You might as well get used to it. Most companies don't support windows phones. They just have too small of the market share to take seriously. Also, if you got a Windows phone, you clearly didn't have app support in mind when you got it, or else you would have gotten an Android or Apple device.

keep in mind, that you can always download an android shell environment and run the security key app on your pc using that. just a thought.

I guess if that works it'd get the person the reward for using a security key to login - however that's a circumvention of the intended security level, since you'd be running your (additional) security mechanism on the same system as your SWToR login tool. Thus a computer compromised would be a compromise of both security mechanisms at once.
Boring conversation anyway.

I have a Windows Phone 8 too, and the fact that there is no Security Key, and even worse, no response from BioWare is ridiculous, Windows Phone 8 is getting more and more users everday, here in my country (Brazil) I see more of then everyday, the majority of the most used apps already have his versions for Windows Phone 8 (even Instagram that was exclusive for iOS not so longo ago already have a version for Windows Phone 8)...another point is that the Security Key from SWTOR is made by Vasco, and Vasco do have a version for WP8, so there is simply no excuse for not releasing a Security Key for SWTOR..

Well keep in mind that Windows Phone is a fairly late arrival to the cell phone market (October 2010), and Windows Phone 8 was released October 2012, barely over a year ago. By contrast, iPhone was first released in June 2007 and Android in October 2008. And BlackBerry in ... oh wait n'm lol

I think it's far more important for BioWare to work on features of the game itself, rather than fill out the security key options. There's already a physical security key you can buy for $5, and apparently you can also run the Android emulator mentioned in an earlier post. So don't pretend like all players haven't been given a perfectly usable option for the Security Key.
Boring conversation anyway.

Windows Phone 8 guy here! It would be nice, I'm sure my security fob is going to die soon.

Actually, Windows Phone started out as Windows CE, then Windows Mobile (back in the late 90s - mostly found on PDAs, then in the early 2000s WiFi functionality was added). Its only been rebranded to Windows Phone recently.

The iPhone 1 was pretty well a carbon copy of the Windows Mobile HP iPAQ 6300 series phones that came out in July 2004 - I still have mine (not using it of course). iPhone was released in 2007.

On the second part of the post. I completely agree with this statement:

They don't actually have to work on the security key, it's made by a third party company, as I stated before...even while I agree that they should work on features of the game, that is not the point ot this thread, and that doesn't imply they shouldn't work on other things...and I actually don't have another option on security key, they don't sell the physical one in Brazil, and a desktop emulator is not as safe as having it on mobile, nor as pratical, as I play SWTOR on two different computers...

The Android and iOS app don't even work properly as stated for those who don't have a hard copy of the game. This has been mentioned here and in the app ratings and well with no changes, so I don't know that they will make this a priority either. Hope they do though for the sake of those who also want a key without having to buy the fob.
