  1. What are we supposed to do, keep starting new ones?
  2. Well, this is me. I've lost about 75 pounds since then, but I don't have any recent pictures. Everyone else looks so normal. Aren't we all supposed to be cheetos-stained losers who live in our mothers basements? http://s138.photobucket.com/user/ziphii/media/HPIM0675.jpg.html
  3. I think maybe they thought that would take us over the threshold into really weird pseudo relationships. I already think it's kind of weird that people "marry" the pixels on their screen. Which they pretty much control. It's not really another person. It's creepy and I don't get it. But if you could have a family, maybe people would really start thinking that was their life. Their job is raiding or dailies, they get home at night and vette has made dinner, they watch some entertainment, put the kids to bed. That is a little weird, even if you role-play (which is fine, imo, as long as the other person is a ... person).
  4. I wonder if I am working on the wrong tree. I've been going up assault specialist, but you guys are all recommending grav round, which I don't get. I just hit 28. and here's what I do: Mortar Volley>hammer shot> plasma grenade, then they are usually up in my grill, so I hit stockstrike and pulse cannon. I usually throw in sticky grenade when it's on cooldown. Should I switch to gunnery? Or is my rotation wrong? I don't usually die (although I have trouble with the gold star level enemies), but sometimes my companion does (usually M1-4X cause he annoys me the least). And I usually finish a fight with more than 3 mobs at pretty low health.
  5. I've been playing for about 5 months now, but I'm still a noob. I haven't gotten any character to 50, I think my highest level one is 27. I like the republic side more, feels like where I would want to live irl. My "main" if you can call it that is a trooper, and I really like her. I also like the jedi consular and knight. There are a lot of things in this game that are not obvious to a new player, even just finding out which stats are for my character... it's not posted anywhere that I could find, so I've been guessing. I also haven't done any FPs except with the one friend I know irl who plays. I'm too worried about not knowing what I'm doing and causing a wipe. But I love this game, and am really looking forward to the expansion.
  6. But rata, they will get a benefit when something else drops that they get to roll need on due to social convention. So they have to gear up their companion some other way, but they benefit from this system too, because they don't have to take their chances when an upgrade for their character drops.
  7. I read every post in this whole damn thread. Where's my cookie? In regards to the topic, it seems that we are all in agreement on one thing: communication about loot in a group is a good thing. The vast majority agree that there is a social convention of need for character only, greed for companion or selling, pass if not interested. If you're gonna break social convention, the obligation is on you to notify the group. If you don't ask first, wait until everyone else has rolled greed and then roll need, you deserve a warning and then a kick from the group if you do it again. As far as punishment goes, that fits the crime, imo. The people who get called out on fleet should be reserved for people who, like the op, have been advised of convention, understand that when they need after everyone else has greeded they are stealing loot from others who may "need" it as much as they do, and then do it anyway. We aren't going to convince the people who disagree with this convention, but it *is* nice to see so many people who still follow some courtesy in groups. In wow, that sentiment died a long time ago (except in guild groups).
  8. Not to mention "that other game" but it has always worked that way with wow. You can't level past the basic level, can't increase crafting skill, can't visit new zones, can't start new races. That's what expansions are, in my experience. But the wow expansions cost at least $40. So $10 doesn't seem that bad.
  9. Admittedly, I haven't been everywhere yet (only made it to tatooine), but it is so nice that we don't have to kill huge spiders all the time. I hate spiders in real life, and that's one aspect of MMOs I will gladly bid adieu. Give me a set of aliens or droids anyday.
  10. Normally I just find Qyzen annoying, but he's kinda cute in this picture!
  11. That may be true, but it will never change unless we start being the change. Just sayin'
  12. This would be an big help. One thing I always struggle with is that I don't even know what I want to order. This would be really helpful for those of us not in large guilds already.
  13. If people are fighting next to a node or quest item, I assume they are going to harvest the item when they are done fighting... why else would they engage those specific mobs? Just move along. But if they are just standing there and not fighting or harvesting, then yeah, knock yourself out. It's not that complicated.
