  1. *raises hand* Seconded. I've wanted to play once since I first encountered one, love their aesthetic.
  2. It is nice to finally be acknowledged, though the cynic in me can't help but wonder what took so long to give us the same "we'll tell you when we can" feedback that we've seen for so many other things in this game. All the same, it's better than hearing the feature has been dropped. However: Very true, which is why I'll be making it very clear that the lack of word on SGRs is a major factor in me deciding to quit the game. I've grown very displeased with how BioWare is handling things here, and learning about statted gear being in the cash shop and the possibility of having to pay extra for Makeb despite being told story content would be free was the last straw for me. Normally I wouldn't make any kind of deal about quitting; I'd just quietly unsubscribe and go my own way. But I've been around through six incarnations of this thread, so I didn't want to leave without saying goodbye. I hope that the rest of y'all will continue fighting the good fight. When SGRs eventually make it into the game, I might log on again, but we'll see. Good luck, everyone. May the Force be with you.
  3. That's a little bit worrisome. Granted, I'm sure it would be possible to add SGRs into the game as free and still charge for Makeb. But I was under the impression that story content would always be free. Hrm. As always, we'll have to see what happens, but I still stand by my decision to quit the game and never look back if they charge for SGRs. That's just not right.
  4. Yeah... I apologize for my last post. I should know by now better than to post when I'm tired and grumpy. Sorry, y'all. If you can make this work, go for it - can't promise participation, but it might have merit. BioWare does something where they promote player-run activities, right?
  5. I can understand that going F2P might have thrown a massive wrench into BW's content release plans. I mean, if they'd planned for releasing stuff in huge chunks every few months, and now they're going for smaller releases every six weeks, that's a serious schedule change. But the lack of news on story content worries me, as does the vast amount of "we can't talk about that" coming out of BW. I mean, I've been looking into an upcoming MMO, WildStar. Been following it more closely over the past few weeks, ever since the F2P news dropped. And while the game's not even out yet, I've seen an exponential amount of greater communication from the people making WildStar than I ever saw from BW. The sheer amount they've talked about the fun-based philosophy behind the game, and how much they talk to their fans and include them in the conversations... well, it makes BW look pretty bad in comparison. The simple fact that they can go five months without even acknowledging SGRs despite how many times we've asked is starting to make me lose faith. What's really sad is all this sort of has me considering going back to WoW, even though I know it'd just be for a while before I got sick of it again. But hey, if I can't get what I want from a game... Also, I kinda miss Blizzard's humor. This game takes itself so damn seriously...
  6. That's possible. The thing is, though, there's a big difference between NPCs who are in same-sex relationships and playing a character who's in one with a companion. I do think that's really cool that GW2 has same-sex relationships as part of the game, it's great to see. But sadly, some people who would shrug that off would freak out just because they see a [Flirt] option when their PC is talking to someone of the same gender. As for people playing other games, eh, that's kind of the nature of the beast. I haven't done a study or anything, but judging by comments people make across the internet, lots of people will play one MMO until another one they're interested in comes out, and switch between them from time to time. TOR going F2P will only help with that. But hey, at least anyone who wants to experience SGRs should be able to do so for free.
  7. That gets even scarier when you realize to HK-51, that's foreplay. Agreed. I'm certain the two aren't at all connected, but it's great to hear this after community rep Ms. Berryman's response to me about trying to get more information about upcoming story content. More than anything, it's good to hear one of the devs actively talking about it and seeming pretty excited. Also, we just got a bit of new footage of Makeb in the video they posted today, so hopefully that means it's getting ever closer to done. And yeah, I'm still holding BW to their word about SGRs with new story content "this year". While I'm sure the switch to F2P threw one hell of a spanner into the works, which is probably why there's so much doubt about what's being added when, we've heard no word against their earlier promises. So here's to our continued hope, and to not needing to have a New Hope. ...what?
  8. Okay, ladies and gents, found a little something today: there's an interview with Gabe Amatangelo over at Darth Hater. Most of it is about upcoming PvP and Operation content; I have to admit, I don't PvP much but Ancient Hypergates sounds like it could be really fun. Anyway, we got this little bit at the end: Call me crazy, but it looks like EVERYONE is on full non-disclosure mode, what with the "only things I can talk about specifically" thing. But! BUT! The fact that he said there's a "massive amount of story content" coming makes me exceedingly happy. Not only has story content not been forgotten, but since SGRs were said to be coming with story updates, well, there's a hope spot for us. Time will tell, of course, but it's nice to get a little bit of possibly good news. Carry on.
