That does make sense psandak, but my confusion is the following. Green can be acquired for free by gathering, or for credits by running missions and GTN. Blue, and specifically purple only for credits. Purples require crits. All in all, I think balance is not good. I doubt anyone serious enough would spend 48 green scraps to get mats for a single attachment or component. Greens are much more useful for lower tiers where gathering is a bit of a problem.
Choices matter... I choose not to sub until conquest is fixed...

A guildmate and I discussed this last night, and IMO it boils down to the probability that there were/are too many players stocking up thousands of jawa tokens in anticipation of this implementation...drooling over it in fact.

And I would take your last statement a step further: IMO jawa vendors were designed and intended to be sources of lower tier materials NOT top end.

This is why they implemented it the way they did.

I know, I know, I mainly use them for lower tier mats, just trying to figure out the logic. Sort of to know what to expect next

One thing that most MMO publishers do pretty well is keep the players guessing. This is because they are constantly tweeking and toying with different philosophies of implementation. Here is what I will I guarantee right now:
  1. when grade 11 materials are introduced they will not be available from jawas
  2. when grade 11 materials finally are available from the jawas the purchasing power of the tokens will be different than what they just introduced.

Considering the way gearing works now and how next end-game tier is just an increase of mats required, I think we might not see grade 11 in a long while. But let's wait and see.
