They must have stealth fixed this because it won't let me drop my current cube into my cargo hold.

Having to buy an item to disassemble the cube is the dumbest thing ever.
I was on Dromund Kaas and decided to change my cube. I first had to travel to hoth to get the red shard, just about able to as a level 37. Then I went back to dromund kaas, traveled all the way to the cave (because for reasons unknown, the flight paths between the spaceport and the temple are NOT connected) and then when I tried to disassemble the cube I got a message about a missing power core!

So after some digging around on the net I found out I have to travel to another planet and spend 8k credits on an item to use. It makes no sense to have this feature, none. It's just another way to get us to travel. Hate travelling? Just wait until you get to Belsavis.

I can kinda deal with only wearing one cube, I can even begrudgingly deal with all the bother of getting a Disassembler Core and then going to remake my cube. What annoyed me was finding I now had a 'Burned Out Disassembler Core' in my inventory, so I have to buy a new one? Putting all these artificial hurdles in my way does not add 'challenge' or depth, it adds frustration and irritation to my experience. A well thought out challenge rewards you with a mountain top sense of accomplishment rather than a 'was this worth it?' feeling of anticlimax caused by loosing sight of the goal in the long winded process.

i have made a request in the last days, asking if its possible to have 2 matrix cubes , so i can use the one i want if i dps or tank.

This is the answer

"I have received your transmission regarding Matrix Cube

I would like to inform you that you can only have two Matrix Cubes at the same time. Its either the same or not.

Please do not hesitate to contact us again if there is anything further we can help you with."

so its possible to have 2 but only use 1 or what does that mean now ? And if you can have 2 how to get em? last time i tried i couldnt make another and the cargo hold thing doesnt work.

This is almost a month old thread but for the value of any other new player who stumbles across this thread from a google search like I did. I will confirm you can only have one.

The Matrix Cube is now a mission item which can be equipped, but not stored in the cargo hold. I'm guessing that this was the mid week server downtime around the time of previous posts that was to fix "game-breaking item duplication" issues.

not really so game breaking that you had to interupt my play time at 3 am my time and the west coasters at midnight for a second time that week. just sayin.

Like you, when I was trying to figure out why I could not craft a second cube, Google pointed me to this thread.

It is a shame that Bioware made the change to prevent you from storing these in your cargo hold. Seems like that does a pretty good job of preventing you from having more than one equipped at a time.

FWIW, my guild is starting Ops this weekend. We are fairly casual and don't have attendance requirements. That means that I may be asked to tank or dps on any given night. I don't have the playtime to get two 50s up to level cap and geared up to fill each role. Now, if I need to switch roles, I need to respec, get my alternate gear, go to Coruscant, get to the Jedi Temple, switch out my relic, and finally get back to the Op entrance.

That last step just seems unnecessarily punitive to me.

Agreed, not meaning to go off topic, but while people will compare this game to WoW, I will say, Bioware needed to see what made WoW great. A way of switching spec was introduced into WoW a long time ago and why its not in place in this game is baffling.

In regards to the cube, what angers me most is that with my new char, level 34 Gunslinger, I cannot make a level 32 matrix cube for him. I need to get a green shard, which guess what? Is only obtainable on a level 41+ planet. Meaning I get a group to escort me there, or I level up to the required level, at which point I may as well hold fire and made the level 50 one.

Come on Bioware, think!