  9. Maybe. Or maybe they answered it because I was (I think) the first one asking just about story content, and they wanted to acknowledge that. I try not to read too much into these things. The positive thing I'm taking from it is that she said she's going to try to get us more information. I still think it's safe to say that SGRs are part of the story content, so if we get any news about story content coming up this year, we can ask and/or wait to see if that content will include SGRs. As always, we just have to be patient.
  10. Actually, in my post in that thread (it's on page 6, if you're curious) I didn't ask about SGRs, just about story content. So there was no sidestepping, just Ms. Berryman cutting down my post to just show the question I asked without the reasons I was asking it. As for the rest of it, I just don't know. I'm tired of not getting answers. And what this thread's become just depresses me. Bah. Enough from me for now.
  11. With all due respect, that's incorrect on a number of levels. First, check the dev tracker if you want to know what kind of information we're getting from the community support team. In the past day, we've received information on item changes for the current in-game event, info about the new PvE and PvP coming with the new content, an answer to a question about schematics, responses to concerns about graphical issues, and clarifications about new content coming next month. That's all in the last day. Obviously, the community team can't tell us everything; they can only tell us what the devs allow them to. Which brings me to your next point. How in the world did you come to the conclusion that the community team is preventing us from getting information from the devs? That makes no sense. It's not like we all had a direct line to the devs beforehand and now we have to go through the community team. It's the same that it's always been - we get what information BioWare gives us - it's just coming to us through a slightly different format. I don't understand your thought process on this at all. BioWare has said before that they're not going to let outside influences affect their decision to put SGRs in the game. At the time, the discussion was about protests from "family" groups, but whatever these events of August 1st are that you're referring to, I doubt they would have any effect. And since we know that work has been done on SGRs thanks to the guild summit, it would be a greater waste of resources to not put something that's been worked on into the game. As for adding SGRs being a risk, who can say. Some people might quit because of it, some people might decide to check out the game because of it. Claiming that BioWare won't risk losing subscribers by adding SGRs is speculation, nothing more. That makes no sense. Raiding isn't done by a majority of the player base, yet BW has been talking about the new raid and the new hard mode on an older raid that are both coming soon. I don't know how much of the player base does PvP or space combat, but majority or not, they're adding a new warzone and some new space combat missions soon. So, yeah, that argument doesn't work. Anyway. In somewhat-related news, I got a response in this thread, asking about story content. It was the usual "we don't have any information at this time" thing, but at least the person who answered said they would try to get us this information. So it seems it's not just SGRs in particular that the devs aren't giving out info on, it's story content in general. This is of course speculation on my part, but I'm guessing going F2P wreaked havoc on the schedule for content releases, so it could be that BW simply isn't sure when they're going to be putting more story content out. Now that I think about it, didn't someone from BW say fairly recently that they weren't sure when they were going to release Makeb and HK-51? Hrm.
  12. I appreciate the response; thank you. I know you can't make the devs tell you anything, but I hope you can remind them that, for many people, the story content is their favorite part of SW:TOR, and hearing about new story would be awesome. Thanks again.
  13. Does any of that content include story updates, or story content of any kind? I understand that getting out new Operations is a big deal for a lot of people, but every MMO has raid-type content. SW:TOR is the only one with story content that makes me feel like my character is more than just a race/class combination and a bunch of gear. I know a lot of people are asking for a lot of things, but with all the new content you've been saying will come, can you give us any information on something other than operations, flashpoints, PvP, and space combat? Anything would be much appreciated; thank you for your time.
  14. BioWare hasn't said which companions will be available for SGRs, and hasn't clarified if SGRs will be with new companions or with the current ones. One of the earliest dev quotes about SGRs could be interpreted to mean they will happen with new companions, but it could also be interpreted the other way. At the guild summit, Mr. Erickson said that BW knew which companions they would do SGRs with, but put very specific emphasis on "We're not going to tell you." Things like these are a big part of why many people want to know about SGRs. Not only would we like to know how they will interact with current companion romances, we'd like to know if companions we already have at max affection will start the SGR romance line if they suddenly become available. Lots of questions, no answers yet; hopefully that will change soon.
