  1. I only resubbed a few days ago (when I found out about 12x) to try out a few storylines. I found I first had to regear around level 30. Up to that I just equipped mission rewards and whatever dropped. At 30, killing things became too slow so I spent around 20-30k on a few greens of my level from the GTN, rounded that out using the comms I had acquired by doing the mission bonus option and I was good to go. I've just gone through another upgrade at level 48 for around 40k. I have crafters (of every craft) but it just wastes too much time, time that could be spent in the storyline missions. Companions just get my cast offs although remember that when you get a new companion they will have of level gear for a short while. This still leaves me with around 160k. I have done nothing other than the storyline (although I took slicing).
  2. My experience of Tog has been nothing but pleasant. Originally joined their GW2 chapter and had a really good time there so when I decided to move over to SWTOR it was a simple task to join their SWTOR chapter. Was welcomed and felt included. They have regular events such as Ops runs and pvp alongside fun player made events. Not been with the SWTOR chapter long but whenever I log into game or TS I feel welcomed and at ease. It's also nice to know that should I move games again in the future I don't have to move guild. Can't recommend the guild highly enough.
  3. As Shadowcaper says. I assume you are mostly soloing unguilded. If so I would suggest doing the Czerka and GSI dailies, they are easier and will net you 30 or more Basic Commendations a day (check out Dulfy for guides on how to start and complete them). Then go to the basic comms vendor on fleet and buy your gear (with mods already in them). If you don't like the look of the gear then rip the mods out and put them in your favoured pieces. A couple weeks of this and you will find the Makeb dailies much easier and then can move on to the new dailies and elite comms for the next tier. The good news is that they just upped the tier available for Basic Comms so you are starting at just the right time. If you put your mind to it and don't mind grouping you can do the first part of it much faster and get geared within a few days.
  4. Quoted for truth. I would happily pay the ten dollars just for the trainer. This on top of the pet and being able to level up before others and get new gear and see new content was well worth the price of 2 hamburger meals.
  5. Thanks for putting this up. I have been keybinding for a few years but still had the movement keys bound (fwd/strL/strR) and then bound all the keys around them but knew this had some serious limitations. Rebound last night as per your video and although I am still getting used to the setup it is already apparent that my previous limitations have disappeared. The order you suggest (mirroring the keys to the screen order) makes so much sense I'm suprised I haven't seen this suggested before. Again thanks - will be trying it out in PvP tonight. I already held my own pretty well so a couple weeksof this and I hope to be doing better than 'holding my own'.
  6. Yes, buy them and trade them back within the refund window (which doesn't count down when logged out). The refund timer can be seen when hovering over the bought item.
  7. Must admit I have not seen this in any of the PvP on my current server. The system has some flaws but was designed for mixed levels, you can be competative. Obviously don't expect to be calling geared 50's out 1v1 or holding an objective on your own but there are plenty of roles for a team oriented player. Start out supporting your team and move on from there. EVERYONE is grateful for any help they receive from other players. I really don't get some of the complainers because dying a lot is just part of PvP. I never get upset at getting killed. Well Imma tank and it's my job anyways but you get my drift. Above all remember it's a game and you are playing for fun. If you are enjoying the game then your doing it right! ps - Also the HUGE MASSIVE gear gap at 50 - for average geared players (300'ish expertise say) is a few percent extra damage output and a few percent less damage taken. It makes a difference but not an insurmountable one and is definately not a path to god mode as a lot make out. I am at around 7.5%. So I hit you for 1075 dmg instead of 1000 or take 925 damage instead of 1000. Mmm not exactly a game killer huh. The actual issue with geared 50's is usually that they have a lot more experience in the warzones and thus a few more tricks up their collective sleeves to call upon.
  8. Relog (all the way out) fixed it for me when it's happened. Still don't get the wins back but future wins register.
  9. Few existing topics on this. The best idea that I have read (sorry don't remember poster of this) is that it is currently the wrong way round and they should reverse it. So you would get an occasional token for the lower level gear and commendations for the next tier up gear. That way the gear tokens could be exchanged and you could use that gear while saving up for the next tier with commendations. I think this would make more sense. So in a bag you would get Centurion token + Champion commendation or 3 x Champion commendations. Once at 50 the BM bags would give Champion token + BM commendation or 3 x BM commendations. Edited - For clarity.
  10. Not sure the OP understands the problem of faction balance some servers have. I go to Ilum to complete the daily. When I get there ALL bases are usually already controlled by Empire. It can take some time for a single Republic to turn up with a dozen or more Empire waiting. While waiting I normally queue for warzones. Now IF as he would like, Empire actually killed that lone Republic player flipping the bases we are waiting for then the Ilum daily would be impossible to finish. With the patch Republic players will never complete their daily (on some servers) because Empire will be queuing up to take turns killing the few that do go or simply control the armaments in the centre the entire time. This will lead to Empire players gearing up at twice the current rate (actually it would be Republic gearing up at half the current rate but same result) and lead to even more imbalanced Warzones than currently exist. If my interpretation of the intended changes are correct. TL;DR - It's broken now and I feel the patch will make it more broken for Republic on some servers.
  11. I'm doubting now wether I fully understand the pvp grouping mechanic or if I missed a change. To my current knowledge the max you can queue up as is a 4 man premade. The remainder of the team is then made up of solo queue'd players. Most Huttball matches I enter has 1 Premade either side with the remaining 4 solo queued. Some premades are better than others so roughly 50% of the time (random draw) you should end up on the winning side and 50% on the losing side. Unless you are good and geared in which case you could actually make the difference between winning and losing sides thus getting better odds say 60% win ratio. At least this is how it has worked for me in Huttball, as solo I win maybe 60%. I am Imperial and have found that we win 80% of faction v faction WZ's when they pop on my current server. Not sure if this explains anything or even if I am right. Just explaining it how I thought/think it works equated with my experience. TL;DR - For Huttball (same faction) I would expect you to win roughly 50%. (I pretty much only PvP)
  12. They are already well aware of this which is why they have already announced they are changing the way Ilum works in an upcoming patch. The way Ilum is currently implemented it doesn't make any sense to actually attack the opposition. That is a design flaw and not a player exploit.
  13. I have played both classes and there is negligeable difference between the 2 abilities.
  14. I do understand what your saying, I really do. The problem is that the poor state of the PvP system will see players unsub after the first month meaning they may not get the time to fix it as the majority of the pvp community will have moved on (or back) and will never see those fixes as it will be too late. I also understand their point of view too. Why pay to play a broken game when you can easily switch subs to another game that works ? Personally I think they shot themselves in the foot releasing the game too early.
  15. This worked for me too. Had it last night.
