CD Key, got no membership pls help!!

Okay so I wanted to play this game and I downloaded it yesterday.

I know it's alot of benefits to have a membership so I wanted to buy 30 days of it. I went to G2A and bought a CD Key: https://www.g2a.com/star-wars-the-old-republic-game-30-days-global.html

I went back on SWTOR and wrote in the code and it said that I had activated it. But *** did I get? I did not get 30 days membership nor 500 Cartel Coins... All I got is SWTOR the standard edition? This game is already free so I dont understand what I got??? I want my 30 days membership and my 500 cartel coins!!

I read some articles about CD key on reddit etc. Some said you need to have an active membership plan and then you will get your 30 days? So I went back to SWTOR and bought 30 days membership from here. It gave me 30 days and 500 cartel coins and charged me the 11 euro that I bought from the SWTOR site.

But I have not got anything that I bought from G2A???? Not 30 days or 500 cartel coins. Im suppose to have 60 days membership and 1k cartel coins now.

When I go to my account > Code redemptionand look at code redemption history it says:

05.18.2016 Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ Standard Edition

so the key/code is activated but when do I get the 30 days membership and the 500 cartel coins???

Quick question: why would you go through some 3rd party site to buy a membership?

cuz usally its alooot cheaper on G2A. But with this game it doesnt even seem that way for some reason? So yeah it was stupid to use G2A with this game but still i have activated the CD key where is my 30 days lol

For your information, you must have an active subscription to post on the forums, and what do you know? You are posting on the forums!

This means that you have an active membership.

There have been issues with cartel coins and labelling of active subscription in the past, but the fact that you can post here tells me that you do, in fact, have a subscription plan active.

Now, I will reiterate the concerns of others in this thread and tell you to not use 3rd party crapware websites. The thing is, the extra $4 you'll save isn't really worth it.

Okay so you must obviously not have read my post.

After I activated the CD key I did not have any membership. I got nothing from activating it. It just said it has been activated. I read on a reddit thread that said you need to have a membership plan or already be a member to get the free 30 days.

So I bought 30 days from SWTOR (the offical site) and thought I would be able to get my other 30 days then. Im suppose to have 60 days now. All I got is the 30 days I bought from the official SWTOR site. I never got the 30 days from the code.

So I am a member only cuz I bought 30 days here after G2A didnt work.

Let me summarize some things for you.

Information

Back at launch, we indeed have to set up an active subscription in order to get the 30 days that were included with the game purchase. So that's probably the information you found on reddit. Whether this is still applicable since free-to-play launched, I don't know.

Since Free-to-Play, it is no longer required that you purchase the game (cd-key) in order to be a subscriber. So buying that might have been useless in the first place. Even if it include the digital deluxe items, it's not worth the money.

Advice

First off, I recommend contacting G2A. Maybe there are instructions to activating the 30 days. So contacting them might help to figure that out.

Should there however be no instructions and you've done everything correctly, which seems to be the case from what I can tell. Then there's the alternative of asking for a refund. If the 30 days are missing, they sold you a product they didn't advertise. Which is a viable reason to claim a refund. This could be tricky, since you'd have to prove the product isn't what they advertised. But always worth a shot. Eitherway, contact G2A.

Additionally, I also suggest contacting SWTOR support. They might be able to add even more information or maybe they'll even be helpful and resolve it for you.

I don't recommend informing either party that you're also contacting the other. Not at initial contact. Companies like to play ping pong with people and they'll send you back and forth.

G2A is the selling party, so they're responsible for the cd-key.

Buying a "CD Key" is useless since you can't buy the game itself anymore.

Those are remnants from a time many years ago from when you had to first buy and pay for the game itself and then separately buy and pay for the monthly subscription.

Now the game itself is for free and only thing that cost money is the monthly subscription fees.

You can buy prepaid game time cards from third party sellers, but don't try to buy a "CD Key".

It does appear that you have the 30 days, as you can post, but for an on-going sub. you will need to either use 60 day time cards (the only type sold) or set up a recurring subscription via your account here

https://account.swtor.com/user (My SWTOR - link at the top of these pages) - Subscription

will tell you how many days left.

A CD-key will only give 30days once on your account.

So, other than the Cartel Coins - which seem to be an on-going problem for some - what did you expect to see?

The ftp game is essentially the same as the subscription game, but just with some restrictions. But, for example, can you hide your helmet? (f2p can't) Do you have 15 (I think it is) character slots - f2p only have about 4. Can you post on the forums - f2p can't. (Trick question :) )

Etc.

Sounds to me that you bought something that is outdated and no longer relevant thinking that you would still be granted the old promotion that came with the original game codes. You'll probably have to take it up with the third party site that you bought it from. I doubt that Bioware will do anything about that. Live and learn.

Yeah I realize now that this CD key ******** is from when the game was not Free To Play and instead Buy To Play. So it's just stupid and pointless to try and get membership from something like that. But the way G2A wrote it, it seemed like I would just get 30 days sub.

Anyways I have contacted G2A and the seller have 3 days to respond to me or I am gonna get more help.. It's just annoying.

And I dont think trying to contact EA would do much since it will just cost more money for me to call them and the CD keys are just an outdated thing anyways that should not be sold..

I dont even know why G2A have this thing on their site it makes it seem that its a membership youre buying. Its a big legit company too so idk why its up there. Anyways hope G2A refunds me cuz this CD key gave me nothing. It's like I paid for the game but its already free.

Look. I said this like 3 times mate lol. When I put the code in I did not get membership. All I got was the standard edition which is free now anyway.

I now got membership cause I bought 30 days from the official SWTOR site after G2A did not work. This membership is not from the code. I got nothing from the code, all I got was that it said:

05.18.2016 Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ Standard Edition

under code redemption history.. thats all I got I could not post on the forums and it said free player... so I could not get any help from here at that time
