  1. Sorry forgot a couple of things Would be great to see a new LFG System GTN - Release not simple and easy to use, I do like how you can refine search results, but why is it a requirement. I do agree in a GTN Item Cap, but 50 is a little low. Im not a power GTN or AH person, but iv got stuff I would like to unload thats wasting bank/inventory space. Maybe up it to a 100 or something? Perhaps the possibility of some form of summoning system would be great, tired of waiting on groups...
  2. I know I posted a game review from my experience shortly after the release, but now that I have created a level 50 on both factions on 2 different servers, I feel much more qualified to make a game review for SWTOR. Overall outlook: Dissappointed Here's Why: Ya I know many MMO's arent the shining beacon of hope coming out of release, but you already had the fundamental building blocks from this games predacesor WoW. Denie it all ya want agree with it, doesn't really matter. These game's are so much alike from there vanillia version's, it's like ya replaced frostmorne with a lightsaber, slapped a new title on there, and gave us a 6 year old game. However when you clicked copy & paste you left out alot of the changes that blizzard incorporated in world of warcraft, that over the years made the game more balanced and appealing. Main Issues 1. (Population Imbalance) I don't know where everyone is getting there statistics, but the server ratio's are not 3-1. Hope on Black Vulkar and check how many ppl are on the Imperial Fleet, and How many People are on the Republic Fleet. There is more players in the high level zone's of the imperial faction, than in all the lowbie zone's and the republic fleet put together. Server Ratio on Black Vulkar is prob around 20-1. After you account the fact that half of the people on the republic side are just alt toon's from the Imperials on that server. I can run flash point's HM's/Heroic 4's any time of the day on imperials. Iv tried several times over the last week just to get a group for hammerstation on my Jedi Shadow. You know what fine do what you want to appease imperial player's, but when noone want's to play republic anymore cause there's noone to do things with and play with, you will know why other MMO's are taking over your subscriptions. 2. (Game is Lifeless) Ya the game's PVE Elements are fun, the fact that your characters and ppl you meet in the world actually talk, is the only thing that add's any form of life to this game. Most of the worlds are barren and lifeless, you rarely encounter rival factions. Its like you travel half way across a map to do 1 quest, then travel all the way back to do it again. The bonus quest don't even make sense? You just going to have us kill 20 of these 40 of these, then kill an elite? Any idea how repetative that is? Comon Bioware... 3. (Lack of Content) PvE is fun but once you hit 50 the only thing left to do is the daily dungeon grind's and daily quest. Where are these planet's? Vanillia Release of wow had such a bigger world, filled with many many more quest and things to do. You never ran out of quest, thing's to explore, dungeons to run... Ya I know it takes a little longer to make these worlds and fill them with quest cause of the new diologue, but were feeling pretty gimped. You don't know how many time's iv heard the game is to short, the game is to easy. You guys telling me you didn't see this coming? There's like 2 level 50 Planets... and 1 of them is PvP Based. What am I paying $15.00 a month for? 4. (PVP) (Class Imbalance)This isnt a big one for me, but this is a very big concern for alot of ppl, my computer doesnt do so well in fast paced high FPS combat. But PVP is incrediably imbalanced, I so much as enter combat with someone on my jedi knight, and im practically 1 shotted at lvl 50 in warzone's. Where's the minimum range, why the 30 minute cooldown's on there defensive capabilitys. (Ability Delay) I know you guys are aware of this, but the ability delays are killing me... Force Shock is instant cast where Project is like a 3 Second ability. and there are many others that have been brought to my attention. 5. (Space Combat) This is my biggest pet peeve here, where was the massive intergalactic battles we were promised, *** is this rail system stuff all about... If I wanted to play a rail system game I would go play Star Fox... This is so unappealing to so many people, and those that are able to tolerate it wont be able to do it forever careless of what they say. Ya I know I didn't by Ace Combat 6 or Tom Clancey's H.A.W.X but your representing a title here that revolves around a universe not a planet, Space Combat was a very big part of Star Wars, and your ruining this for me =( Ya I have been made aware of your plans for capital ships and guilds, but thats not enough. We want to have free roaming space combat, something as simple as battlefront 2 would be great, anything would be better than this. Im not paying $15.00 a month for a rail simulator or 3d Rollercoaster. 