  1. hindsight noun [ U ] uk /ˈhaɪnd.saɪt/ us /ˈhaɪnd.saɪt/ the ability to understand an event or situation only after it has happened: With (the benefit/wisdom of) hindsight, I should have taken the job. In hindsight, it would have been better to wait. I cannot remember how often I had issues with Bitraider, having to reinstall the game, looking for workarounds with compatiblity and last but not least, the general server lag spikes. At this point I would not even consider asking for free game time, a payback or refund would be much more suitable but that is not going to happen for obvious reasons. As for the sorry excuse which BW calls story content, since they cannot maintain an MMO platform no matter how hard they try, I have seen it without having to play it myself. Which is a big plus in my book, sadly not so much in my wallet but the 50 days of subscription can pass without giving a second thought to Star Wars - The Recycle Strikes Again. GJ Bioware, you can now proudly stand next to The Last Skywalker Awakens and get Disnoids to pay for your dumpster fire of a product. What a **** show, moving on...
  2. I believe that you may be quite right with your statement, but one can dream...or just play something else, no matter how much one enjoys the Star Wars lore, which is the path I have taken. Honestly though, the topic of premade or not has no argument either way if there is no one left to play with... Now, people can gladly say that they have no issues regarding pops, if they are on one of the few "centered" servers. I just do not see the point of switching factions because, once again, a guild has chosen to "have fun together" and is ruining the que times. If you do not believe it to be so, the more ignorance to you, as this has been my experience on TRE for ONLY the past 2 weeks... Enjoy it while it lasts, premade or not....
  3. @ OP --- quite literally nothing and yet I have not been in a premade for years, all the way back to when Dxun Rising was my home, and I was in a "serious" PvP guild. So yeah... @Vixen Let us play spot the hypocrite. No, never mind. At this point it matters little as the only time I would get PvP pops (lvl 70) would be when they were followed by a cxp bonus. And PvP on TRE, which is laughable at best, the same faces, the same legacy names, the same (imp or rep, does not matter) premades, quite simply it has turned into less than a minigame. The only fun I had was below 70, and no one in their right mind wants to wait up to half an hour for a pop..unless you are a masochist, I could understand that. Just -- let -- go. The sooner people abandon this sorry excuse for an MMO the sooner we can hope for another (proper) MMO Star Wars game...premades or not.
  4. Look at it this way.... If the game shuts down it will create an opportunity for somehing else to be created, with the Star Wars name to back it up. If the game does not shut down - you have nothing to worry about, as even with the current low populated servers which slowly but certanly seems to be TRE as well heading in that direction it will not matter since you will be playing and paying for a single player game. Might be 15$ or more, depending on how much you want the bait, that is the rewards continuous subs "might" be offered. Either way, plenty of fish in the sea, the threads title is missleading on both counts. The game is still alive and kicking, and there are still options on where to "go", even if you do not think of changing servers but leaving the game for an extended period of time. Toodles, see you all again...maybe.
  5. @ OP The more you enjoy something..the more you will be emotional about it. This goes both ways, hence why we have people you "mention" in this thread, and the "other ones", often called white knights. I have been on both sides, now having a blast in Legion and not looking back on my canceled sub. Think I got a few more days left here but I have not logged in 2 weeks, as there is no reason for me to do so. Word of advice, let people go both ways, attacking or defending whatever they choose to. They are paying customers, the forums have moderators who (every now and then) keep an eye on what is posted. All that said..I am glad I could just leave, and I will consider coming back when there is something to come back to. Just my 2 cents, but I have never felt so ripped off on and about my money as I was with KotFE. Not gonna go into detail, enjoy the game if you can and do not take the forum too seriously, or think too hard on it...especially if it is written in goldish yellow/yellowish golden letters. "Because..it is just buisness"
  6. Your post entirely corresponds with issues I have encountered when I decided to take another toon through KotFE..and I still regret waisting both my time and money for being a sub all this time, believing KoTFE would be anything like ME/DA, or even such treasures as Baldur`s Gate and NWN. Even KoTOR had more to offer in terms of replay value, and do not get me wrong. I know this is still supposed to be an MMO, even though I have seriously started to doubt that. I usually do not bother giving feedback on my gaming experience but..what the hell, you only play once. 19 Days and ticking, so I might as well get on with it... Back to the topic, this happend before the chapters were being released. Chapter 9 had some interesting options but the grind became obvious really quick. Now, I do not mind the idea behind the SF runs and alliance alerts, it is supposed to be an MMO and people having played the same should know what to expect. Heroics are a different beast, but one at a time.... As the chapters were released I decided to get two more characters through KotFE. I have not felt such anger and disappointment with the repeating challenges of