  1. First off, I never played WoW so I'm not sure how that's "quite obvious" to you, but I know it had the dungeon finder which was implemented after launch and I've seen it used while at friends' houses and stuff. Why take that step backwards and remove a tool that was so helpful? How would XBOX gamers feel if the 'Find Game' option on COD or Battlefield went back to the old school days of having to find people to play with yourself? Or scrolling through a huge list to find a game with an open slot? It's a step backwards. Second, I can make friends. There's 18 people on my friends list whom I've added when grouping up to do heroics, and I'm in a guild with 280 members with around 60-70 online in peak hours. And yet, when I post that ever magical "LFG" comment into guild chat or to my friends, they're often busy questing. Or quite often I get two who say yes and then we can't find that illusive tank/healer and we all just forget it. Plus, I'm from England so naturally play on a UK server. After around 11pm during the week the game is dead. So am I supposed to just stand around doing nothing in the fleet if I want to play after 11? Also, I find it a little silly when people keep saying that we expect to find a group with little effort. Of course we do. Since when did a computer game have to require effort? It's a game. Of course if I want the high level gear and everything then that requires effort. But suggesting that a game should require hard work and effort to find 3 other players to play with is ridiculous. I understand that not everybody wants such a system, but there are too many fanboys who are so dead set on this game being as different from WoW as possible that they just won't accept that some tool is needed - whether it's an automatic finder or something else. On top of that, if such a tool was implemented, it could always be made only available to certain servers so that people who wish to look for groups the current way can still do so. There are ways around the issues and suggesting otherwise is just plain ignorance.
  2. I really don't understand people who say that a finder would destroy the community. That's rubbish. People who actually care about community usually are in a guild and therefore have a large group of people to play with. And those who keep saying to just type LFG/LFM into the general chat are either really lucky or don't do it much. Or they're healers/tanks. Because I'm DPS and it takes over 30 minutes that way. Plus, ninja looting could be solved by simply not allowing you to 'need' on something that your class cannot use. For example, Sorcerers can't 'need' on medium/heavy armour or double-bladed lightsabers or guns. This might anger some people, but you could even show an 'options' box before you add yourself to a queue where you can decide which rules you'd like to play with and then it'd group you with others who want the same. There's really no excuse and not having a finder is really a step backwards in my opinion.
  3. While I understand the intention of leaving out a dungeon finder of some sort, it's really needed. I know BW intended to build a community and encourage communication with players, but what they've really done is the opposite. More often that not, it's me and one or two others spamming general/guild chat trying to find a 4th person and we can't, so we have no choice but to abandon the group. And then sometimes I really feel like grouping up, and after spending 5-10 minutes looking to no avail, I end up getting bored, giving up and logging out. I'm at level 50 now, so all I really want to do is flashpoints/operations since I'm not a PvP fan at all. But it's damn near impossible to find a group, especially after around 10pm during the week. If there was a cross server queue option then I'd be more than happy to play through some flashpoints with people on US servers when it's late here. And that's not to mention that even when you can find 3 other people to join you, it's rare that you can find a tank, healer and 2 DPS. Usually it's a tank and 3 DPS and off spec healer or something. Finding a tank for hard mode flashpoints is pretty much unheard of. This is a pretty high priority complaint for me.
  4. I forgot it's name, but it's the big troll looking one. Not the big tiger type thing.
  5. Just to confirm, I got the +33 crit and the +33 endurance Magenta schematic from the Hoth world boss. Still yet to see purple or white though.

    Artifice...

The chance to learn the upgraded version is totally random. I have 400 artifice now and there have been times where I reverse-engineer a green over 50 times before getting a blue, and reverse-engineered that very same blue and got a purple first time. Unfortunately you're just getting really unlucky. Keep trying and you'll get it.
  7. I spent 30 minutes the other night looking for a group because people kept saying they were up for it and then backing out and because we kept having to wait for another person who was miles away. I'm not asking for a system similar to WoW, but something is needed. I wouldn't even mind if it required you to be in the area of the flashpoint or quest to use. So that way you'd still have to travel to that city at least before using the finder. The spamming the chat and hoping for some decent people to show up doesn't work for me personally.
  8. I'm on a late 2009 iMac and currently really struggling with frame rate even with everything on low settings. The graphics card is pretty low end but I exceed the minimum requirements. I'm getting about 15fps on low settings, but there are times where I get 30-40fps. Currently holding out from redeeming my registration code because I'm not sure if I'm being affected by the FPS problems people are having, because it should be playable even with my fairly low spec system. Running Windows 7 64bit.
  9. I just got given a quest called Black Talon which it says is a group quest, but in my quest log it's green, so does that mean that this particular flashpoint is easy for me? Or can you replay them on harder difficulty as you level up? Otherwise surely by the time you reach 50 most flashpoints will be really easy? I don't get it.
  10. Gonna bump this. Do Bioware even know about the problem? There's been no statement about it, even in the known issues thread.
  11. For most of us it is NOT a computer issue. Many of us have top computers and are still having trouble, while many of us should be able to run it at LEAST on low settings at 24fps. At times I get 35fps+, but then in another area it drops to less than 15. In cutscenes it's always over 25. I've even seen it go up to 50fps for short bursts. If it was my computer then surely it'd just be low all the time, no? Also the areas where it's around 30fps are areas with a lot going on like the Sith Academy. But then it drops in places like the Imperial Fleet where nothing is moving. It's got to be a Bioware issue. I just wish they'd put out some sort of statement acknowledging the problem.
  12. My FPS is so inconsistent. Some areas I get 40+fps, and others I get less than 10fps. It's ridiculous. Shadows are all off and everything. Have bioware made any kind of statement about this? It seems to be a pretty widespread issue.
