  1. It's nice to see that there are others out there that are like me. However I can't help but see that some of you may - correct me if I'm wrong - believe I am an antisocial person which is quite the opposite I assure you. After all my job has me "social-ing" with ppl all the time. It's just I've been in many teams before and I made the whole team fail before simply because I'm confused or hesitant. PvP would have me playing in groups a lot more than PvE and the thought of failing the team because of me is intimidating. However I do appreciate all your opinions out here and there are some really good ones too. Nice to see what you guys think. Helps me keep myself on track, you know what I mean?
  2. I'm not sure what you mean by "Republic Tunnel Vision Syndrome"? Sounds kinda funny too.
  3. Thanks a lot for all your advices. I'm really grateful and it is much appreciated. In that case, since the trooper is my favourite class, maybe I'll start troopering it up in PvP and give it a shot. Thanks every!:):)
  4. Hey there everyone! First of all let me say that I am a rather shy and introverted person and SWTOR is my second mmorpg, and the first that I've played for a long time. I have played this game for quite some time now and as previously mentioned, you would understand why I rarely play in groups and why my characters have really low to no social points at all (plus I play late at night since I get of work pretty darn late too). Also due to such reason, I am a huge PvEer and I don't have a single character on PvP. However I've been reading a lot of articles and forum threads and came to understand that a lot of sweet gears and weapons can be obtained through PvP, but I've always had a huge fear of getting my hiney whooped by some other player (especially an empire player since I'm a hard line republic player) and also I'm especially afraid of letting my team mates down if I ever join a group and I hate to be the one failing the team. However I'm willing to give PvP a shot with a little opinion from you guys. So what should I do? Should I play PvP? Any opinions in convincing me to start my journey down the PvP road? Please help out a fellow player, it would be much appreciated. Thanks a lot!!
  5. I believe that the inheritance gear isn't for the character you're currently playing after all it's about legacy and inheritance. It's meant for your current character to send by mail to a new character that you've created so that they would have a boost during their beginning levels. The currency that you use to buy the legacy gear can only be obtained during high levels which implies that it is gear not meant for you currently played character to use. It's more of assistance thing rather than "use-it-long-term" thing. My commando got a inheritance blaster rifle and I sent it to my vanguard that was a fresh and brand new character. I equipped the rifle and it worked out fine on Taris all the way till the end of Nar Shadaa character quest line.
  6. Wow! Hard mode n Nightmare mode. This will be tougher than expected. Thanks a lot for the tips though everyone:)
  7. Hmmm I think I understand, still a bit confusing at the moment.
  8. Heya!! First of all I would like to say that I've played literally every class this game has to offer (except Sith inquisitor) and I must say that the trooper was my favorite class and my two troopers are my favourite characters. I've been trying extremely hard to acquire myself a set of Dreadguard armor but so for no luck.... Not even a single piece of it. Now hold on there just a sec, cuz I know what you'll all say. I should go find it in PvP correct? (Correct me if I'm wrong:p), however unfortunately I'm no PvPer and probably would get my hiney whooped if I went up against other players, so having said I am a huge PvEer. So the question is....- *take deep breathe:eek:*- where, when and how can I get the Dreadguard armor set for trooper? If anyone can help a poor sad sap, it would be much appreciate. THANK YOU:D!!!!
  9. I think we don't have enough of these modification stations. I don't know if there are any people out there who face the same problem, but I find myself constantly having more advanced enhancements, armor, barrels and what not to upgrade my gear with. Especially when I run into a bonus series after finishing missions on a planet, I'd very much like to upgrade my gear on the planet and not the fleet before starting a bonus series because it makes things easier going through the missions. So like I said, I believe we need more of these stations for convenience sake.
  10. I think, that the blaster rifle should be a weapon that both classes can use, which in this case it is. My point is that the vanguard shouldn't specialize in the blaster rifle, merely to be able to use it is enough. Instead, since a definition of a vanguard is someone who would fight in close range to melee, I believe that that VG should be specializing in some close range weapon like a scattergun, submachine gun like blaster or some sort of blaster carbine for close range attacks. On the other hand the very definition of a Stern-Guard is someone who would fight from afar with hulking heavy weapons in a defensive position, directing towards a large open field to provide base of fire....... which is exactly what the commando is. However, being that both classes are soldiers, the soldiers most basic weapon he/she needs to learn in boot camp is the simple rifle itself. So as I said earlier on, the blaster rifle should be a neutral weapon that both classes should have special abilities on. Just saying......
  11. A very elaborate explanation, much appreciated. Thanks a lot sleepy king. So first thing's first I need to get my commando up to level 50 in order to do augment slots, got it! This shouldn't be to hard then, since my character is getting close to level 50 anyways. THANKS!!!:D
  12. Firstly, thank you all for the warm welcome and the great advices to which I am extremely grateful, really appreciate it. If using an augment slot is not the same as upgrading purple or orange gear then would it be a wise choice to just simply augment an orange gear to boost the stats. Moreover if finding better gear is better than upgrading a green gear then there's really no point in upgrading it in the first place correct? Since a MK1 augment slot is not to useful then perhaps there's really no point in using it as well, right? Holy moly! I heard that this augment slot thing can't be thought with common sense, but this whole process is really taking its toll, real confusing! Currently, I'm trying to make my commando the best character I have since it's my first character and trooper is my favorite class. Got to learn all the stuff and focus it by applying it to my character. In any case, thank you all so much for the much needed help.
  13. Heyo! Sorry, but this maybe a noob question, nonetheless I couldn't find info anywhere else. Recently I've acquired several MK 1 augment slot gear after reverse engineering some of my Synthweaving gear from my consular. I found a green gear that looks pretty good and wish to add augment slots on it so that (if possible) I can upgrade it like orange gear hopefully. Problem is that after I upgraded it with an augment slot, I have no idea what to do next. I can't seem to add mods purchased via commindations and so I'm confused. I have no idea whether I'm doing this whole augmenting process right or wrong, no idea if it's even possible or what comes next. Can anyone help a newcomer that's still learning about this game (let alone new to MMOs since a brief dip on Everquest which was a boring game btw ) on this issue. It would be much appreciated. As a massive Star Wars fan, this MMO is the only MMO I find amazing. Thank you all.
  14. Ya I do understand partly the basics of legacy system. Still need some time to familiarize myself with it. In any case you've all been real helpful. Thanks again. I'll try to get my characters up to speed.
  15. There's still a lot of stuff for me to learn in this game since I'm relatively new to MMOs. Read, watched and played Star Wars since I was a child but this is all still fresh in my system, if u know what I mean. I still don't know how the legacy system really works among with many other things that I don't know as well. I figured that I would learn it through time and experice while playing the game. I'm already trying to do the impossible given my status to get a Pureblood Sith Republic Vanguard and a Jedi Sentinel. Lolz. So far so good. Still got a ways to go with my commando.