6. (Advanaced Specialization) You guys really screwed yourself on this one, I don't even know if this is something that can be salaveged. But this might seem appealing to players for the time being, but your long term replay value of this game will bottom out long before wow's did. You seriously mean to tell me I have to choose weither I want to heal or tank and can never go back? If I choose guardian ill never be able to duel wield a light saber? If i choose sorc ill never get one of those bad *** twin brand's or double bladed lightsaber. how gimped is that. Don't you think there is enough restrictions on your game as it is to have to go as far as to destine weapon restrictions forever at level 10? I don't even mean the armor but I wouldn't mind walking around with a twin brand on my Sith Sorceror 7. (Your customer service is horriable) I sent 7 Tickets in already, and 2 of them requesting to speak to a GM, and you guys sent me some boggus message back and and email, instead of making an effort to get in touch with me on my issue. 2 Tickets were forward to a specialist a couple of weeks ago, and you still havnt gotten back to me on the issue. Overall Summery: I love Star Wars, its always been my favorite trilogy, and this game has a long way to go to live up to the name. These issue's need to be addressed, and addressed soon. Some of these are my own personal beliefs, some of these are things iv gotten from other player's. But these problems are there. I know that this game had a better launch than some, but they didn't really have to do much. They already had a platform to start from, and a general idea of what they were doing. The new things like diologue options, and PvE Element's are not enough to make up for this games short comings. This review may seem very hostile compared to my last review, but iv spent alot of time getting aggrivated about these aspects while playing over the last month, and I would like to see a change, and see this game go far. But if these issue's are not addressed, they are going to continue losing subscriptions. And im not going back to wow, so help us Bioware... your our only hope.... P.S. Sorry for spelling... must sleep...
  3. I can see what your saying bud in a lot of ways, I can relate. When I play MW3, Ya I wish the maps were bigger... Getting spawned killed all the time is fun, but I can only expect so much out of a game that I dont constantly contribute to, and I understand. But if I play this game for 4 years, take that and multiply 15x12 then multiply that by 4 you get $720.00. Thats relatively what I spend on my car insurance each year. Alot of us have been looking forward to this game for a long time. If we plan on making that kind of long term investment to the games continued growth and development, I see no reason why we should not be able to have our opinions reviewed and some of them addressed. But we are not talking about simple things here or minor tweaks, were talking about aspects that brought the movies and heros to life to star wars. I assume Luke Skywalker was immensly proud taking down the death star the first time. But he didnt have to go and destroy 100 Enemy Bombers & 5 Star Destroyers in one mission to do it. It sounds to me like your not really here for the long run, or even much of a Star Wars fan, so im not going to go into big detail on this, but its just as much our responsibility to let the developers know what the consumer would like out of the game, as it is for the developers to bring thoughts ideas to life. If noone writes things like and is willing to voice there opinions on ways to improve games now and in the future, due to blunt critisim & blind judgements then im afraid we would all be playing astroids still or mario kart 64. Due to the fact that everyone wouldn't be to exited to bring there opinions and ideas forward, so someone can take them to the next level. Thanks for reading everyone!
