GoT guys to make a new SWtoR Trilogy

Almost everyone is fired up it seems!

My personal take on it, whatever the GoT guys will decide to make, is that it will be a masterpiece. Full of dark twists, manipulations, schemes, and of course epic battles!! To add, GoT is also known for explicit nudity scenes which some SW fan do not like one bit. I would say yeah SW isn't known for that but what if they can make a "love" scene on how "sith" conception happens by just using the force. That certainly puts a darker tone and spike my intrigue.

Like some of you mentioned, I'd like to watch a Sith saga unfold. from conception, his trials, to his full becoming as a dark lord of the sith. None of that good triumphs over evil senile crap we always see. And who else can make this happen but the GoT guys. Imagine how they killed off Ned Stark, and the massacre in the Red Wedding.. I'm sure they can masterfully recreate significant death scenes such as these.

But that's just my sentiments of course.

That's why I said I'd believe it when I see it from a reliable source instead of some random rumormonger theorist. If you ask me, that guy's in the same lane as Forrest Gump. But with Forrest Gump anyone with intelligence knew his stories were a load of bull.

People will jump on anything it seems.

How do you know if it's even based on The Old Republic? it's all just speculation.

I'd sure love it if it was however, but so far, apart from speculation, nothing actually says it's swtor.

I don't' see this happening, actually.

First, that guy's YouTube video was nothing more than his own personal speculation; not anything that is verifiable. It appears to be a fan blogger with an idea.

Second, it's unlikely they would be able to go as edgy as GoT or kill off as many people, because Disney. They are about to open Star Wars theme park lands on both coasts; they probably wouldn't want the brand being tainted with GoT style murders/sexual violence.

Third if there were any interest anywhere in someone doing something with this property the Powers That Be wouldn't be letting it fade away and have all of its profits funneled over to Anthem.

If anything I could see them grabbing something with Revan or KOTOR, since that was recently released for XBox.

Rogue one was "dark" though I didn't think it was that dark. But they seemed to have been able to keep it separated from the kids and the usual star wars characters. It seems to be a movie only the adults talk about.🤔

It seems that whenever someone mentioned the GoT writers, they think sex and violence, but that sounds kind of weird. If I as an artist draw Arcann, doesn't mean I can't draw other things as well. They are as successful as they are because they seem to be good at writing a decent story, I doubt it needs to have sex etc in it.

They're also going to make "Confederate" Which is about modern slavery, it won't be anything like GoT, but it'll be written by them.

People do judge screenwriters, performers and directors by their output, and often associate them with their most successful projects. Like George Lucas has actually done other films, but what do we think of with him, right?

These writers have primarily been associated with a show with extreme gore and violence, and their other projects (things like Wolverine and Troy) have not been fluffy, so it's understandable that it's the first frame of reference. It's also worth noting that the show has far more gore than the books, which has been a creative choice by this team.

Confederate was considered so racist and problematic by so many that it's actually not even being worked on right now. https://www.avclub.com/game-of-thron...ser-1820918129

Rogue One is pretty dark, but most of the violence isn't particularly graphic (even in the scene where Darth Vader slaughters everyone, it's not really shown with a lot of blood and guts; and in the last scene with Jyn Erso, it cuts away before you see anything graphic happen to her). Rogue One has also been publicized at Disney parks just like TLJ. SO I do think they'd have to be careful with what they do and that Disney will not be giving them free rein.

All the same I am not happy they're involved with SW at all, and I dearly hope they steer clear of anything to do with SWTOR. Let them mess with something like the Darth Bane era instead of beloved characters.

This, to me, is worrying. I think the biggest problem with the latest crop of movies is that ultimately, the creators didn't get Star Wars. There's an essence to the franchise that, if you don't have it, no amount of flash and drama will save you. (Part of the reason I always loved KOTOR and SWTOR is that they did very well at capturing that essence, and I think they put their finger on what it's all about very neatly.) I would be worried that their plan is basically "do GoT, but in space" which would just be horrible on multiple levels.

Also, little historical tidbit: when they were planning for the game that would eventually become KOTOR, BW looked at a number of possibilities before settling on the Star Wars universe; one of their plans was actually to create a Song of Ice and Fire RPG. Perhaps thankfully they never did (not necessarily because I think it would've been bad, but I think KOTOR forced them to push their boundaries in ways that were good for them and good for the genre), but it's an interesting thing to consider.

I gather people have concerns about the GoT guys will basically do a GoT in space. True, that can be a disaster. But who would you rather do it? Ryan J.? Please., for the love of SW, not again..

I would think the reason they could be picked to actually do the trilogy is because they've made a name for themselves and the apparent success of GoT speaks for itself. Volumes I might add. They would certainly make good candidates for this project imo.

Light sabers crossed granting it happens. Expextations will be very high. If not, then Disney better find the right person(s) to do it. Either way, a NEW epic Trilogy is called for to redeem SW from the disaster TLJ left on its wake.
