  1. imma 70. enjoying every second of pve.
  2. Why I joined SWTOR? Thanks for this refreshing Post. It is Star Wars… I have played every Star Wars themed game, except for the lego series, or watched all the movies since the beginning. I can remember the grand opening of Star Wars a New Hope. I took my Daughter to see it. Then I was here for the opening of this SWTOR online. I have two Founder accounts, which I have continually played. Then how about the first box game a Jedi Outcast and all other boxed games with the SW trademark. I own all games and all movies, that were sold. I do still love all the old music sound tracks, that are in these games. Original movies by Lucas 1 thru 6 then Disney 7 and Rogue. I guess you could say I have lived Star Wars. So it’s only natural for me to play a Star War game. If its got the trademark, then I will buy into it. May the Force be with you Skinner
  3. It appears that, after the maintenance on 5/2/17, the modifications vendors do not sell any defense or shield related items. Anyone else notice this? I searched, but couldn't find any info relating to this problem. Happy gaming Skinnerlee
  4. Keith/Eric: Opposite faction citizenship and/or a parallel universe, as well as bug fixes. Suggestions for the road map that you are creating for future direction of SWTOR (food for thought). After the announcement of the up coming road map that Keith is producing, I offer my two cents worth with a couple ways to breath life back into swtor. 1. Citizenship Coruscant/Dromund Kass given to any like type character (dark vs. light). Dark Gunslinger, Light Sniper, Fallen Knights etc., etc.. I would love to be able to produce dark side or light side characters and join the opposite faction . Upon creation of character(all 16 character types could play either dark or light) as well as(in the spirit of the dark vs. light event) during play if I decided to permanently change factions and had achieved a dark vs. light standard of a respective faction, then I could gain entrance into that faction thru a citizenship change. It would be similar to character creation at level 60 or 65(you would sacrifice your story line, but could play all other quests, and in parties of that faction. Once you choose this road there is no going back because your past faction has become your enemy. 2. Parallel Universe - In the sense of legacy or new game, I would like to marry and have a child that you would develop to a certain level and they would pack their bags and climb aboard a ship (leave home) and go to a compete different universe (life) (start again with only what they could carry… new server, faction(maybe first order/dark side vs. gray order /light side etc.), time frame, story line (a return back to more star wars like game)) with no hooks to return(once you make your trip you are in a complete new game set/new server). Greetings: I am a founder and have played since the beginning. I have two founder accounts and 2 regular accounts, that I keep continually subed. I am a hardcore PVE player(will not play pvp or ops for a variety of reasons). I also have 111 avatars, so you could say I have spend much time and a considerable amount of money in support of this game. I also refrain from opinion. in reference, to changes in this game. It can’t get any worse than when I went to play the fallen empire and everything that I had accomplished and worked towards with reference to my crafts, my characters and craft designed companions was basically stolen from me (countless items, time, money and companions lost(or taken away thru concept change)) my cyber craftsmen have never recovered. The whole game had changed in one new chapter(FE). That’s how I see it… I always will say that is the point this game went south on an unknown path of demise. Also, it seems like every person that comes thru BioWare/EA says I’m going to balance these characters(everybody has an opinion on what a character should do and how it should play). These 16 characters will never be totally balanced(I play all sixteen characters, good and not as good, there are none that I would term as bad). What a joke. I can’t count the number of times they have been worked on, changed and balanced. If one type is made better then another group or employee says change or don’t change mine and so on and so on. Can’t keep everyone happy. Enough said. I believe this is the finest playing character/companion game that there is. If someone would fix the companion following lag or lapse time(rubber band elasticity effect), back to the way it was, there could be little complaint as to game play. Right now I frankly get tired of having to wait for my companion to catch up, makes no difference if they are a 10 lvl or 50 lvl, they all perform the same. When you are running, they can’t keep up with you or get to the interaction before it is over. Sometimes they jump to your