  1. Yes From page 16: Two things to consider: first the crit you get from Mastery is "bad crit" because it won't convert into surge when >100% crit chance (typically autocrits), so ultimately you prefer to have "good crit" than "bad crit" (talking about augs & flat stats, not relics) Second thing, the diminishing return on crit : you don't want too much of it. Even if main stat crit chance is not affected by critical rating DR, you want to avoid "bad crit" for the most because you will have limited stats anyway and "good crit" is more interesting. Plus, power have no DR at all. At least that's what I understood, wouldn't mind a confirmation.
  2. Oh boy I won't tell you that, because sin tank pvp is pretty strong, and because that's the spec I have the most fun with since last patch (havin' all classes) ^ Kre'a excellent guide cover almost all of it, so you won't need anything else, or maybe two little reminders: - there is a "priority" dps rotation in the guide but never forget that Guard>taunt>cc>dps/heal debuff is your real priority rotation as tank and that requires a lot of awareness (=/= tunnel vision) - about utilities, Kre'a have an agressive setup with Audacity/phasing phantasm but I had more success in uWZ with increased shroud duration + shroud when cloak. More shrouds are very good to mitigate guard damage spikes/ when tunneled and against all the force/tech damage around. So utilities are really matter of personal taste, as long as you pick Emersion & Haunted Dreams you can choose whatever suit your gameplay
  3. Sounds like a lack of Expertise (pvp stat). You should make sure you're at 2018 expertise, else you will be at big disadvantage. You can achieve 2018 expertise with the basic pvp stuff available in Combat Zone on the fleet (stuff + 2 pvp crystal that you can buy for 500 Pvpmark each, or for credits at GMT if you prefer) And you can check your Expertise on your character sheet, "pvp" tab. Good luck!
  4. Might be biased because I play Darkness Sin atm, and you are indeed right about nearly useless defensive stats, but I think doing what title suggest is a bad idea. For a simple reason: Guard is the sole reason PvP tanking is actually a thing. Defensive tank provide: Guard & taunts, ok mitigation & guard mitigation, 20% heal debuff but almost no damage Offensive tank provide: Guard & taunts, bad mitigation & guard mitigation unless dcd, 20% heal debuff and decent damage People go offensive tank to maximize their impact in fights. Should you up the defensive stats, it will be an incentive for tanks to play defensive tank again (would go from "ok mitigation" to "good or very good mitigation", so they can actually tank more, including Guard dmg) Now if you nerf Guard protection in the same time, provided defensive tanks already does almost no damage, people will either, stop play tank to play heal (if they're support type of players) or to play a heal-capable DD like Sorc or Commando (if they're versatile type of players). Or they will just continue to go pure damage: as Darkness sin, it may actually be a buff if you up my tank stats (got 18% native shield chance), even if Guard were down to 40% would still be a bruiser, would still hit hard while having a ton of hps, and heal sorcs would still be overperforming. In short: there will still be no reason to play defensive tanks. For it to happen you need either to buff tank stats & leave Guard unchanged, or buff tank stats, nerf Guard but also buff the overall impact of defensive tanks on the fights, all in the same time. Otherwise it's pointless, tanks will still have no aggro in pvp (luckily) and no reason to be hit (unless nodeguarding but that's a niche).
  5. 25% between 204 and 208 ? I wonder where you get that number. Didn't do the math but I'm pretty sure 204 stuff is not that far from 208. Given the fact 204 stuff is so cheap it's almost given (you should be able to be full 204 just doing the weekly pvp quest), the fact you got 2018 expertise when full 204 and the fact 208, althrough BiS, is not a huge improvement from 204. I don't get where you get the 25% (maybe compairing 204 no augs with 208 full augs but that's biased) Oh boy why? PvP and PvE are entierely differents concepts, requires entierely different skills, why shouldn't they require different stuffs? The game has already been simplified enough. People should get some kind of ROI when they commit in either PvE or PvP. PvP players will scream if PvEboys can farm PvP BiS bashing scripts, and PvEboys may cry too if PvPers get the same stuff they get without the same logistics (TS/forum/shedule to gather 8/16 players, that's investments and should be rewarded properly. Now this I can agree, PvP only talents may be a good thing for game & class balance. In short for balance purpose as much as for keeping every community happy, better enforce the PvE/PvP distinction than destroy it. If BW make it so some skills have a different effect whenever in PvE or PvP, I believe both communities will be pleased. But as things are now, PvP patches impact PvE too much and reciprocal may be true. Just look the last patch: PvP oriented, but ultimately it made both PvP and PvE worse (PvP with heals overperforming, PvE where some dps are not worth a raid slot anymore). Tl;dr: for greater good, better enforce PvE/PvP distinction than abolish it, for balance sake as much as communities cohabitation.
  6. Challenge. Simple enough. If you're decent at PvP and soloq'ing a lot, you'll have overall more fun imp side (imp vs imp delivered me some very hard WZ where everybody knows his stuff and actually try hard, those are the best warzones) But if you think you're a great PvP player, sometimes it's good to switch to Rep side. Because if you soloq Rep side, you will have to carry your team most of the time, keep explaining basic pvp stuff in chat, and have to try hard to win a single wz (at least on TRE). Can be exhausting somedays, but first, when you actually manage to win you got a legit feeling of achievement, and second, when you actually meet above average Rep pvpers on your side you can do wonders and feel pretty much like movie heroes, bashing the average weak-minded Imperials all day long. (and group them to do it again) Because Rep is forever underdog in uWZ, winning as Rep is a pleasure in itself. Plus, if you take an early lead in uWZ as Rep, I've noticed most Imps mentally give up and start wandering aroung killing red stuff (that's because they're - WE Imps are not used to fight decent reps, most of the time it's a one-sided stomp so when Reps actually fight back, we're so disturbed in our habits most of us just prefer switch their brain off and let Reps free win). At least that's what I used to saw on TRE.

