  1. Exactly. Ill def be there for gw2 but people need to be realistic about the game its going to be. If you read some post media-beta threads its mixed feelings about the game. Its not all dick jerking like you read on the rest of the interwebs. Im not bagging it, im just sayin people need to keep a level head or their unrealistic expectations will let them down for another game. Right now im looking for some enjoyable pvp that extends past constant warzones/pvp/arenas/whatever you want to call it. Ive lasted a few years with it and its time for something deeper and more substantial. I enjoy rpgs, and i enjoy competition. If something caters to those needs im sure im not the only one who will be content for a while.
  2. Im starting to get that CBF when it comes to playing now. AKA boredom. As much as i like parts of the combat system i have no motivation to get to 50, and have stopped enjoying the story which makes levelling by myself the same ole crap. Duo levelling helps a lot but its normally only you and who your grouped up post second planet. Even on swiftsure most levelling areas have 40 ppl which being such huge planets (and awesome level design imo) is way too few. The worlds are just that, levelling areas, they dont all need to be populated but theres no real reason for people to ever go back to any planets at any stage unless a class quest briefly sends them back. Theres not even any world evens. Because they're all separate instances people dont spill out into the lower level areas like you normally see. That combined with the fact that on all my characters i would have less than 10 world pvp encounters that werent actively (read seaching for 20-30mins) looked for. Id even be happy if there wasnt any real "meaningful" world pvp for now, i didnt roll on a pvp server so i can spend 30mins running around looking for a person to attack. Then all the little things like that idiot friendly sorc spec that leads to having sometimes half of a warzone with scrub sorcs who spam aoe and lightning but can never cap more than 1 door at voidstar and results in an unenjoyable corpse run zerg fest. The fact that i can jump on my gunslinger and stop close to (or even some times the whole team) from capping by sneakily shooting vital shot on people with a pocket healer is bs really. I can do a solo suicide dot run on the zerg side of voidstar and be able to defend it for far too long. Tanks damage output vs mitigation levels are unbalanced, using bubbles on guarded players, breaking of a class by a flat nerf but offering no compensation in other areas to fill some of the gap it left. And so on.... its all been said before All of little these things would be much more palatable if there were things meaningful world pvp, or even say more than 3 warzones and and questing paths between the 2 factions that crossed. The combination of all those small problems that chip away at peoples patience combined with the fact that the whole pvp system revolves around 3 warzones - or 4 after 1.2 - is too much for a large percentage of people. No i dont think it will be enough of a change to turn around the pvp system in the game. 1.2 is something like what should have been released. I also dont think that the majority of pvpers leaving (hypothetically speaking) would break the game. I do think that the developers severely underestimated the importance of pvp to a large percentage of players and will result in a greatly reduced in game population. When i play this game i sometimes think of that quote. All we need is 500,000 subs for 6 months before this game is profitable - or something along those lines. It seems to sum up the design philosophy for this game. TL;DR: NO
  3. Awesome, good to know thanks. Just thought that there were key abilities missing to make the spec work, but ill give it a try now heh.
  4. Quick question really, what level does dirty fighting become a viable spec? As far as i can see it wouldnt be till around teir 4 on the talent tree but id like to be wrong on this. My guy is only 17 but not sure if i love the whole turret playstyle that much. The videos ive seen of dirty fighting is what originally got me interested in slingers. Ive mostly played rpds in mmos, arent that excited by the sage or sorc, and dont enjoy the commando...
  5. No its true now, someone made a post on the forums about it
  6. People are dellusional if they think there is no sort of progession in guild wars 2 and are taking up all the marketing skill based slang hook line and sinker. Sure you might do alright initially but theres no way you'll be as good as a well developed character with 10 times the amount of skills to choose from. All that is removed is a gear stat increase, and would be somewhat comparable to the 10-49wz we have in swtor. Sure you might do alright at times on your lvl 11 whatever, but your going to get destroyed repeatedly by anyone who can play their class half correctly.
  7. Hi guys just wondering if people could share their experiences with, and answer a few questions i have with dirty fighting slingers. Im going to roll an alt and are leaning towards the gunslinger over scoundrel as i already have a shadow. Primary focus is but not only pvp. How is the mobility of dirty fighting, how much of it is cover dependant, and what is the play style like? Ive played a marksman slinger to mid teens but didnt enjoy the lack of mobility it had. Also is the dirty fighting tree viable early on ie mid teens, if not when would you start pvp'ing with one? I know some class trees take a while to get the few key talents / skills that make them work properly. What i was hoping for was a range dps class that isnt a turret, is versatile and more complex than say a commando, and has decent utlity. Them being late bloomers (if they are) isnt a real concern for me. Im sure im asking for too much so im always happy to compromise. Cheers
  8. Jokes right? You really think out of everything, the best thing about WoW is LFG?

    Sorcs in PvP

LOL Bads will be bads. If you cannot burn down a sorcs shield then you need to re-spec, re-gear, or re-roll. Go play one and find out their weakness if you get hosed by them all the time. The bubble is the least OP thing they have, and as a shadow are always the first guys i go for because they die so fast.. They are so easy to force movement out and all their hard hitting spells are either cast or channelled so you can easily interrupt/stun/knockback and completely lock them down. They can be difficult difficult if they have a guard + a shield, but you can at least remove them out of the equation by sitting on them forcing them to move too much, blow cd's and interrupt anything they try to cast and channel.. The only real time they suck is if theres 2 or if they're perched up on a ledge somewhere at max range... and so they should be.
  10. Lets just remove all the walkways out of huttball and make it a flat piece of grass. Also remove any stunzzzz plx. NO COUNTAH IF CD IS BLOWD
  11. I just ran a few tests with the latest nvida drivers on my 580 and have picked up a fairly noticeable framerate increase in the areas i tried. Most noticable was alderaan thought i havent tested a many of the other areas. Also seemed to have no microsuttering at all with shadows on high.
  12. Eh on my server at least, empire is the least desirable side. General chat (especially in the first few planets) is full of trolls and morons arguing their points of view that sometimes last a few hours. It got to the point where i just left and only joined general to find a heroic group. They are more populated but are losing ilum atm and in pre-50 wz would fall short on the majority of matches bar a day or 2 here and there where they get a good run. Communication difference in warzones between the factions is light and day, and empire typically employ uber tactics ranging from a group zerg to a lemmings 1 at a time zerg. They're easily pulled away from nodes and doors to cap ando tend to give up a lot more than republic do. They even had some retard "battlemaster" sorc ganking 30's in alderaan spaceport - who challenged any size group to even get close to killing him and died multiple times before 50's got there to hammer him properly. Initially i hated the republic gear and how clean some of the stories were, so i played empire for a bit. Maybe it was the servers empire community that tarnished it, but i ended up finding it a bit try-hard. One thing i enjoy about the game is i can still make a evil character without changing factions. What i think would be good is more variations in the gear. Maybe a bit less brown and white for republic and less red black and purple for empire, but still remaining appropriate for each faction.
  13. Quick its dying! Also posting how i wanted it to work makes it mean more. OMG DA NEXT GAIM WILL RULE. All the promo says so.