location sometimes not, sometimes they get confused because of this. They can’t even stay in the same area that you are(they sometimes will not change elevation with you and sometimes fight from a different level, or go into the floor or wall). These effects, never used to be. I always thought their mapping was among best in the industry, not so now. Almost everyone I see has same or similar problem(this showed up around the ET expansion)and it is not computer related, I have four different 64 bit windows 10 systems and they all reflect the same. In other words there are a lot of things to repair and bugs to fixed before another chapter is added. If not, due to the vastness of this game, these bugs will eat you alive. Another example: main story line star fortress exarch bug which has been in existence since the beginning of FE, there is no excuse for this not being fixed. I have done these on some of my main characters back in the beginning but for a while now they have gotten worse, especially for the nar shaddaa fortress and randomly others. They are impossible to accomplish(boss room invincibility). This one bug has become known to all players new and old and whoever else that would read the internet. I have gotten to the point of bypassing the whole fortress thing, not worth the frustration. Waiting for the fix, which has never come, 2 plus years. The fear I have with this game is when someone starts talking about change (because of the today’s mindsets of gaming), it usually leads to something that involves Gods, Wings, and Dragons, (literally or metaphorically)… After all, that's what everyone is use to in other games. For crying out loud, this is Star Wars and if this game goes the direction of gods, then I will finally say it has died… To me this is the one game that is worth saving, so do what you must, but do it in the name of StarWars…, not other game concepts (too much of that has already been incorporated). I have gotten more wordy than I had anticipated, so to end this, let me wish you all the best of luck in your choice of road map. Regardless of choices, I will still be around playing PVE and offering my support thru subscriptions and the cartel market. Happy gaming Skinnerlee
  5. yea, Shea Vizla, to me, is bugged for stats. I sent a bug report in a while ago... She is about 2x low in stats at low levels and she is about 4x low in stats at a high levels. I force fed her to level 20 and her hit points are only 24511 at lvl 65. All my other 20 level companions reflect a setting of about 82283 and higher. She also does not change her settings with reference to the role that is selected for her(heal, tank, dmg). I hope they fix this soon. I tried her at different combinations, while fighting, she fights at the level the stats says, very poorly. Have a fun game Skinnerlee
  6. A Different Look At Companion Nerf. History: I am a professional gamer / programmer. Played games since games were only text (Zork was first) I am a founder, play almost ever day, since game was released. I am a PVE player(play within my own time and level of avatars, not pvp(all pvp always leads to cheats), not a raid player(to much drama, etc. etc. etc.) my choice. I have four sub accounts, with 62 avatars ( i was wondering how i was going to play all my accounts). Not a problem now. I was still going to leave them running subs. I understand business concepts, strategies, market shares, corporate philosophy. List could go on and on, but enough said. The challenge here is to remove the foremost thing that happened. The reducing of the companion stats was a Result, not the Cause. First to talk a little about something that effects everyone within a game, people who control or misdirect people. A generic way to describe this class is to group them in existing flamers, trolls types and regular people. To me flamers are opinionated people (most of us have that attribute to some degree). Trolls come in about five types: Company, Competition, Want to be's either Company or Competition and the Kind of Person that has no regard for anything or anyone. Most are use to control several things. Most commonly known types in any public game, are the opinion controllers both in the forums and on the worlds, yes the company more than likely has players in the game most of the time sometimes there is confusion because they are people that misrepresent themselves that you run into, but we all know most of this. They also become advance flamers. So this is the main reason I do not deal with the forums any more (Drama, Drama, Drama). Which leads me to the final group the regular people who just want to play the game for entertainment, escapement or just to have fun, These people are at the mercy of all forgoing classes but they are also the ones that are the money holders. To Focus On What This Is Really About. This company wanted to introduce a massive change