  1. Yeah, I wish I could find any posts about how to solve this problem, but no luck so far. There is no *.ini file in the root dir. The only ini file in the entire installation is the client_defaults.ini located under ...\swtor\retailclient. Tried changing some values in that file, but that didn't do anything.
  2. Sorry, what ini-file? My "bitraider" folder only contains a "bin" folder with 3 files (2 exe and 1 dll).
  3. I got a problem with many missing textures in the game, probably due to bad/missing files. Sadly the "Repair" option in the launcher is greyed out, so I can't use that. I read that someone suggested to remove the "bitraider" folder in the SWTOR installation, to trigger a repair. I tried that, but it didn't do anything at all. The "bitraider" folder was pretty much empty anyway. Anyone got any other advice for repairing the installation other than re-installing the game from scratch?
  4. I haven't destroyed the star fortress yet on one of the chars, so that must be it It doesn't say anywhere, that is needed to "convert" the specific alliance chars to companions. Thanks!
  5. I got 2 Imperial chars. Both have done the Tatooine quest for "Deadeye" Leyta. For both chars, Leyta is now in the imperial base. On one char, Leyta is listed under "Other Followers" and can be summoned and used for Crew Skills. On the other char, Leyta is listed under "Alliance Recruit" and can't be used for anything. I have no idea if this is a bug or there is something that I need to do, in order to make Leyta a "real" companion? I have this problem for some of the other alliance companions too. Any help appreciated.
  6. I guess the title should have been: "Why are we gathering allies/companions?" Luckily the rest of the posters here understood what I meant, so thanks for the replies Basically I just wondered, if you at some point later could send companions out to do stuff for you (not thinking of crew skills here). Something that would actually benefit your character. But I see now, that companions are just like collecting other stuff like pets or mounts.
  7. I just finished chapter 1-9 and now I'm at the base gathering allies/companions. I know that for story reasons, you recruit allies to "strengthen the alliance". But regarding game-play, you can only have one companion with you all the time and they can now all fill the same roles. And regarding crew skills, then you can only send 5 at the same time anyway. I'm obviously not that far into the expansion, so I just wonder if there at any point later is an actual use for all those allies. Does it matter at all whether I got 10, 20 or 30?
  8. Lots of nice story, no doubt about that, but very little real game-play. It felt a bit like an amusement park ride where you are put on rails and then just go along for the ride. There's no real danger and you got no choice where to go and what to do. The fights seem irrelevant, I don't think I ever got below 90% health in any of them. And you only got one mission all the time. This is not a whine, I just wonder if that's the way the entire "expansion" works or will there be some more free traditional game-play later on with multiple quests, new worlds etc.?
  9. Hi, I'm enjoying myself, but feeling a bit lost mainly about how to play my chars. I got multiple chars (Sith Sorcerer 55, Imperial Agent 50, Bounty hunter 38 and a Juggernaut 29.). I'm not up to speed with regards to what talents to pick and skills to use, so I'm really getting murdered while questing. I'm looking for a good source to find some advice about: 1) Talent builds and skills to use 2) Rotation 3) Stat priority 4) What companions to use I've Googled a lot, but often end up on pages no longer being maintained Any advice/hints will be greatly appreciated
  10. You definitely get points for keeping up the positive attitude But losing 25% subscribers shortly after launch is bad for an MMO... really really bad... like Age of Conan bad.
  11. Well, that quote shown above is not what it said in my e-mail. It said: So I should have received the 30 days by now, but I guess I'll wait one more day and see if they show up tomorrow (as according to the BW quote above).
  12. So much work, just because BW don't add real combat logs to the game. Once again they fail hard compared to other MMO's
  13. This is how bad it can get, when you REALLY screw up a patch/maintenance http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/114155-Server-Screw-Up-Kills-MMO
  14. I doubt smaller patches would help anything. Just look at the very small patch 1.2.0a that completely broke the game It's the apparent lack of testing before patches are released, that make their system a failure.
  15. The free 30 days sounds like a desperate move to keep people in the game a bit longer. All the people that have played from day 1 and bought a 3 months subscription, got their subscription running out in 5 days. Pushing 1.2 out now and giving those people (most of those will have a lvl 50 by now) a free month, is an attempt to keep them from unsubscribing.
