Choices WON'T affect your abilities | 11.20.2009 , 06:10 PM
I know they have said in the past that choices will affect the abilities that you obtain. I get that. I understand it... BUT, you have to understand, if there are three choices to every scenario in the game, then there is NO way your choices will really have a huge affect on your abilities. Think logical.
If there are 100 scenarios in the game that have the 3 choices, then that means there will be 300 completely different routes a person could go. I hope I didn't lose any one with the math on that. 1 scenario = 3, 2nd scenario = 6, so on and so on. So, that would be a lot of skills to try and accommodate for. Secondly, they obviously don't want to gimp a sith warrior compared to another sith warrior (just an example). Maybe the answer is when they obtain the abilities, not what abilities they receive. Anyways, thoughts/comments?

Except they said that choices will affect your abilities. Alignment determines abilities. Choices determine alignment.

Also that's not good math.

you're a forum warrior, my friend. So logic < what they say. Sounds kind of naive unless you can prove me wrong. Just my opinion.

Edit: last I checked, 100 * 3 = 300.

Can you elaborate?

I imagine it will based on lightside/darkside rating compared to your characters level.

For example, you hit a certain level, say 10, and then you get the ability associated with light/neutral/dark depending where you are on the scale, which will have been dictated by your choices.

K fine. I'll bite.

Not every single choice is going to directly change your abilities. Rather they will have an indirect (yet still very prevalent) affect on your abilities via your alignment.

Example: Dark Jedi A will have different abilities from Light Jedi B, who in turn has different abilities from Gray Jedi C.

Now, it is important to note that Dark Jedi D and Dark Jedi E can have vastly different routes that lead to the same alignment. So they do not have to accommodate for "100 different scenarios."

Taking Route F and Route G may in fact give you the exact same ability choice. Its not like, "Ooh, you made choice 1. Now you get a special ability." Its supposed to be pretty gradual, like in KOTOR.

So your title is wrong, because BW has explicitly said that choices matter, and choices affect your alignment. They have also said that alignment affects your abilities. That's the way their doing it.

Ok you have Dark points and Light points you may have gray also.

Going for the dark options will unlock dark side skills which will differ from light sided skills.

What those skills are, we have no idea, and how many points dark or light you need to unlock them.
This is NOT the WOW your looking for.....

Actually, just because you have Nietzche in your signature, insult other peoples math ability, then mess up the math yourself does not make you logical. It makes you a bit of a troll. But you =/= logic.
