, but there are people who enjjoy it. You can explore planets, and collecting them all gives you satisfaction. - Go back to lower level planets and do quests you skipped before - it will entertain you only if you like exploring game / world though;) Or, as said above, roll a new char.
