  1. Heh, yeah, this is really weird to me. I pretty much always play a healer regardless of game (or "support" class if straight healer doesn't exist) and usually it's a bit harder to find PvP healers, but in many SWTOR matches there really are a ton of us. It actually makes re-capturing objectives hard because you don't die, but neither do they so you can finish the cap. I wish I enjoyed playing DPS so I could swap when we're oversaturated. I just really don't have fun if I'm not playing as heals. =/ EDIT: I will say it's equally un-fun to be the ONLY healer with no tank once the other team figures out the situation though, lol.
  2. True. Though you know how I got to that point of typing speed? Practice, same way you guys (not you specifically) learn where to click things. The other advantage hotkeying has over clicking is that you actually can apply those typing muscle memories to other things (tell me computer proficiency isn't important these days). Again. Imo the biggest thing to consider is that lots of people were clickers, tried keybinding and advocated keybinding thereafter. Is there a post where a clicker got proficient with keybinding and then decided clicking was better? I haven't seen it. THAT, imo, is very telling.
  3. True, but not all skills respect the global cooldown (where keybinders have the edge), and any alacrity-granting skills drastically reduce that GCD as well. The other reason the piano analogy actually works very well is that the keys are always the exact same distance apart, thus muscle memory can develop. You can't develop the same kind of muscle memory if you have to move your cursor away from your hotbar, because then the distance to get back there is NOT always the same. Unless there's something I'm missing? They don't NEED to be. But it's also misleading to insinuate that there are no drawbacks to clicking over keybinding, because there are. The topic was not, "Can I get by with keybinds?" The topic was, "Is one superior?" I can type at around 98 words a minute with 93 percent accuracy even while having people talk to me the last time I bothered to test that. Are you sincerely suggesting that clicking stuff off the global cooldown is going to top the response that I can muster, when also factoring in superior movement and situational awareness I get from not needing to look at my hotkeys? This is possible because -- again -- my hotkeys are always exactly the same distance apart. If hotkeying is like playing a piano, clicking is like playing the violin -- where there's honestly way more room for error by moving your finger just slightly, slightly off where it should be. There is a tactile indicator that your hands are not properly placed on a keyboard. There is not one with clicking. There are tons of people posting (myself included) who used to be a clicker, tried keybinds and forever advocated keybinding afterward. I don't recall any clickers who tried keybinding and went back to clicking. Food for thought. (And no, before someone does the "hur hurr bragging on your typing I do 200 WPM" or whatever, I'm not bragging. I'm probably average in this techology-savvy age. I'm also not claiming to be super awesome PvPer -- but I'm a damn sight better than I would be if I clicked.)
  4. Probably because they're wearing old PvP gear, which apparently doesn't bolster correctly. Me, I could put on 4-5 pieces of PvP gear and see zero expertise change there for awhile. Then one more piece magically kicked in and raised me up over 100 more expertise. While I like what they're trying to do with bolster, it seems like a more competitive starter PvP set would have been much simpler.
  5. Keep in mind that expertise directly increases damage you do to other players, reduces damage you take FROM them and improves your heals. It's possible that even losing a little off the top of your PvE stats is still a net gain in PvP due to that fact.

    Casual Friendly

And am I the only one who enjoys open world PvP? Granted it's not as plentiful as I would like, but there's still room to start some shenanigans now and again.
  7. I have had PUG guards before and sometimes even with them helping if there are 3-4 DPS on me ... they get very little healing unless they wanna stand in my instant salvation with me. I didn't roll a healer to helplessly watch people's health drop, though, so if it was ever me you were guarding, then know it frustrates me as much as it does you.
  8. I make an attempt to keep everyone up. However, if I have to pick between the person who I know will play objectives and will help out when I've got 3 DPS on me vs. the guy that ... may or may not do either of those things, I'm picking my guildmate. That's not to say that I'll heal a guildmate over the guy with the huttball or whatever. But it's just about known vs. unknown quantities.

I'm one of those people who'd prefer to win on skill rather than a gear crutch. If that's "casual," then sure.

    Casual Friendly

Casuals keep the lights on and the queues popping. If the gear gap gets too big, new people are discouraged from playing -- and as old PvPers quit/move on, you start complaining about long queues and fighting the same people over and over instead of griping that you can't gear your way to absolute victory. Also, did this really need another thread?
  11. Sarie's PvP set. Still missing the Gree lightsaber (not quite enough rep till next time) and I changed her skirt ... but haven't taken a cooler screenshot since. http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/903255624368659638/09BB3B098DB3664488CAF3C299CFF8E233B1DD16/ http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/903255624368654586/BF1767BDDAE3D55DB38FFD7E3733BA560AE4B108/
  12. This is actually her PvP set and I later swapped skirts. Still need that gree lightsaber too, but I won't have enough rep until next time the event comes around. Sarie 1 Sarie 2
  13. You should know better than to have taken T7's restraining bolt off. Glad you got it sorted!
  14. Easiest way to see what companions you have available is to click on the diamond icon up at the top of your interface. It'll show all your companions and to the right will be an arrow button > Click that to summon the companion you want. Do be aware that sometimes companions are temporary until you complete further quests. You might also want to check that the questlog doesn't specify to take a certain companion with you. If it does, be sure you summon the right one.
  15. If you are guarding an objective, type in chat if the other team is coming to attack it (and how many, and do it BEFORE they get there and you're dead). Don't ever leave an objective completely unguarded. Respond if someone else at an objective calls for help. ^Do those three things and unless you get the random nerdrager on your team, people will be fine with other mistakes you make. I'd also advise to start PvPing before you hit 55. Lots more people still learning the ropes like you at low levels.