    Cheats again?

I will. I tested it myself and it works reliably, hence my question about the neat trick/condamnable abuse distinction. Also submitted a ticket like a week ago, no answer so far.
  8. If a tank does 1,5M damage in a warzone, I assume it had nearly 100% uptime and spammed aoe all day long within a packed team. In this exact same setup Hatred sin will do > 12k dps Uptime is the key word here, warzone numbers don't show it but think about it a minute. A tank spamming aoe in the hearth of the fight during 10mn, and a dps nodeguarding: which one will have the best numbers in the end? But this dps, with same uptime and aoeing the same will do more far more damage (assuming he's as skilled as the tank). Another explanation for tank having better uptime: they are healed in priority because they are likely guarding a heal or a carry, when dps lose uptime when they go h2f or whatever.
  9. 25 pages long story: check this thread (/!\ don't forget to bring your popcorn) Short story: differences between 14 power augs & 14 crit augs is minimal dps-wise, alacrity (at a reasonable level) being an option too. Power augs brings ~1% more dps, crit brings, well more critical hits, alacrity brings resource regen & cdr as long as you spam. In short, "THE best DPS aug" is either power (speaking pure dps), or the one which fit your gameplay the most (some people just love having a good amount of crit/ala, or a balanced mix like in pve but w/o accuracy, which I believe is the most effective for dps in a setup where you spam, have near 100% uptime and are left freecasting your pve rotations)

    Cheats again?

http://i64.tinypic.com/27xm9n4.jpg typical situation i'm talking about (I know my mspaint skill is awesome) You end out of typical cap range, in this situation the range is more 30-40ish meters but should also work at 60m at least in theory.

    Sorcs and pvp

Oh, I was premade with him & Dukkha this wz <3. He surely did good dotspread, but could have been achieved by other dotspread classes if you're just looking at numbers.

    Cheats again?

Can tank 4 not-so-great people with shadow tank + a good healer, force shroud x2 can mitigate tons of damage, so I don't think it's a cheat. About bomb planting/defusing idk, have heard some ppl complaining but never saw it myself. It may be true idk But this thread is an opportunity for me to ask something. On Novare Coast, as Consular/Inquisitor you can put a phasewalk away, then start to tag objective & phasewalk away without interrupting the cap. I don't do it myself as I find it borderline, but how do people feel about that? It's not really cheating but it's not fair either. I mean, if people pay attention to tag it's not a big deal, not gamebreaking & 45s CD but it's still unfair & not working as intended (I assume). So, is this neat trick, mechanic abuse or plain cheat ?
  13. /1 star at least. Did you leave TRE J'eezee? =(

    Please Buff Trauma

True, also Trauma don't reduce Force Barrier absorption (as far as I know) so Sorc would come on top once again. I don't think it's the solution, but the problem stays: last patch reduced burst and DPS without adjusting HPS. A small overall HPS decrease to reflect these changes would be welcome (on top of a Roaming Mend nerf, but that's just my opinion).
