  1. Yes, I have noticed with Lana, she doesn't show in the cut scenes the way I have her outfitted.
  2. Why haven't the black and yellow crystals been updated? Max level 136? How hard could it be to make higher level crystals? Come on devs, show some love to the people that originally believed in this game. I really like the black and yellow lightsaber.
  3. They are straight pussboys afraid of the big leagues. The people that were here the first few months after release had to level in a single bracket and had it much worse then people in their welfare gear in the 50 bracket have it now. Guess what, everyone in the 50 bracket died thousands of times getting there, it's not a frigging big deal.
  4. What do you think this is Star Wars Galaxies? SWG's dev's must be laughing their azz of at this point. If they didn't get the exclusive IP rights taken away they would still be running a subscription MMO.
  5. I agree with the OP's basic premise of the devs narrow vision. This game is way to linear (plays on a rail) for this market. It has almost no replay value as far as leveling different classes. Other then the class storyline they all do the exact same quests, and level in the exact same areas. It is missing things that are standards in a modern MMO like FULLY customizable UI (IE 3rd party), housing, LFG tool, day/night cycles and weather, many more character creation options and an appearance tab (so everyone doesn't look the same), etc. They don't even have a decent way to search and filter the GTN. What passes for raids in this game are simple and boring compared to what SOE and Blizzard do. The PVP is non existent in the open world. The warzones are cool but they need a LOT more of them. The mistake these devs made was not that they copied WOW. Their mistake was not copying enough and dumbing everything down compared to other MMO's. Since taking some time off to play ME3 and Diablo3 I've really had no desire to log back in, and like the OP will let my sub run out. If they want to compete in this market they definitely need major improvements. When you have masses beginning to quit two months after release because they're bored you clearly don't have a lot to offer as far as depth and content go. The only thing keeping this game from being completely dead is the Star Wars IP. The valuable IP will at least buy them some time to make improvements. I hope they do, because I'm a Star Wars and Bioware fan and want SWTOR to succeed. And to the fanboys who can see nothing wrong, you need only look at the catastrophic loss of subs to see there definitely is a problem. Successful MMO's do not lose so many subs so soon after release, that's what happens to failure MMO's.
  6. Sandbox > Themepark every time. One thing I know for sure is people weren't bored in SWG 2-5 months after release. I've taken a few weeks break from this game to play ME3 and a couple other games and honestly I haven't really missed SWTOR. There's just nothing to do interesting other then warzones for me, and the same 4 with the same people over and over has gotten boring. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that BioWare knocks one out of the park with these upcoming expansions, but judging from what I've seen the first 5 months I have serious doubts. Everything in this game is just so dumbed down compared to other popular MMO's.
  7. Yes that's what I was saying. I think it's good to get the SC set IF your going to play a tank role as the 20% extra DR seems worth it to me. Mitigation doesn't work on every attack, but IMO it works enough to notice. (I did experiment with both champ sets pre 1.2.) It's been a long time since I've seen a more durable tank then me in a WZ. If I guard a healer and we stick together we are very hard to move off a node. Damage isn't bad for a tank either. I regularly break 200k and have broken 300k on several occasions since 1.2. Personally I cant wait for dual specs so we can easily switch between DPS and tanking roles. The gear is easy enough to get now, so we'll be able to do a lot more experimenting to find the build/gear combo that best suites our playstyle. Edit - Just got home and screen shoted my exact stats, no buffs except Ion canister and hunters boon. Judge for yourselves whether you think the survivability of the SC set is better then tanking in the CT set. Note shield chance goes up another 4% if you keep the new skill heat screen up, which helps in venting heat. http://www.flickr.com/photos/68384843@N05/6957986738/in/photostream
  8. What this guy said. Never met anyone who liked Taris. The layout with all the dead ends that make you go in circles around the map is just annoying.
  9. You are correct, the vast majority of this games PVE content is very very easy. It is by far the easiest MMO I've ever seen in my 13 years of MMO's. I would definitely like to see more challenging content in future expansions.
  10. I don't understand why anyone other the Steve Miller would want to be a Space Cowboy... That being said, IMO anyone should be able to use any armor in the game as long as they can wear the type (light/medium/heavy). I don't like class/faction specific stuff, and I still think this game needs an appearance tab in the worst way. More customization options are always better.
  11. Well, with the expertise scaling boost tank specs in DPS gear are probably a lot less effective. I'd switch to a DPS spec for now and start collecting a BM supercommando set for the extra DR. For the record I've always been either full ST or IF in the supercommando set, because I always expected BioWare to nerf the tank in DPS gear thing. Now that you can just buy the gear I'm working on a combat tech set, but not to run IF. BTW full ST kicks *** in the supercommando set now. Very hard to kill and respectable damage for a tank.
  12. This engine IS really bad by 2012 standards. I can't even believe any company would use a single thread engine in this age where everyone has at least a dual core and most people have 4-8 cores.
  13. Voted by some Mickey Mouse blog? Ok... Guess those people don't watch the news much because there are dozens of worse companies in much more important fields then entertainment games.
  14. As soon as someone starts blaming others highlight them and mention to the op that the guy with only 2 medals is complaining. This will either shut them up or make them rage quit. If your gonna blame everyone else you BETTER be the best guy in the zone, which they seldom are. At the end these guys are usually at the bottom of the list in most categories in my experience getting to v74. Not much you can do other then put them on ignore. They are either children or extremely immature adults, neither of which you want to associate with anyway.
  15. Nothing in this game is a "grindfest", it already was about the easiest MMO ever to max out everything, including gear. Anyone who thinks there's grinding in this game is extremely casual and apparently has little previous MMO experience. OP, I don't think it's ruined PVP, but you're definitely starting to see a lot more clueless casuals in war zone PUGs now, and gear progression in the game is dumbed down, making accomplishments less meaningful.