  4. Hey everyone I really have never wrote a review before for a video game but this is my first one. I really hope Bioware takes this to heart. As I have grown up and seen the other titles and other series that were turned into video games. Most of them failed disastrously, but many off them offering something to the video gaming industry. Star Trek attempted to bring MMO dimensional Space Combat to life, James Bond revolutionized the FPS World of Video gaming today. I am writing this review in hopes that it will shed some light on and offer some motivation to just what were expecting out of this game. After playing this game for just a few short days, it is not hard to realize that the game engine was pretty much completely scraped from World Of Warcraft. Which is fine, many games use older gen games as a place of reference, and take there ideas and build on them. I have noticed so many similarities in the game I almost feel like you just took WoW, took out Frostmourn and exchanged it for a Light saber. The worlds are a little differently laid out with less loading times, and more running it would seem, as they are not so dense. Flashpoints Replaced Instances, Talent trees are almost identical. Seems the spells for a Jedi Knight Sentential mimic much of a Warrior in WoW., except I now use focus instead of rage. I notice new gear is going to be based on commendations which is relatively identical to the badge system WoW used. Mounts will be done much the same way, except those who had more money to spend get free ones, and don't have to put out the same effort, sad day when capitalism can have such a profound influence over balances in video games even. And so many more similarities that I'm not going to bother to mention, such as battlegrounds and daily quest and looting systems. There I go again, but anyway I can't really blame you because many of these were amazing ideas that Blizzard created and also took from other games that came before them such as Dungeons & Dragons, Diablo, Guild Wars and many more MMORPG's that paved the way for our new age MMO's. But something that Blizzard did when they created a game, was they added there own touch, there own way. They didn't just copy a game and slap a different looking weapon on it, with a new title and shove it down our throats, and get voted game of the year over and over. Blizzard has made some of the most innovated games I have played in all my years and of many thousands of video games. Dating all the way back to Diablo, Starcraft, Warcraft 1. They have paved the way for PC Gaming and showed us how to make a quality games. That’s why they led the video gaming world for so long. And just because blizzard is owned by a different corporation now, does not mean we as the consumer are going to accept any less of a standard from EA. I have played quite a few amazing games created by EA & Bioware. I myself have a lot of faith in you guys and expect a little better from you. I know that this game is brand new, and WoW was not the master piece it was molded into on release date, but they put a lot more heart into I think. Blizzard never let me down with a game, and I'm cool with you guys building from there master pieces, but I want to see you guys raise the bar. And if EA & Bioware wish to pave the future for our next gen games in the years to come, You have such an excellent opportunity here. Now I guess for the actual review, when I first heard about this game a couple of years ago. First thing that came to mind is, your going to bring my favorite series to my favorite type of game. Combining Star Wars into a MMORPG was brilliant. The best Series of our time, takes it's first major step into next gen gaming, with customizable characters, that actually talk and interact with the world around them. Running around a free roaming world with light sabers. Engaging with my buddies in massive intergalactic space battles, with my own crew. And the freedom to travel the stars laser blaster on my hip in anyway I see fit. And the burden of deciding the fate of our galaxy in the time and manner of my choosing. What could be better than that? I already decided I was going to be a Jedi a couple of years before this game actually had a release date. But after I finished my 3 day download of the early access beta, I realized something wasn’t right. The game was all to familiar, and in many ways rather restricting. The whole 3 days I was downloading this game so excited to play it, and after only reaching level 11 and arriving on the republic fleet, I soon realized my 24 hours of pondering if I wanted to use a Double Bladed Light saber or Duel Wielding my new tank was brought to a tragic end. Turns out I didn’t even pick the right class to use my double bladed light saber, and tanking with a 2 Light Sabers, wasn't going to be a part of my new Jedi Knight's career goals. So the 4 pieces of heavy armored I had saved for my advanced specialization was thoroughly enjoyed by the vendors of the republic fleet. I do realize that having so few of race's and classes to choose from, makes need for a little bit more definition from the 5 classes that do exist in this game, but did you have to take away my double bladed light saber? Especially since I'm regretting going sentinel after seeing the amount of heavy armor dropping that I was looking forward to using once leaving my starting planet. After learning this my plans to stay up an additional 12 hours passed 2 am, until the server maintenance