  1. I know this is mainly a PvE thread, but I think it's worth noting that the 5%/10% defense chance that players receive only applies to ranged and melee damage ("white" damage). Chances to resist force and tech damage ("yellow" damage) are still 0% by default for all players, ignoring the many defensive CDs that affect force (or resist) chances. So, when gearing for PvP, keep in mind that accuracy only helps with your "white" damage, generally. Also, great post! Thanks for all your hard work.
  2. Granted I haven't done much sampling, but my samples range from 4-9 total materials on Grade 6 Abundant missions, with an average of 6.25 materials. this is for Bioanalysis though. Are your numbers coming from a different crew skill maybe?
  3. So lately I've been toying a bit more with conquest crafting, which has me going back and sending out grade 5-6 missions for archaeology, bioanalysis, and scavenging. As someone who has only really done much crafting post-2.0, I am confused by the amounts of resources that each mission yields. Obviously, they made it a bit more clear-cut with 2.0. Anyway, I'm wondering what the average normal yield and what the average critical yield for these missions might be. Is this information out there somewhere? Or do I have to keep sampling?
  4. <Weapons of War> is looking for one more skilled and knowledgeable player to round out our 7/10 HM progression team. Ideally, we would like a Vanguard Tank or DPS, but we can also accommodate other roles. Our set raid nights are Mondays and Thursdays starting at 8:30 PM EST. You must have TeamSpeak, Star Parse, and the ability to hit buttons adequately (please no clickers). If you are interested, please PST or mail SwordSaint in-game.
  5. I'm surprised no one has mentioned the rocks in this thread. In my experimentation, which is limited to 8man SM so far, the hiding behind rocks does nothing different than just standing out in the open. You still get knocked back. You still take the same amount of damage. Sometimes, someone will take a larger amount of damage on this phase, but I've seen it happen to people who are behind rocks when, at the same time, others who are not behind rocks seemingly take no damage at all. Has anyone else noticed this? Also, as a potential workaround, a guildie of mine suggested running 3 healers, 4 dps, and 1 tank. We haven't gotten around to trying this, but it sounds good in theory. Anyone else have any thoughts on this? And yeah, the fight's totally bugged guys. Let's not kid ourselves lol.
  6. Agreed the drops are making these basically worthless to do. Why do they drop basic comms instead of elite comms? I understand you get more elite comms now than the level 55 equivalents just because of the 16 comm daily that's up from 10, but still, basic comms really are worthless once you get to HM 60 flashpoints, IMO. should be something at least marginally useful. Why doesn't the bonus boss drop a piece of 192 gear? Is it intended for them to be basically not worth killing? Just some of my thoughts.
  7. All right, I think I'm going to go with this since it fits my experience and makes sense. If anyone else has any conflicting information or experience, please share. Otherwise, I will assume this is the case. Thanks for your responses!
  8. As the title suggests, I'm wondering what data anyone has picked up regarding the chance to fail any gathering missions. I'm also curious whether or not companion affection has any affect on the failure chance (I assume it doesn't, but I'm not sure). Any and all information is appreciated
  9. This is really the problem. Saying that organizing large numbers of people takes skill is true, but you don't have to do that to get points in this system. You just have to spam invite people (which is what the top guilds were doing for weeks before the update) and then inform them what the best way to get points is (spam False Emperor and The Battle of Illum over and over again) if they can't figure out what it is themselves. It's a zerg fest. There's no skill involved.
  10. It takes skill to say "OK, you guys go kill yourselves in GSF over and over again, and you guys go farm flashpoints until your eyeballs fall out of your sockets." - Viceroy Cakeboss SKILL!? REALLY!?
  11. I only skimmed the OP, but I'm not worried about a crash because A) I think most people do dailies for their money and only when they need it. If these people are wanting to participate in the giant credit sink, they'll grind extra credits to offset that B) The rest of the player base, the ones who make money off of crafting, are mostly already doing just fine with credits. They might spend some extra, but they'll work to make up for it themselves. In the end, I think the economy is still largely driven by dailies, which people will be driven to do more of, so I don't expect any issues.
  12. An idea of premades that I've heard bounced around a bit is to get a bunch of pilots (ideally 24) online on the same faction at the same time ungrouped and see how the chips fall. Obviously that's dicey, but I feel like that has potential, especially if matchmaking keeps screwing with things. Anyway, to my OP, thanks for all the postings all! I expect and appreciate the differing opinions listed, and I plan to at least try out all 3 servers. I just wanted to get an idea of which ones were active, and you all answered that question very well haha. Anyway, if I could get a confirmation on which channel is the GSF channel for each of those 3 servers (unless it's just "gsf" for all 3 - I'll try that first), that would be great! Thanks again! See you all out there!
  13. Hey all. I used to play GSF casually, but I haven't recently, primarily because PoT5's space community isn't what it used to be. I would like to start playing again on a more active server, and preferably one that has even/high competition. Obviously, there isn't a definitive answer to this question, but any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
  14. While it's true that this is vastly more likely to happen on the republic side than on the Imperial side, the simple solution to this problem starts with us who like to queue with more than 1 group at a time: cut your group in half and fly on different factions. Don't get me wrong, I queue-sync with my guildies sometimes, but some of the best matches we have occur when we play against each other. We might as well just be queuing on different factions.
