CRAFTER based economy! PLEASE! | 10.22.2008 , 01:36 AM
Loot based economies like WoW are stupid. One of the best things that set SWG apart was that the crafters could make the best stuff for PVP and PVE. I loved the fact that as a crafter I could get a re****tion on a server on par with the best PVPers.

I also prefer being able to go to a crafter's store and buy my gear.

Making people do arena or endlessly do BG's for PVP gear was stupid.

Making people raid to get gear was equally stupid.

I want to see crafters with brand names again. I still remember the names of famous crafters from SWG. Running a business was also a fun part of the game.

I totally agree. This game needs a player-based economy. This is the very essence of a real MMORPG : player relying on other players, each one having a role in the game world.

I vote for a deep crafting system myself, and a player driven economy with item decay.

While I would agree, the system makes getting gear quite difficult towards the beginning, and depending on a server's economy the best gear offered could be highly overpriced and mostly unavailable to those who don't have the time to devote to spending hours farming up cash just to buy it.

If there could be a hybrid of the two... where crafting offers just as good of rewards as loot, then perhaps that would work as well?

Player based economy was great in swg and i hope it will be also in SW TOR.
Puts some variety in the classes/game.

Completely agree. One of the strongest aspects of the SW universe is the diversity in armours, weapons, clothing, vehicles, droids, foods, drinks, drugs... the list goes on!

It was, arguably, the most immersive part of the SWG offering, and would be a welcome return if it was included in SW:TOR.

/gets my vote

SWG had an excellent craft system. I hope they use a similar system.

The SWg system would really work here, that was the best part of that game, and I wasnt even a crafter!
