Question to shake everyone alive after some discussions behind the curtains. Is Arcann a god at wielding lightsabers or not?

I just watched Asylum and the fight on the flagship again and I am actually perplexed.

He looks damn powerful at wielding the Force in general. Most of the moments when things become critical are linked to him using powers such as push, grasp, etc. But I am a bit less sure about his lightsaber skills. He actually appears to be very skilled in the trailer and as a companion. But I feel it a bit less in the cutscenes.

Thoughts?

And another one. Do you think that Marr and Shan's training really helped defeating him (if we can consider having defeated him, which is not 100% the case)? I saw a video where PC tells him about the fact that he is now weilding both sides of the Force and it makes Arcann laugh and say his father is a liar.

I think Satele and Marr's advice and training montage were philosophically incoherent. I don't think it made sense for whatever they did to enable us to defeat Arcann. Is devotion to Zakuul / Valkorion / The Emperor / whatever really what gives the Knights of Zakuul their strength? Aren't many Jedi devoted to the Republic and many Sith devoted to the Empire? Arcann does say we seem different, but I don't understand why we actually would be.

I wouldn't say that they are philosophically incoherent. There is actually a middle path and an order that existed with this belief.

But I do not really see how this helps us defeat Arcann who is as well supposed to have another understanding of the Force. This said, how can he have another understanding and another wielding and be DS at the same time?

1) Yes, and our PC against him would not have a single chance. The fact that he can defeat Arcann is only the conditionality of the game.

2) Perhaps only in the plot? But in the game I never used the "super weapon" that is prepared with the help of Marr and Shan. More than all philosophical discussions, the knight shield forgotten on the floor helped me.

I don't think they presented their philosophy this way though?

I would be quite open to a well-presented philosophy of the middle ground, as I think it's safe to say both Jedi and Sith codes miss something. But I don't think that's what we got from Satele and Marr. The shield was our best friend, lol.

I think Arcann is clearly more skilled with his lightsaber's skills than our SI / JC and generally more powerfull in the force than our SW / JK.

I'll go with that though for how the fights on Asylum and his flagship go : Valkorion may have been hindering our character's abilities during the fight on Asylum so that our character would feel so inferior that s/he'd be willing to tap into his powers to defeat Arcann.
But during the fight on his flagship, he was supposed not to be there anymore and wanted us to bring Arcann down, and so he did not interfere during this fight.
Plus you had more time to train (and some advice from Satele and Marr) / practice / recover from the carbonite poisoning during the second fight.

Well, that's how i'll go for my JK, and say that they're pretty much even on their fighting skills but he's more powerfull overall