prior to the official release came out, ended in a early night for a brokenhearted level 11 Jedi Knight. But even then I did not give up, There was still a whole new galaxy to explore! Following the official release of star wars! I returned upon the Galaxy Far Away, to a my new frontier of online entertainment. Racing through the Republics Capital of Courasant to embark upon a journey to the vast star ocean in my new star ship of my own design. Ya gotta say I think I cried on this one. Little did I know it would seem I had no choice in my ship, my crew, for that matter even my color of my new vessel of destruction which would bend the empire to my will. Hell after my first space battle the only thing I could think of was that last achievement I never got in Starcraft II Arcade Game. I never knew how much I appreciated star fox 64 until I completed my first escort mission in my new ship. Just somehow I thought we would be further along by now. Now please bare with me, lets take a step back here. When I think “Star Wars” the key thing I'm thinking of here is the “Star” of “Star Wars”. I mean even Star Wars Battlefront II had this one down to a science. Has to be one of the funniest console games I have ever played. Even the Space Combat had its appeal. When it comes down to it there is no Star Wars with ya ain’t got the Star part down yet. I know a lot of people played beta and early release so they already had an idea of what to expect here. But you really roped a lot of us True Star War's fans out with this MMO. You have got to step it up a notch in this department guys. Taking me on a 3D Roller Coaster ride is not the same thing as bringing Space aspect of Star Wars to life. You can throw every suggestion I give you away in this review. But don't take away what brings the idea to life! George Lucas went the extra mile here, I expect no less from Bioware! Don't get me wrong now, the graphics were pretty catchy, but how can I feel like Patrick Stewart or Harrison Ford when I cant even turn my ship around when the enemy ship was a little bigger than I originally thought. I know you guys say your kicking around Ideas for this right now on how to improve it. I'm telling you right now, you don't give us Star War's junkies the freedom to fly our bird how we see fit, your going to lose our interest. You can take down the graphics, you can slow down the speed, you can do whatever you got to do. But please make an attempt to make Space Combat an interval role of this game. If you remember just from the movies, Space Played a major role in every one of them. It should be no less for a game of the magnitude. I want to know what its like being a part of a Squadron of X-Wing's. Show my why the hyper drives in the millennium falcon were always broken, heck Show me why they were always trying to use them. We need to know what its like fighting against a massive fleet outnumbered and out gunned. What happens when your know your going down, but you plan on taking that Star Destroyer with you, by crashing your ship into the Bridge! Meet us half way, I mean I also realize we didn’t buy The Death Star Online. But this is something that cannot be over looked. There are some other concerns that I would like to bring up, but are some problems and things that im sure will be addressed in the time that fallows. 1. The game is vary spacious, but then again I can say the same about my reference World of Warcraft when it first came out. A lot of wasted space all over the place and it would seem like I spent to much time running to things that were to far away. But as time went on all of that was overcome by new quest, dungeons, events, and was made good use of. I'm sure that is what you guys had in mind for all the space this game posses. Once you get mounts I'm sure it won't be so bad. 2. The game does kinda feel lifeless like others have mentioned, outside of a dungeon, or a heroic quest, I kinda get a little lonely in some of these places. But I'm not very far yet, nor have I seen anything out of the core worlds. So I can't vouch for this on a complete scale yet. 3. Maybe all of the cut scenes involved, are not needed. Most seeming pretty cool and are one of the main aspects that apply life to the game, some of them may not be needed, and feel like they just kind of hold me back from what I'm trying to do. For example daily quest cut scenes are bound to get very monotonous. 