Welcome SWTOR Players!

Our guild is a Casual, Mature Family-Friendly Guild that's has been together since 1992 which was founded in the game The Shadow of Yserbius on the ImagiNation network.

"To have fun and help others do the same" and we are looking for more friendly, mature members that enjoy the many aspects of the game. The friends you make here in the NOR branch of SWTOR will be with you as you explore future games. Even though we are a casual guild we also have many players dedicated to progress through the harder Operations that The Old Republic throws at us. We run lower tier Operations Weekly for our newer raiders and Progression Raids Weekly for those who enjoy the challenge.

NOR is active in several games making your casual play a easy transition between SWTOR, ESO, EverQuest 2, Guild Wars 2, Dungeons&Dragons Online, Rift, ArcheAge, Neverwinter and many more games to come.

We encourage Altoholics so bring over all your alts. We are recruiting both Republic & Empire factions taking full advantage of the Legacy system.

It is important to us to keep the guild active together so we do host weekly and monthly events and encourage our passionate members to host additional events. For Conquests, we are currently taking a one week on and one week off approach to placing in the top ten, alternating our focus between Republic and Imperial factions on those weeks, but members often strive to reach their personal goals regardless of our focus. NOR has never failed to make the top ten during the weeks in which we are actively seeking to place.

Current Regular Scheduled Events:

  • [WEEKLY] Tuesday Night 9est-11:30 we run Progression Operation group(s) alternating factions each week.
  • [WEEKLY] Thursday Night 9est-11:30 we continue our Progression Ops started on Tuesday.
  • [WEEKLY] Friday Night 9:est-11:30 we run an Imperial 8/16 StoryMode Operation.
  • [WEEKLY] Saturday Night 9est-11:30 we run a Republic 8/16 StoryMode Operation.
  • We are also a part of a Raid Alliance giving our members even more opportunities to experience End Game.

  • We have several PvPers looking for expanding our Ranked PvP Teams both Pub & Empire!

  • We have frequent opportunities for fun social events such as achieving conquest objectives together, holding stronghold showcases, having arena ring duels on our guild ship, and making datacron runs.

Current Officers:

  • Branch Leader Zyera
  • Officer Intisar
  • Officer Valikk
  • Officer Windemere
  • Officer Galaxiya
  • Officer Vasniar

Contact our Officers:

  • On the forums here or on our website.
  • Join our public chat channel "/cjoin nor"

"So what has the SWTOR branch of NOR been up to the past month?", you ask. Well, Baroness Galaxiya provides us with a wonderful summary in the November newsletter.

NOR November Newsletter - SWTOR branch

Hail*NOR/!

Many exciting things have occurred since our last newsletter! Conquest is in full swing, and Duchess Zyera successfully led NOR to place in the top ten for each week set for conquest! A big round of applause for everyone that participated in the conquest weeks to help NOR place! It was no easy feat, and everyone’s contribution, big or small, was greatly appreciated! That said, after running ourselves ragged the first few weeks, it was decided NOR conquesting would take place twice a month. One week the focus is on the Republic side, the next week is a break week. After the break, the focus is on the Imperial side, followed by another break week; rinse and repeat. This decision was made in an effort to help the conquesting be more enjoyable and keep burnout to a minimum. Check out the forum for more information and feel free to message t he officers with any questions or suggestions regarding NOR or personal conquest objectives. Your officers and fellow guildies are ready and willing to help you reach your personal conquest goals!

And, speaking of exciting things, the Shadow of Revan goes live on December 9th with early access beginning on December 2nd! If you have been thinking about coming back to SWTOR after a break or maybe creating a few more alts, now’s the time! Take advantage of the preorder to gain early access to the expansion and receive the goodies that come with it, including the 12x XP bonus for class missions!

The NOR Branch continues to host an active raid schedule and the new content will be a welcome addition to our rotation. Please remember to sign up so the raid leaders can plan accordingly.

The raid schedule is as follows:

Raids begin at 9:00 pm est:

Tues: Republic Progression

Wed: Sith Story Mode

Thurs: Republic Story Mode

Sunday: Sith Progression

Raids begin at 9:00am est:

Saturdays: TBD based on interest

Sundays: TBD based on interest

While these are the scheduled nights/mornings, we have been running pickup raids regularly. Normally, the pickup raids have been occurring at the regular 9:00 p.m. est time, but if there is a large number of members online, it is not uncommon for someone to ask about an ad hoc raid! Come join us! If you are unsure of gear requirements, feel free to contact one of our DMG group members: DM Valikk and KP members Zyera, Intisar, Amp, and Windemere or see our level-55-endgame-gearing-guide thread on the forums. Raids drop exclusive Stronghold decorations which you can keep for yourself or donate to the guild ships! We always have a great time on raids and look forward to when we can routinely run 16 man raids. Come join us and help us meet this goal!

