b4 you where not even able to que unless you had 2018 expertise... now ...
u get kids in greens and blues 105k total hp when buffed... queing ranked where everyone else hase 128-130k hp....

it basically makes a 3v4 and ruins the experience for everyone

ppl who are geared point out that the person is not properly geared for competitive play

the blue/green wearers get mad at the geared ppl for pointing out that they have 20-30k hp less than everyone else in the arena

I don't understand how a lvl 25 valor can qualify a 220 ilvl 105k hp toon to compete in a ranked setting vs 248 ilvl toons with 128k+ hp

also u have ppl queing in orange adaptive gear with no mods or armoring's.... this can not work with 0 gear requirement because u actually have ppl queing in empty armor and blues/greens(210-220 ilvl)

They are changing bolster to 242 with patch 5.5. While still obviously inferior to 248, it's a step in the right direction.

Bolster isn't a solution. People will queue in green/blue gear and screw it up.

The problem isn't "rude" people who queue ranked even though they are ill equipped (skill+gear) just to get the daily/weekly unassembled components. The problem is ranked gives out too many unassembled components compared to other things. What I mean is, if regular PvP gave out 10x the components, ranked would be WAY more cleaned up. Would there be less pops, yes, but really do you want pops with ungeared or unskilled players that ONLY are motivated about finishing the daily/weekly and not really compete?

If you just added a gear minimum, you'd still get many people in there with good gear that are terrible at ranked and do not really care because they are just there for the unassembled components.

Solution, leave the unassembled components awards for daily and weekly the same for Ranked, but make it 10x for regular PvP and GSF, you'll never again see someone in there to just "be in there". Also, the conquest "complete 10 ranked wars" should be removed.

If you think people will wait on fleet for 20 mins for a pop to be able to play "cleaned" ranked you are terribly mistaken...

Also, if you think that people l with green gear are the problem you are terribly mistaken again.

Give the noob with green gear 248 and see how he will die the same way as he did with greens. Some folk are just bad, avarage or excellent at ranked arenas. Its very simple, no need to complicate things.

That jugg pt, or bad mara, sorc will always get globaled and killed.

Isn't it better to accept the fact that solo ranked is random lottery casino ? Everytime you que, you have to accept that the outcome of team making is out of your control.

To elaborate further:

Not so long ago I was in a ranked match in rish cove and one of our mercs quit before the game and we were 3 vs 4 enemies.

Our operative healer didn't have very good gear. We lost the first round, but guess what ? that oper with crap geared healed so godly well that we won the next 2 games and the match. we were damn 3 vs an armada of full 248's with their merc healer being full bis too.

That oper was out of this world. You just couldn't die with that guy. I have no idea how he managed to keep us alive but he did. Was it skill ? maybe.. but he sure as hell didn't have good gear. He was 236 mixed with 230's.

Increasing the unassembled component gain from ranked pvp actually increases the likelihood that undergeared players will queue up. Ranked pvp shouldn't become the ideal way to gear up your character. I personally think it was the wrong incentive, and I never understood that decision with 5.4.

It makes more sense to increase the number of Ranked Season X tokens from the daily and weekly (or even from each match), so that people who participate in ranked, but never get good enough to have a decent ELO, could still buy a thing or two from the vendor at the end of the season. That is a more logical incentive to participate in ranked pvp, than the notion that ranked pvp will let you gear up faster.

- to this I say---- it is very unlikely for someone to play a class all the way to max level and THEN all the way to command lvl 4 (how most get the 248 gear) and THEN earn a full set and still after (what took me to get to lvl 4) about 40 hours of game play and STILL be a noob at their class.. ... ... but .. I'm sure there is a case

- to this --- I guess I have to clarify since my original post may not have been clear to you but my issue is not with 230+ teir so great u have a 230/236 geard person.. low gear.. but atleast they have a teir set ... my issue is with the 105K hp ppl in 220 blues and 210 greens with no set at all.. and usually 1 orange with no mods in it

I think it's more a formal issue then anything. When you que for ranked, you want serious players that have put in the time to gear there character. One way to see this is gear checking.

It's like if you work in a Professional environment, an office for example, and everyone is wearing suits and ties and you show up in flip flops and a wife beater - its unprofessional, would get you ridiculed by your peers, and even fired from your boss.

Think of ranked as like that, people need to dress for the roll, which means put on decent gear and try to look like you give a crap, and you will attract alittle less hate from your ranked peers.

Unless you play PT, then you are auto fired no matter how geared you are. xD

I'm not sure you read what I wrote, because half of your statement seems to totally agree with me, the other half seems to be your opinion which disagrees with some of what OP is asking for and I offered solution for. OP would like less people to be able to queue ranked. Its that simple. If you want to play along side with people who suck fine, but some people do not. Ultimately you cannot have it both ways. If we want to ask for a prohibition against either people with poor skill, or poor gear beyond what is currently in place, it will result in less people queuing and perhaps less queue pops. So if you are the type of person (and many ranked players are) that is looking for good matchups, currently the situation is, you play 5 terrible un-fun battles and get 1 good one. If we implement ways to prevent poor players from queuing less you probably will wait less time for that 1 good one than you would if you are playing 5 bad ones to get there. And so you can do more heroics or something while waiting instead of beating your head against the wall with a bad team for an hour.

To my original point though, now a days we need to classify the "poor players" a bit in order to examine how to handle the issue, this is because now there are incentives for more and different types of poor players to participate in ranked.
Poor player types:
1.) Terrible player (doesn't matter what gear level).
2.) Competent player, or player with potential (poor gear).
3.) Player who just doesn't care win or loss (doesn't matter what gear or skill level)

Truth is, part of the reason we see more poor players in ranked is because BW appears to want that. Large unassembled components for daily/weekly and conquest rewards for ranked separate from standard PvP will get a small number of good players to queue more, but it will mostly attract poor, unskilled, ungeared, non-caring players to participate.

And here is what may bug ranked players the most about this: When you want to be toxic and call them names, tell them they are terrible, question their ability to properly add skill points, question why they do not have a stim on, verbally abuse them for tactics chosen or skills/spells used, berate them for obviously not caring about focus and teamwork......a player who doesn't care, also doesn't care about your opinion. That is a tough pill for a toxic player to swallow. The predator has no teeth.

Since BW WANTS more terrible players to queue ranjed, no suggestion like gear or skill checks will be acceptable because it goes against the obvious direction they want to go. This is the only conclusion we can draw due to the high amount of unassembled components ranked awards now.