into this game and chose the current path. They painted a picture of a pve game with ease of playing (market strategy). The thing they didn't realize was that the Fun Factor took off, that became a magnet to average players and new gamers (in time this would of had a sizable effect on the gaming industry). The intent was to take everyone's mind off what they wanted to accomplished and that was to destroy everything that everyone had accomplished in this game, this was done thru misdirection. That’s the real culprit here, not the people. Now that the changes were satisfactorily accomplished, comes the changing of the companion specs, to appease all the hard core players. This is not new for these people. Most expansions have things in them to help the change succeed. I remember rishi that had the 30,000 credit chests every five minutes then changed to half of credits every 30 minutes and over time it was halved and halved then went to crafting materials. Same with coffers they were halved, halved and halved, from blues that were 20000 and now blues are less the 5000 creds This is understandable because of the bots, key loggers, clipping programs and hackers that are in this game. All games have them but this one seems to be the current training grounds for them. Some have been here since day one, and they know it. This reason I said that paragraph, is because there is vast array of things that have to come into play for any business to operate and you can hope to only control some of them. In this current expansion the ball has been placed into the average to new player field of play (this is not new, games have done it all the time). They say tell us what you think and give us the stats and film as to why you think so. Total PR misdirection. Let me say this, I can play this game any way that it is. Being I have my accounts that I have, I can pretty well do whatever I need to. I have all 16 advanced toons lvl‘d to 60 and several lvl‘d to 65, this is so I would know all of the pve possibilities and to test their play, so I could really pick my favorite player types, which I have several. With this so called expansion (really a new game intertwined) I took one of my favorite toons, a commando, and accomplished it all to present point of chapter 10 minus the one and only. I took one companion, the marauder (i was thinking dps / heal, I guess u can't do that logic anymore) and leveled her to lvl 50 (some 1400+ commendations). The end result was she is severly lacking in a comparative play to what was (because of her being lvl 50 she should of been awesome and she is very far from that). I accomplished the upper end of the h2's for the most part on my talent, not hers. Of course the numbers reflect this. I have accomplished all h2’s with this companion and I am over geared for this level of pve. Yes I have all the data to support what I am saying about this toon but no you can not have it. I am not on your payroll. It is up to you all to provide me entertainment for my dollars. Basically that is what this is supposed to be all about (not batches of misdirection). You let me play your product in exchange for my money. It appears that the vast majority of your subs are not satisfied. If I were you I would be scrambling to fix this. You are trying to turn your customer base into fools. That will not go over well when the long term financial data comes in. The old philosophy that the customer is never wrong, no matter how wrong they are they are never wrong, will always prevail because like it or not they control your income. You could of had a much bigger piece of the pie, with this Fun Factor.. but you more than likely will have to settle for even a smaller piece. The competition has to be enjoying this. Your average gamer can not be expected to do your work. You know exactly what is what and where your are, that's a developers job. All of this flare is and was calculated to achieve the end result. And you all are not the first gaming company that ever has done this and you will not be the last. It's just a shame, that people do not learn from the mistakes of others. When I think of all the income that you have just destroyed, I just shake my head. Of course the gaming businesses would not of liked you taking some more of their business pie. That also could figure into this. I think this Fun Factor was unexpected and you never knew how to deal with it. So people, just don't expect to much out of the establishment, they are supposed to pay attention to your concerns but time goes on and people loose site of what is what, why is why, and who is who. All probability, they have to fight for their jobs everyday and more than likely more so today than before the change. I wish them luck, but corporations do not settle for my dog my cat stories, needless to say false directions. Enough said, happy gaming to everyone. And the game goes one...