endless mobs, who are nothing but a hindrance in order to prolong my time of getting through the content I already knew in and out. On top of that, the choices naturally mattered. Only not really, or not often enough, or just did not have the impact one would expect but again, the whole choices matter has little to no impact on the gameplay, the route you take or the challenges you encounter on the way are the same. The only choice I can remember having an impact was the choice between turrets and shield/weapons. Laughable at best, no impact whatsover on anything, and I will add to that the companions you choose for chapter 16`s mission...it does not matter, it changes nothing. To be honest though, ANYTHING is still possible since BEWARE can still do right in KoTET, or not...really up to them, as I became more and more dissatisfied as I went through KoTFE on my alts. They have yet to prove that there is a reason to play the story content more than once...and while we are at it, at least give some individual note to each class. Even SoR had a single mission in that direction, having a "special" weapon meant nothing in the end as Arcann can be killed with a pointed stick. By the time I finished KotFE`s 16 chapters on my rep and imp main, I knew once again that I would have to suffer the same tedious encounters, especially on my healer toon, who does not even have a proper AoE to quickly deal with skytroopers. It was my choice, I wanted to see "the other side" of conversation choices, and what impact they might have...I must admit enjyoing the reunion with Vette on my jug, at least that made it worthwhile. With all this in mind, all that I still wish to add in terms of gameplay is: Either BEWARE got lazy and encourages this kind of gameplay, and thus its replay value, not too mention keeping or losing your sanity, depending on the fact that you are either from BEWARE or a customer or.. They are delusional in believing this kind of drag procedure throughout the chapters will make players believe the monthly content release is enough to keep longterm players around. Whichever it is, it has most certainly made me want to replay more of the "old" stuff than the amazing KoTFE story, which has plenty of loop holes I do not even want to address...maybe in KoTET, just maybe. Those who have gone through Makeb and/or SoR at least can claim to have had more variety, even choices, if not maybe in direct interaction with the world and thus having impending consequences like it was the case with the original eight stories, but at least the replay value was there to be felt. And although there was little content in terms of other NPC`s, KoTFE proved that a lot more can quickly turn into a meaningless chore, as was the case of all the companions we could collect along the way...just as a reminder, out of the 50 you could "gather", two of them mattered....freaking two, and I honeslty could not care less about either of them at this point. An honorable mention, just for the fun of it: The DvsL event, which was ok, as it gave me a reason to enjoy PvP below 65. The rewards were...just lol, no matter as I have not bothered going all the way towards Legendary. Unless BEWARE shows that the cartel market and its fluffy upgrades are not their main interest, and KoTET is followed by a proper daily area (as the heroics are a lazy way of recycling, a really cheap way of more of the same) I shall definitely enjoy reading up on anyone who wishes to defend the indefensible while I am on preffered status, waiting for a reason to give this game another try. Seriously though, as someone who has been in this game from the start, founder, valor capped and all that white noise...still no freaking cross-servers, a diluted server selection which raises questions to even consider this game ressembling an MMO, with an engine that cannot be fixed beyond its limitations...nuff said. P.S. To all the haters out there who feel like nobody has a right to criticize, I leave you with a remark I made last night as I deinstalled Swtor...it reminded me of what actually would be the final nail in the coffin of Swtor. Just get on with it, BEWARE. Add a freaking offline mode and be done with it....
  7. Not gonna happen, like ever... I really liked some of your ideas but let us get back to what BEWARE has always favored over anything else. Faster ques, and...nope, that`s it. For any change to happen our favorite mini game would have to evolve beyond being just a mere sidekick, on any PvE content introduced in this game. If any one wants proof, look at how long it took for PvP to get anything content wise, and remember in what form we got it and how long it took for "it" to get fixed. So yeah, keep up the good work and you know, hope springs eternal and all that fish....
  8. This is a very good point, another part of content upgrade/update that caused more harm than good in my eyes. It just seems like BEWARE wanted new players to have a greater pool of content to choose from, forgeting the part of story progress they constantly insisted upon with KotFE. That the xp gain is overpowered needs no further mentioning.... Then again, the whole leveling process has been dumbed down so much that I am not suprised how the DvsL event, among the many complaints and quite the dose of negativity, was still done by many of the veteran players, knowing that leveling in this game takes little to no effort and thus incites players to go for the event packs in order to unlock more cosmetic gear..to each his own I guess. There was and is very little memorable about KotFE, and although it has been some time since I did the trooper or consular story, I still recall the good parts that made me laugh or just outright suprised me...wish I could say the same about KotFE.