We are actively working on unlocking rooms for the Guild Ships and welcome participation in the raids for the drops needed for the rooms. Be forewarned though, that doing so requires us to go onto an opposing side’s base, which will flag the team for pvp. Sometimes these raids are relatively uneventful, and other times we work together to fend off a player or two who, unwisely, choose to attack us while we are fighting the champions on a base. This usually leads to a lively, yet short lived fight or two, or three, should the player decide to come back for more! NOR is more than willing to show foes our might when challenged and crush them into oblivion! Needless to say, raiding is always an adventure and an opportunity to learn from, and have fun with, your fellow guildies.

We are actively working towards a successful raid on The Dreadful Entity. We’ve made a couple of attempts, but with only one amulet, we are given one shot at it every 24 hours. We are working on getting a raid together to kill Dreadtooth at 10 stacks successfully for another amulet which we could then use to gain more attempts at killing the entity. If you are interested in participating in either or both raids, please let an officer know or sign up for the weekly raids. If enough have signed up, we may be able to attempt it and hopefully, succeed!

We have had many promotions and new recruits! Windemere and Galaxiya were promoted to Baron and are looking forward to helping guildies and getting to know them and their playing styles. Feel free to look them up when online for guidance or assistance with questing, flashpoints, and ops as they are ready and willing to lend their guns and sabers to the cause! Vasniar, Nabe, Kaurix, and Teigra were promoted to Knight and are great guildies to run with! Congratulations to Amayana, Arterdig, Payment, Raybenn, and Rowanshot who were promoted to Squire! We look forward to running with them and seeing what they can do! We welcome our new recruits Terasia, Kalamando, Vixyn, Omnishield, Fourtwenty, Rowanshot, Retsah, Nastrand, Raybenn, Amayana, CorTem, Xerakai and hope you love it here as much as we do! If we have inadvertently left someone out, please bring it to our attention as we want to recognize all our norbies!

And, in the norbie spirit, Duchess Zyera called a Branch meeting on Thursday, November 13th, 2014 at 8:00 pm est. where most of the above mentioned promotions were performed. There were 24, yes 24, guildies in attendance for the first ever guild meeting on the Imperial Flagship! During the meeting, the new names for the guild ships were announced. The Republic Guild Ship has been named Dawn of Yserbius and the Imperial Guild Ship has been named Nightshade Imperator. Thank you to all who participated in the naming!

Continuing the excitement, during the squiring, Baron Windemere eagerly hacked off a new squire’s entire ear instead of just a piece, but Count Intisar came to the rescue with a band aid! The poor squire suffered significant blood loss and limped back to their chair. It was reported that Count Intisar’s band aid did the trick and no further medical intervention was needed. Thankfully, those squired next fared much better with minimal loss of blood. All in attendance breathed a sigh of relief when Count Intisar managed to stealth behind Baron Windemere and switch his shiv for a butter knife before he resumed squiring! At the end of the meeting, prizes including a bantha mount and the entertaining feign death were awarded. Those able to stay on a little longer went out to battle for more drops used to open rooms on the guild ship! The fun never ends when norbies get together!

As the Branch moves into the next exciting phase, we invite everyone to keep contributing in whatever ways you can. The NOR Spirit is flourishing here, and we hope that together we all can continue to pull together and take the Branch to new heights. Good luck in your gaming adventures and we hope to see you in game! May the Force be with You!

NOR is having fun engaging the new content and you could too! We finished 5/5 SM Ravagers last night and the first boss of the Temple of Sacrifice. We're looking forward to bringing many of our alts to the party. If you want to find out more about us, don't hesitate to contact one of our officers.

So what has NOR been up to January? Below is an edited summary taken from Baroness Galaxiya’s terrific newsletter contribution. NOR is growing and having fun. If you think we might be the right guild for you, take a look at the beginning of this recruitment thread and fill out an application.

Hail*NOR/!

Many exciting things have occurred since our last newsletter! Since the release of the strongholds, norbies have been busily working on decorating and it’s time to show fellow guildies what we’ve done! On February 7th around 8pm est we will be holding a Stronghold Showcase, and in true norbie party fashion, decoration prizes will be ready to be won by /roll! So get your dice ready! Those who have rigged dice (You know who you are….okay I’m one of them….), share your luck with others! We will check out any size stronghold, so don't feel bad if you haven't unlocked much yet, we’re just happy to see your ideas, and maybe borrow a few. :)

Most have gotten in some good play time with the new expansion pack and it’s time to resume more regular conquest events! We routinely post conquest information on the forum and welcome your posts as norbies always have great ideas and information to pass on to others. We are always ready and willing to run with guild mates and to answer questions. We routinely set times to run conquest events, or plan them on the fly when there’s interest. It doesn’t take much work to reach the conquest target, especially if guildies run together!

Interested in raiding? Check out NOR’s raiding schedule. Operation runs have really begun to pick up steam now. NOR has successfully conquered Ravagers and Temple of Sacrifice in story mode as well as the first boss of each in hard mode. We have updated our raiding requirements and have options for both casual/storymode and progression raiding. Besides the normally scheduled raids, we hold pickup runs regularly. Normally, the pickup raids have been occurring at the regular 9:00 p.m. est time, but if there is a large number of members online, it is not uncommon for someone to ask about an adhoc raid. Hey, we have lots of alts and they need gear too!

