I feel like EA is going to take a big hit in subscription numbers from the people playing The Old Republic primarily as a Star Wars RPG. The MMO aspect of it has always been nice, and being able to group with other players makes the entire experience feel grander than traditional RPGs, I'll admit that. But a lot of players play this game as though it were Dragon Age with other people. Why should I care about subscribing when I can get all the content I want for free? The game is currently quite lackluster in the areas that you get for subscribing, in my opinion. There's what, like 3 ops and 8 hm flashpoints available at level 50? And most of those hm flashpoints are just upgraded versions of the standard ones. The end-game content does not warrant buying the game. And Cartel Coins? I can't even start on how much I hate the idea of those. I'd never use them, even being a subscriber, because it would make me feel like I wasn't earning the things I got. Back to the point, however...
For those who play the game for story, will subscription still be worth it?