  9. What people get up to these days... There is only ONE choice that matters, it is the choice of paying for a subscription or not. Everything else is BS marketing that has been seen for decades, in any part of industry or venue. Right from the start I expected the whole "Choices that matter" to be just another sales trick, and having played everything from the ME and DA series I saw what "could" be the result of KotFE`s RPG storytelling. Just a few examples, as the rest of "the horde of fellow alliance meatbags (read, companions) is not even worth the mention, going by the player having finished the last chapter: Koth - was the most memoreable mainly because of the last chapter, and the only relevant choice that had an impact on the story. And even then the ending of chapter 16 is the same, with or without the Gravestone Senya - has her own agenda, no matter how you treat her she makes the choice of "saving" Arcann, and will maybe hold a grudge if you decided to shoot at her and her loving son Lana - even as a romance option...very, very little interaction with her Theron - bland, not even worth the mention HK55 - just lol, and I will stop right here as the rest is not worth mentioning, having to be sidekicks to deal with either a babysitter job for maniac and Major pussycat, or taking down 1 of the ships system..which always result in the success So...more to come in future chapters where choice could matter? Most likely..maybe, who cares at this point anyway. Personally, after having done all KotFE chapters 4 times, I now believe my money spent was not worth the content I was given in return. I have learned my lesson, I was subscribed since the release of the first chapter till the very end, and like some or many I am too canceling my sub, waiting it out for months so I can have a reason to come back. Do not get me wrong, I am aware that paying for a sub allows me "unlimited" access to the game, but having been with this game from the start there is little to nothing for me to do..and I am most certanly do not have the patience to chase achievements or collect cartel items. Just speaking for myself, this has been the case for over 2 years, the span between my leave has been increasing and will most likely keep increasing if BEWARE keeps it up with this shabby, cheap and bland content releases. Just my 2 cents, I made my choice....
  10. Spoiler ahead... At the start of Chapter 16 you are contacted by Scorpio, who tells you that Arcann is about to make a move against Odesan. She states to have told him about the location of your alliance base. The "dark" convo choice was something amongst the lines of: I am going to kill both Arcann and you. Scorpio replied with: Promises, promises. By now I have done chapter 16 twice, taking dark and light side convo choices. Not sure why but that line by Scorpio still puts a smile on my face...and reminds me of KotFE, on how choices matter....

    Im done

Welcome to the club. I have gone through the same dilemma for several months now, but it is all good. Once I am done with Chapter XVI I am taking a looooooong break from this game...and I am not coming back unless something changes, preferably for the better as these monthly content releases are just not worth my money.
  12. The only change I would call for is moving the entry level for PvP from 10 to 20. It is a simple change, and it would make little to no difference as even preferred get experience gain slowed down once they reach level 20. I am sure some would object, but it is not like that there are no other ways to get to 20 fast. And yes, there are some classes/specs which would still need another 10+ levels to make them "more" competitive, which somewhat depends on the player and also on your team, but this bracket is for learning anyway. Oh well, mini game for life....
  13. That is pretty much what I fear could happen in the future, the game slowly dying out until BW/EA just pull the plug. I admit being one of the doomsayers but I learned my lesson and wish for the game to thrive, so I have something to come back to. At this point however I am just accepting the reality that what I pay for is just not worth it anymore. I know that nothing I do or say will change the game, its direction or "destiny" even. Just for the fun, I adopted the saying: Thanks for all the fish.... I still feel like the people behind this game count on enough revolving doors to justify the state of the game they have been selling for the past year, and/or longer than that. Famous words by an epic villian: Do you even realize your potential....
  14. People seem to be taking this game way too seriously. Friendly word of advice: just take a break, come back when there is "more" to come back to. I must admit feeling like a sucker, having been a sub since KotFE was released, I see little to no difference or incentive for being one, as I could have just taken a break and subbed with Chapter 16 been released. I know some will say that the HK chapter will be wortth it, or might be worth it or something similar. But to be honest, at the current state of the game, for a player who has been around for some time I personally see myself as a sucker for allowing Bioware to sell me a single player game for the money they asked of me. You know the old saying, fool me once, shame on me....
  15. I just adore how often the words "we know what people want" come up. There is so much wisdom and truth in the saying: repeat a lie often enough and it will become truth... For people who are new to this game this Q&A means little to nothing. And yes, it is me just taking a wild guess but what I know for sure and can state as a fact: veterans and/or old players are fed up with this kind of crap. It adds nothing of value and represents not even a shimmer of feedback. I am glad to finish the last chapter and move on. I have always considered Swtor to be a revolving door, a game I come back to every now and then, but even I have noticed how little content is released with the monthly chapters, the story titanic Bioware is trying to keep this game afloat. The comment about PvP was and is just weak if you look at the past and present. If you are going to be proud of something desperately needed a year ago..the way it was implemented, not to forget ranked reminding me of a backdoor entrance this season...oh well, nuff said. I am just gonna finish this odd looking rant with the mention of class balance. If there is still some sanity left in BIoware they will never add a new class to the game, just going by their record in that particular department. They had and still have a hard time trying to balance the current classes/specs, the added mobility has made certain warzones quite a mess. Keep looking at the cash the cartel market rakes in, that should be enough to justify the state of the game as it is currently pervaiding the MMO genre it supposedly still belongs to, without any new group content being released or even announced for months on end. And thanks for all the fish...
