  1. I'd call that up for debate, still being escorted everywhere by Obi-Wan at the time, but regardless the point still remains that any "apprentice" had by Anakin would've been mentioned in the movies...that's not something that gets "swept under the rug" and since it wasn't mentioned, there is no reason to believe such an apprentice ever existed...
  2. See, I've always felt that Palpatine wasn't any greater than Exar Kun or Freedon Nadd or Tulak Hord or whoever else of the "great" ancient sith lords...and Revan was better than many of those...call me a fanboy of the original KotOR if you wish, but Revan seemed to be the best of the best for the time period and it seems that force users were generally far more powerful in Old Republic era than in New Republic era... then again, didn't Luke rip a Star Destroyer out of the sky or something like that? I suppose that would put you up a bit on the rankings...
  3. meh, I'm not a fan of double-posting so I'll leave where is, unless a person can provide concrete proof that this isn't a Star Wars-related discussion...considering the bases of the question is about a Star Wars game, that makes it Star Wars-related and therefore just fine where it is. On an analytical basis, you cannot beat that logic, therefore quit your d*mn b*tching and get over yourself...make a relevant response or take your would-be and totally meaningless power struggle to another person who cares what you say. THANKS!
  4. As far as the Empire being good vs evil...it goes both ways, Rule through Strength does not automatically equate to a lack of benevolence...your average Joe in the middle class of the Empire probably doesn't even see a difference from their cousin in the Republic other than the flag hanging outside of the window... A nation cannot be described as good or evil of its own accord, only by it's ruling power, if a Jedi with good intentions were to take over the Empire and a few Sith voted into power over the Republic, give it a hundred years or so and they would have completely swapped (Republic becoming Empire, Empire becoming Republic) If nothing else, be a Sith, go light-side and aim to be the one to make the switch...then go play a Jedi as dark-side and reciprocate...
  5. well then which is better? is this not a Star Wars-related discussion? The way I see it, appropriate forum is opinion-based
  6. I'm sure this has been brought up before...but I've not seen it so I'm making on myself to get some other opinons To start with: Revan was presumably trained from young childhood and has been through his share of all out Jedi- and Sith-style wars, had some insanely bad mofo moments, had the full Sith experience (took apprentice, betrayed by apprentice, killed apprentice) and so on and so forth Luke has the full legacy of force power from his father and also has had a few bad mofo moments, experienced war more from a non force-user perspective as well as among other force users, and was betrayed by his own apprentices a couple times. Both have touched both light and dark sides, both have been idolized as legendary leaders, both have redefined what it means to be a Jedi, both have learned from ancient secrets, both have encountered/fought evils older than themselves, both have seen enough crap to make any mere mortal cower in insanity and fear. So let's make them do the timewarp and end up on an isolated planet...Would they work together or fight and if fighting, who would win?
  7. +1 on this I would like to see Wookies, agree that Jawas or Gungans would be ridiculous, Gammoreans have always been portrayed as far too unintelligent/brutish to be considered actual heroes or villains, maybe a Gammorean companion might be cool... As far as the Yoda species goes, there's a huge problem to overcome first, GL doesn't/didn't want the species named, you have to have a name for it before you can select it... so until he changes his mind, that's completely out no matter who wants it... Regardless, if all races were available, I would play those that I liked and be amused by the choices of others...
  8. Now I'm not saying that there isn't room for improvement, or add ons, so please don't go all high and mighty here. What I am saying is that I'm annoyed by people who talk about "well why isn't this person a companion" or "why did/didn't that person live/die" or "why didn't this/that work" "why don't we just blow it up" ....blah blah blah...zzzzzzzz Just play the game and find appreciation in what IS...you can't really do anything about what you would want or prefer so if you really want to have something different MAKE IT... I consider myself to be an actual fan, I take things as they come, if I disagree with something, I give my opinion on why it's wrong and move on to keep finding what's next. Thoughts?
  9. and btw, there already is a limit on companions available for crew skill missions. (as I recall, 5 is max at lvl 50, might be 6, idr, nor does it matter since the point has been made)
  10. I grant that it would be kinda cool, but it would ruin any semblance of continuity to keep it fair. What I mean by that is if this came to be, ALL characters should have access to her, newly made or not...which means that for anyone who has already killed her, there would have to be a ressurrection involved...and that's not really a Star Wars thing...the idea of Cloning has already been used and can be overdone, so that really wouldn't be considered a viable option... alternate timelines make things just feel ridiculous... and trying to say that you didn't actually kill her, when you know that you visualized cutting her head off or shooting her in her pretty little face or whatever, is about the weakest option to be considered... End point: It cannot logically and fairly happen, so just play the game as it is written and be content. Do not try to play God unless you have the creative writing, programming and graphical design skills necessary to make your OWN game...in which case, I wish you luck!
  11. Considering that Anakin was barely even a Knight when he turned Sith, he never could have had a padawan*** and therefore ahsoka never ACTUALLY existed... just saying... EDIT: To clarify with the *** above: He never could have had a padawan with the jedi during the clone wars...The idea of him having padawans between eps 3 and 4 isn't so far fetched (a lot can happen and be swept under the rug in 20 years) but the 2-3 years between eps 2 and 3 isn't enough time to do all that was "done" in the "Clone Wars" TV series and still have no real evidence of it in the movies... considering the movies came straight from GL, if he didn't mention it, it either A) wasn't important enough to be mentioned, which Anakin having an apprentice would definitely be noteworthy; or B) didn't happen to begin with.
  12. I'm sorry, this post irritates me considering you're passing off what opened the door and started literally ALL of this as irrelevant, how can you have any appreciation for a car and say that the invention of the automobile was pointless? That's like saying that some person is the greatest whatever to have lived and it doesn't matter whether or not their parents existed (which if they didn't then the person wouldn't)... do you seriously have no logical mind whatsoever? The fact of the matter comes down to this: you cannot ever elminate the original as the ultimate law. For example, the Star Trek reboot doesn't replace nor invalidate the originals, instead they're going about to retell the same story via different events... to take a piece of writing and after-the-fact change what the original was is pompous ignorance, since the TRUE fanbase is interested only because of the original. So any arguments made against the facts as laid down in the OT, are invalidated before they are even laid by pen (or keyboard as the case may be). Also, go with a slight philosophical here, hating the movies is a fine personal choice, but to discount them when they are inclusive story by word of the original creator in favor of anything EU not written by Lucas himself, is to attribute to glorified fanfiction as opposed to credit where it is due to begin with Yes, when it's all said and done now you can debate all these characters, their faults, their strengths and whatever else, but when it comes down to it. Lucas created the SW universe and therefore, his creations come first and foremost as the absolute truth within the universe. A mechanic doesn't dictate the workings of the car AFTER the engineer has built it...
  13. all my post was intended to point out is that ^^^this^^^ attitude is a matter of opinion, given all of the words that i have seen blocked out with the chat filter on, I really don't see where all this room for getting uppity about language is coming from...not to mention the fact that ignoring people makes it nice and easy to not even see the constant ******* bleep outs... End argument for me: I, personally, believe people these days are far too easily offended in a world that is nothing but offensive to most... feel free to disagree, it is your prerogative..
  14. Not intentionally TRYING to be a troll here, but I really must play devil's advocate for a moment, primarily for the US Servers... they have chat filters and ignore settings for a reason...after all, there is a little thing known as the First Amendment...some of you may want to google it, or just play on and complain about non US Servers... just a thought...