4. I cannot express my aggravation when I was trying to learn how to PvP in this new world, when my first encounter was with a lvl 42 at lvl 19. Was a really exciting time re-jumping on a 30 second speeder ride, to just find him waiting for me to leave my base. To do it all over again after only 1 hit. Definitely some balance scaling that should be addressed here. Impressive Aspects 1. Some of the cut scenes are very well done, I actually believe some of the characters were really brought to life in some of these cut scenes. And I look forward to future confrontations with the characters I have meet in the story so far. 2. I love questing now, it can be a lot of fun. Seems like it takes a lot longer every time I go to town to get back adventuring again. But once I'm out there, it is pretty action packed, with quest and ways to contribute to my faction. The level progression system, the quest themselves seem a lot funner than me, than collecting 25 Skullspitter tusk from Stranglehorn Vale after kill about 300 trolls and getting gank 10 times. 3. Graphics for the most part are much more than I expected considering all the rest of the game expectations. It can be sketchy at times when I'm trying to show off my baller new hair dew to all my republic buddies but its not there anymore when I'm wearing my robe. So my human jedi knight is now bald. Unless I take the armor off. 4. The companion system has a lot of potential, I like the way skills work now in some aspects. A lot of buffering still needs to be done. And if a lot of these features in the game are going to come to life. Its my belief that your really going to have to expand. on this attribute of the game. As it is really unique, and adds its own sense of personalization the the environment. Might as well post this to, since I probably will not be posting anything like this again for sometime, but Things to avoid: 1. Don't lean to hard on this capitalism thing, if you want you customers to be loyal don't play the capitalist scam. Oh hey if you want to pay us more money then we will hook you up with all these exclusive mounts, and gifts that will not be accessible to the other players. In the end the main reason I quit wow, is it became less about creating a good game, and more about making a buck. Their ideas and content updates, expansions were less innovative, and was really the same thing over and over, with semi-new changes. Tier after Tier armors looked the same. Times are rough right now for a lot of us, and readdressing a new monthly payment is not something I'm looking forward to again, but I figure ill spend it on console gaming if I don’t spend it here. I figure if your fair to 20 Million Players paying $15.00 Bucks a month, and hang on to there loyalty, its more important to the companies growth than getting an extra $20.00 for a new exclusive Item from an extra 100.000 Players. While betraying the aspect we already paid for the game, now we have to pay more? 2. Failure to address Balance Changes. Ya a lot of MMO's are very balanced, but WoW's PvP system just never could get it right for me. If I wasn’t permanently stunned by something I couldn’t see, then I was chasing something around that Just wouldn't die. Keep on top of this, there’s no worse customer than an aggravated gamer going through new keyboards cause the druid just wouldn't die! 3. I stopped Playing wow about 2 years ago, I just couldn't take all the crap anymore, ya I know these games are designed for the more experience gamers. But seemed ridicules that I was constantly battling for patch updates, server queue's, add-on updates. Its great to have a conflicted and challenging game but please make sure that every thing needed besides possibly Ventrilo and a dkp system is presented to the players to tackle end game content. I'm not saying you have to give us an atlas loot and dps meter. But don't leave me chasing down addon's every week for the latest version of DBM and Threat Meters. 4. As a player that lives out in the country, please be considerate to some degree that some of us only get about 100-200 KBPS Connections, even thought we pay for 1.5 MBPS Connections. (144 KBPS was my DL Rate for this game) And I'm certain, that there will be some more aggressive stuff that will be difficult for us to do, I dealt with that a lot in AV and 40 man raids. But leave some light in the darkness for us, I would like to say that were people to. But everyone talks funny where I live, kinda scary.... Conclusion: I have a lot of hope for this game, I would love to see it grow, expand and get better every patch. I know this is a new playground in terms for EA, MMO wise not so much RPG Wise. But give it all you got, a lot of us Star War fans are counting on your team take a stab at the champion. AKA WoW, just cause you took something from it, doesn’t mean you can't take its place. Overall fun game, room for improvement. I'm not giving up yet. But that doesn't mean I don't have high expectations, well see how it goes, keep up the good work everyone, see ya on the battlefield. Not sure which thread this will mostly be viewed in so I will be posted it in a few places. Looking forward to some comments and reviews of my review.
