It will be fine for medium graphics and some options on high(i had a PC with similar specs). If you have your old PC just install swtor on the new PC then copy the swtor folder from the old to new. Just use the same account,you don't need a new copy!

Try turning off ambient collusion in nvidia control panel for swtor,solved my crashes on nvidia card pc. As to the problem of after playing after 1-2 hours and then lagging real bad on fleet,long load times,then needing to end swtor.exe because it's unresponsive when ending your play session, i had all of those problems. Even when playing for just 5 minutes, if i would alt-tab to open a browser to google something while playing, the whole pc would become laggy-unresponsive. My pc at the time was a c2quad 2.4ghz / 4gb ram / radeon hd6950 2gb with win7 ultimate x64. i used gamebooster and memory cleaner,they helped a lot(mem cleaner kept memory usage at 80 percent- 3.2gb.) Then i got a better cpu cooler,overclocked the cpu to 3ghz, got some better ram ( 8gb ),gpu is the same,win7 i left untouched ,and the difference is huge. With 4gb ram ,after 2+ hours of playing swtor ram usage would go real close to 4gb the game would just start to be more and more laggy,the fps would drop over time... Now that i have 8gb ram + overclock of the cpu i can play 5 hours and go to the fleet with just some minor stutters when close to a bunch of other players characters,but the whole pc is smoothly responsive when i alt-tab at any point during 5+ hours to open a browser,no fps drops after long play sessions,don't need to use mem cleaner or gbooster but i still do from time to time out of habit Ram usage never goes above 5.5gb. Just going from 4gb to 8 made a huge difference on my pc.

Yeah change instance FTW hehe, just that sometimes when either one changes instances nameplates of target doesn't work,then a relog fixes it.

So my brother and me have been playing swtor often lately, and more often than not ,when we log in at the same we log into different instances of the same planet,despite the fact that both of us have each other on friends list.(happens when there are 3 or more instances) So i'm curios, does it happen to anyone else?

Just asked my brother,he has m17x r2 with 2 ati 5xxx series cards. Says he played swtor on almost all high settings for graphics except he put grass and trees at 50%. He is very happy with the performance in all games,only problems he had were due to known crossfire issues in some games but even those were not that big of a deal. He recommends you get a laptop cooling pad(make sure the pad's fans blow in the intake vents for the cards,that they are positioned on the pad so they can) as he noticed with his past 3 alienware laptops they do get hot when gaming graphics intensive games. I'm 99% sure my brother has the one with the 2 graphics cards(one gpu he fried by spilling a drink over the laptop:D). He was running swtor/skyrim on the highest settings with 2 gpus,with 1 card he suffered a fps loss of about 20-30 fps(i think he had about 70 fps in swtor with 2 cards). Will ask him on the phone to be sure as he is on a business trip right now.

I deleted my 50 char,kept the species unlock,class buff,got that heroic ability on all characters now so i guess you keep the presence buff too.

So i just bought a legacy lvl20 helmet on one of my characters that is lvl11,and i noticed that the repair cost for it is about 10x of another piece of armor at lvl11. For instance: chestplate(low level blue lvl10) is at 189/200-repair cost is 19 creds, legacy helm lvl20 is at 188/200 - repair cost 189. Is this working as intended?

Hey OP, i had a pc with the same cpu,same amount of ram,but with a sapphire 8800 gt golden sample. Resolution i used was 1680x1050,game played well on medium to high settings except in warzones and on fleet when there was a lot of people(used all low settings for wz and fleet). So my advice get a bit better cpu than q6600 and a card better than 8800 gt if you can,or if it's a q6600 revision G0 ,with some good cooler you can overclock it from 2.4 to 3.0 / 3.4 ghz.

Been playing lately(smuggler) , grouped with my brother(commando),and whoever is the group leader 9 out of 10 items that drop off random mobs in the world that we can use are for the group leader's class. In flashpoints that we duo it seems the same;flashpoint owner gets most class specific drops. In conversations,the one who clicks the quest giver first(starts the convo) wins most rolls. I think it started after patch 1.2 that i noticed this all.

I guess you have to be a certain level to trigger the next conversation. Happened to me on my BH,from lvl1 to 30 i got Mako conversations every 3 levels or so,gained about 500 affection between each convo. Then from lvl 30 to 36 no convo and i noticed i got about 3k affection and no convo. Then all of a suden i got about 5 convos in a row,and i got a mission for Mako that is lvl40(this is at my lvl36). I bet you will get lots of them too all at once when you reach a bit higher level,probably you would get some mission and you would be to low level? EDIT: What Lycanthrop said ,beat me to it:)

There is the marauder tunic that drops in black talon flashpoint(looted mine from a chest there). http://www.torhead.com/item/9vTjaV3 And there is a pitch black lvl50 set that is crafted. Thats what i can think of that would maybe suit you.