  7. Four thumbs up, 6 out of 5 stars (ect…) I just wanted to take a minute and convey my utmost respect and gratitude to bioware and ur Devs. This expansion, to me, is so outstanding that it has put me in awe(with tears of pride) for u all. In my opinion you have just made this game the greatest game ever to be made, bar none… (trolls will be going berserk, trying to undermine it)(to no avail)). I am an avid star wars player (founder)(4 sub accts, 60 avatars (all 16 advanced classes (25 level 60 toons (lived star wars since the release of the first movie(experienced everything that has ever been accomplished under the star wars trademark))))). Yes, I am a retired man(play 24/7/365) and I am an ancient computer programmer(60’s thru 90’s)and I will play this game until I can play no more… I run up to 4 systems simultaneously. With my fair size investment, developed value and time I have in this game(I doubt very many could come close to my accounts), I had many up front major concerns about all the changes that were coming with the new expansion (swkofe)… but as I played this expansion I found myself not concerned about anything of the past… It was summed up in a question that was presented in the game… Basically it asked, what do you want to do about the past… ( I was playing a very playable new Knight) my answer was the past is the past and this is now, so lets go forward. This game has advanced so much that I really don’t care about anything that I had. The forth coming depth and complexity with this squad based type character play is very satisfying and the new flashpoints are complex and involved (imma a very happy camper)... To me, it is that awesome(hit out of the park). So congrats to all employees… you all have accomplished an exponential achievement advance, with this game. Feel sorry for those that never stayed with the game… or never sub’d. This post is for info only(not for response)… Happy Gaming Everyone…
  8. I became a believer, in this game, again this weekend. Why? For the first time since the beginning of this game, I saw people really enjoying themselves. Because of the Double Experience weekend, I spend it in Newby country Coruscant, and with the mixing of Bounty Hunter Week, I actually saw and participated in trying to help the hunters with catching their bounties with my new characters(I ran 5 new ones). What I saw over and over was, groups upon groups running their storylines, with their new toons and doing what I caught myself doing, helping the bounty hunters. There was what I called fun being had everywhere. This is what I feel this game needs to concentrate more on. This game is unique to the story and type of characters that you have. I think someone in this game can understand that this is not a standard game. It appears that most developments accomplished, is to make this game just like all other games. There is no effort to expand on the uniqueness of it. To me, the success or failure of this game is based on two things: Storyline and Events, that mix. I am, and always have been a Double Sub. I have played most of the time(even since we had to walk the first 14 levels of the game, remember that?). I am a Storyline player and I will be in this game regardless of what happens until the end. I don’t let opinions effect my game play. This weekend showed me that people are still looking to have fun with mixing it up with the basics. Again, I say this mix was a product of Newby characters, Bounty Contract Week and Double Experience Weekend. I’ll say it again, their was fun everywhere I looked. I didn’t even want to play any of my Topped Out Characters, and this game is still based on the Star Wars Storylines(I, as a Founder, really enjoy myself). Hope someone within the game notices this post. I think everyone needs to take a step back and really see that this weekend worked better than any other combinations used(In fact, from what I saw, I would call it, The Newby Weekend. The players really enjoyed themselves. Just from one Cartel Market Character(Treek), I couldn’t begin to tell you how many Treeks sold over the last three days. Many, many, many. Sales is what everyone wants right??? Have a nice game This post is for input only. I just wanted to tell what I saw, Happy Times that I haven’t seen in this game for a very long time. Have a Nice Game Skinnerlee
  9. The double Rishas, have always been. I have gone through several Smuggler’s and they all had same thing. Doesn’t effect game play, so originally I just did a double take. I figure their list of unsolved bugs, that effect the game, is too long for this one even to be considered. Have a fun game.
