Swoop Rally PTS Feedback

I have to admit, I tried to run the courses with my own speeder and was disappointed (not surprised) when it didn't work.

^^^^ TOTALLY THIS!!! Watching SWTORISTA "race" on the bike was like watching a TODDLER drive a TRICYCLE around -- not even a car in "first gear".... You are SPOT ON though!!!!

YES!!! I WHOLLY AGREE!!!
These "swoop bike races" SHOULD ONLY EVER involve the player's OWN MOUNT collection.
Even if those mounts are ONLY THE MECHANICAL ones and "not" the Creature ones?
But i think we should be able or allowed to use ALL of our mounts in these races -- meaning INCLUDING THE CREATURE MOUNTS and NOT JUST the "bike"-ish vehicles only.

This race should be about THE MOUNTS that WE ALREADY HAVE COLLECTED. NOT CUSTOM ones that are given to us temporarily ONLY "for the race".

don't miss this opportunity to give the game an actual challenge. remember: nobody requested such an expansion. nobody but VETERAN players. the guys who've been spending money for years and years. you need to give them something to work on for long time, and swoop-races is a thing that can be done for several years if you're clever enough. obviously you can go pvp here without any problems. but you have to make it right in the beginning. if you want toddler-races, okay, but you have to implement REAL racing speed. so guys who are used to play racing games would give it a try and not abandon it after first sight. what i'm saying is basically: highspeed.

Great event, been awaiting something like this since launch! I agree the mounts need to move a tad faster however if I zoom in it appears quite fast.. I also would love to be able to use my own mounts (speeder type mounts not animals), such as my subscriber reward the Kakkran Daggerster (however it's spelt.) or even cartel speeders such as the Koensayer revolution! I think this may also drive more revenue. people will enjoy spending money on cartel coins to get that new mount to race with.

The rings are going to need to be a lot bigger if you can use any of your own mounts, like the Daggerstar.
Imagine trying to take a vorantikus or rancor on that ride!
I would understand if it only worked with classic speeders. It would certainly look more believable.

It would *work*, but look really stupid. The biggest mounts are really the same size as the smallest (ride one of the big tall mounts around the corridors in the Esseles, when you're fixing the secondary conduits - if it's one of the walkers or a rancor/vorantikus, you'll find your viewpoint above the ceiling, but the mount fits).

GW2 mounts have actual size, and there are places you have to go on foot because the mounts just plain won't fit, but if there isn't a no-mounts-here thing active in SWTOR, you can ride a mount of any size anywhere you like without regard to the scenery.

Yeah, of course it would have issues, but something needs to be done to make this fun.

It's a Swoop Rally, not a swoop race, not a pod race.
The only racing element is trying to get all the gallery shooter stuff done before the bonus timer expires.

I'm still hoping they'll make one faction a "blow things up" rally, one a swoop speed race, and one an obstacle course.

I would pay serious money if they released the assets as stronghold decorations, especially the speed boost pads, jump ramps, mines, and arrow signs.

I know they probably won't, but I'm crossing my fingers they've left enough dev time to do major adjustments and a second round of PTS.

There are two main areas for improvement as for me:

The speed of the bikes, which should be fast enough to be on par with a mount that has all five legacy perks unlocked.

Also, on Tatooine, the sandstorm should be removed entirely.

Other than that, I would like to see what the rewards should be used for.
