Is jedi consular's story that bad?

a lot of my darkside points happened via "needs of the many supercede the needs of the few" choices. at least for my sage.

my shadow is basically a horrible jedi who never wanted to be one in a first place, and while she's not quite at a sith level, she would have made a great smuggler if not for that pesky affinity for the force. damn, jedi council is willing to tolerate a LOT... but oh well... if she's going to have powers, might as well have some fun with them :P

and one of these days I'll actualy get somewhere with a male consular. when I get over the whole "he sounds like tranquiled Drake 80% of the time" thing. (Dragon age reference)

Eight pages of arguing about the story, and nobody has mentioned that the JC has the most EPIC version of "receiving your first orange weapon" of all the classes I've played that far (which, to that point, is now all of them) (what follows is an EPIC spoiler of an EPIC quest. Read at your own risk):
Spoiler

Star Wars stories should have that EPICness to them.

To go to Belsavis, you must go to Belsavis.
I never had a Fine Mithril Sword of a very powerful glorious invincible hero scout with ruby inlays and platinum engraving in June language

Indeed.
I´m new and so far I have only done consular up to Aldebaran and started all others, getting them of the starter planet.
But Consular is the most "Star Wars" of them all and my favorite questline closely followed by the Inquisitor. The Smuggler´s "Dude, where´s my Spaceship?" is a very close 3rd.

People hate the consular quest?
Well most people like lots of stupid stuff, watching reality shows or sports or getting blackout drunk.
Who cares.

If you've only played 1/3 the consular storyline (and less of the others), then perhaps you shouldn't judge it yet? The first chapter is okay. But the second and third are just snooze city where you cater to the whims of a bunch of whiny diplomats and most of your companions are completely bland. Especially the romances.

I do like the quest design though. At least on the first play through. Many boss encounters require you to do some thinking, like using interrupts or running away.

OTOH, I think the game design should never have made the Shadow part of the consular class. It makes more sense for it to be warrior. Sentinel/Guardian should have been a spec, not a whole advanced class. OTOH, there could have been a pure DPS (no healing) ranged advanced class for consular

I loved the Consular story to the point I have two level 60's . One Shadow and one sage. I may be the exception as I did not go in expecting the Consular to be like a knight. I knew it was more about the diplomatic side of the jedi which is perfect for what I was looking for.

I think the story is great, but then again that is my opinion and both my consular's are light side and female. (I would have found it weird for me to do anything but a lady).

I have six level 60 Consulars (one of each spec of Sage and Shadow) and I have never found the story to be dull.

The narrative structure of this story is extremely similar to the Agent's story, which everyone seems to love, but the motivations of the character make sense with the Consular. I've never gotten a satisfactory answer for why the Agent doesn't jump ship at various times during the story.

I got 1 level 60 sage (male) and 1 level 36ish sage (female), I do also intend at some point to start a male shadow too. Running a character of the opposite gender does not really bother me anymore, I still cant bring myself to take any romance or flirt options but still.

I feel more like Obi Wan than Luke or Anakin when I like the Consular so I like it.