  10. Out of all my companions, Scourge stands in front of the rest for lack of trust. He never did ally himself and join the crew. A definite question when it comes to trusting… To help Vic out here, let me say he is my favorite companion. Yes, he is not trust worthy but he is like fire and ice. To me, he is the best companion in the game, you just have to watch out for his -81’s and if you fight him long and hard enough with correct gearing, you soon will start to reflect his attitude(there‘s another one for the corpse pile). I wouldn’t trade him for any other(I love the Range/Melee combo and he is my intimidating tank). He and my Commando’s are my toughest teams (I have all Classes). I have 14 over 50 levels. Currently 4-55 levels (that have completed Makeb) and will continue to level the other 10 (this takes some time because it takes a lot of armor for 14 characters plus 14 companions… That‘s 28 sets. I’ll get 2 done a week. Have a great game… I’mma pro Star Wars player and I love Makeb. Skinner
  11. Here's what my computer(crash) says: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: BEX Application Name: swtor.exe Application Version: 1.0.0.0 Application Timestamp: 51547cc6 Fault Module Name: unknown Fault Module Version: 0.0.0.0 Fault Module Timestamp: 00000000 Exception Offset: 20736563 Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Data: 00000008 OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3 Locale ID: 1033 I have same problem as everyone else... I can see I don't have to say anything because it is being said even as I write this. Plz get it fixed... lessons to be learned from past obviously weren't learned Have a great game... it's a shame, things have been going so well, doesn't take much to shake things up (expectations are high for this game and rightfully so...) 12. Hi Dev’s or to who it may concern: Please route to the eyes of a Developer, thx... How’s bout a name / character / cosmetic editing utilities. If your looking to make more money from the Cartel Store, why don’t you include the right/ability to change the character’s name. This, in the beginning, was said would to be offered sometime in the future. Also would be a good idea to offer a gender and/or cosmetic change to a character. These features are already coded in the game, so it shouldn’t be too dificult to adapt the code to some new wheels. I believe that this would be a large income for the game(these tools more than likely could be hooked to the legacy level and/or in game level. I know, I am willing to pay some bucks, in order to get this done to some of my founding characters(and I have many). I would really like to fine tune them. After all, these are veterans(mostly 50 levels)… I also can see how this also would be a great attraction to the beginners. Most initial characters are made in a haste and if given an option to tweak the attributes or allow them to try something different, I believe most will pay for. I run two continual prepaid founder accounts and just opened up a third prepaid account (myself and family). Anyhow, this is just food for thought. I know these things would make this Founder a very happy camper. Thanks Skinner: Force Forever...
  13. My my. Just wait till you grow up an try to get help on the big ones. Your in for a real disappointment. You need to try and form your own group of friends as you play. Very few people will go out of their way to help. In the beginning, I also was up for teams but never had much success. Most people have there own agendas. I also never saw a real difference with the shared features of this games’ parties. I always could run a mission or dungeon with much more profit by myself, and do it at my own speed, which allows me to experience all given content. But, the very biggest thing for going solo, was and is that you build a much tougher toon. I see party people all the time that are about 2 to 4 levels below average level. Which is the difference of taking the boss out or not. But the other side of Parties are that you have more fun… and do it faster. So, make your own friend base as you play and you will be way ahead, when you get to higher planets. Then comes the real fail of this game… when you grow up(lvl 50) you will need special armor and this takes much needed patience, time and friends, for several reasons. That is if you want to experience the upper end of War Zones and Operations. These levels are where you will find people are not very nice, that’s all imma going to say about that. Don’t get me wrong. I personally will help anyone in this game, almost anytime. That’s because I have played most content and most of my characters are developed. I’ll even go as far as bringing a similar level on, just to have some fun, because my higher level characters in a lower mission or dungeon can not die, so that takes the fun out of it for you. That’s also where I loose out in profit. I greed all choices. Just my nature. So, hope this helps you understand as to why people solo and not party…

  15. Bought it, never had a doubt. Been playing since day 1 and have gone through everything that everyone else has. Only difference with me, is I do not sound off on topics 50 times a day. But, to me, this question is worthy. I have two accounts and both are sups from the beginning, and always will be, regardless. I prepaid for both accounts. I run two systems at a time. I still love this game, even after everything that has happened in the last year. It was quite a ride for those that were emotionally involved. So, long story short. I will be here and I will purchase any and all content that is offered. I have played store driven games for a lot years. So, after you weigh and balance everything in this game, I believe SWTOR is still the best deal to be had. I never had a question about buying content. I also believe, that in the long haul, this game will grow and be around for many years. Anyone who has played games as long as I have should agree with me. Have a nice day and a prosperous gaming experience. I have 7-50 lvs, with 3 more very close.