On to promotions and new recruits! A well-deserved congratulations to Sohlstice who was promoted to Champion! Congratulations to Begbie, Gerglid, Jan-ji, Krindo, Harth, Moxat, Zakar and Zera’Tassern, who were promoted to squire! The interest in NOR is growing and we welcome our new recruits Ahka, Genikos, Grey’Wolf, Kaycia, Mauric, Morganth, Recktone, Soulfinger, Umì, and Zelad’agenne! We look forward to running with everyone and hope they love it here as much as the rest of us do.

The NOR Spirit is flourishing here, and we hope that together we all can continue to take the Branch to new heights. Good luck in your gaming adventures and we hope to see you in game! May the Force be with you!

While NOR is self-consciously not a progression guild in the technical sense, we do have a great group of players that enjoy the challenge of progression raiding and tackling the most difficult content, yet without ever compromising on our core principles and commitment to each other. In order to be able to field two, full progression teams we are currently in need of one tank and one DPS on the Republic side. Progression raiding time is on Tues and Thurs from 9 to 11:30 EST as outlined in our recruitment post.

If you enjoy trying to get the most out of your class and tackling the latest content within a mature and friendly guild that is not primarily focused on progression, yet still enjoys doing it, take a look at NOR and submit your application today!

NOR NEWS April 19th 2015 issue #029

SWTOR Branch

Hail *NOR/!

Many exciting things have occurred since our last newsletter! We’ve had a double xp weekend and are now in a double xp week! If you’ve been thinking about returning or leveling, now’s a great time to do that. Many of us spam Kuat Driveyards for leveling so if you need someone to run with, someone is probably on and running. “Kuat till our eyes bleed!” is our motto during double xp weekend/weeks, come join us!

PVP! Well, some of us who swore never to set foot on a pvp arena have changed our minds. We are grouping up often on all 3 levels of pvp and are learning the ropes from those who already know a great deal about pvp. If you are interested in pvping, or considering it just a tiny bit, feel free to join us. We have more fun when we run together and can coordinate with class abilities. Teamwork is key in these games and the more we play together, the better we are, and the less painful pvp is.

Raiders! The raid schedule has changed, so please check the forums for updated days and sign up for story modes if interested. Gear and raiding requirements can be found on the forums as well and are updated as needed. The information on the forums that may be helpful to new and current raiders/players are 3.0 Guides, Crew Skill Guides, How to Parse, OP/FP location spreadsheet, and great information for New or Returning Players in an easy linked list of topics.

If you have a question about gearing, and see one of the DMG group members on, they will be happy to answer your questions. DMG group members: DM Valikk and KP members Zyera, Intisar, Windemere, Sohlstice, and Velkeri. All are very knowledgeable with gearing and getting the most out of a class. If you are interested in optimizing your toon’s class abilities, spend some time with a DMG member who can help you with rotation efficiency and the intricacies of each class. Youtube offers many videos of class rotations, gearing tips, and flashpoint and operations running which will help as well in getting familiar with your toon's abilities and how to be most effective when running.

The recent Rakghoul event yielded lots of fun and screenshots are posted on the forums. We also had a guild meeting during that week and the meeting screenshots can be found there as well. Our meetings are always lots of lively fun and always yield fruits! (prizes) Thank you to everyone who attended the meeting and congratulations to the prize winners!

On to promotions and new recruits! A well-deserved congratulations to Katman who was promoted to Knight! Katman is a resident expert on the Starfighter pvping and will happily run you through it if you want to learn. He’s also great in player pvp and offers helpful feedback on how to get the most out of the pain and suffering! Congratulations to Veton, Edison, Nakisa, and Nesrook who were promoted to squire! We welcome our new recruits Bhurzo, Ripjack, Raseen, Wethril, Klaele, Fhox, Suidualc, and Al’haria! We look forward to running with you and hope you love it here as much as we do! If we have inadvertently left someone out, please bring it to our attention as we want to recognize all our norbies!

NOR has been really busy with old friends returning to the game to enjoy 12X class XP and new ones joining us as well. In the past week we have had fun killing both the Worldbreaker and Colossal Monoliths on Ziost, continuing our progression raiding in Ravagers and Temple of Sacrifice, and having a fun run through hard mode Dread Fortress for old time's sake. There is a little bit of everything going on so if you're looking for a guild that has multiple interests and has fun doing it, check us out!

I sent in an application and have been trying to get setup in the forum but I can't finish the forum registration, it's not showing me the text for the anti spam bot key. I will try and pm one of the guild members tonight when I log on.

Yup, we got it! I added your character to my friends list last night, as is the practice of all officers when we get a new recruit, so we'll be looking for you too. ;) I also replied to your PM here earlier. Sorry to hear you're having issues with the forums, hopefully we can get it settled tonight. A lot of us will be on republic side when it gets close to our 9pm raid start, but I'll be spending some time on imperial before then.

NOR NEWS May 24th 2015 issue #030

SWTOR Branch

Hail*NOR/!

Many exciting things have occurred since our last newsletter! It’s 12xp for class missions and Gree event time! If you’ve got a few toons to level or want to start some new ones, now’s the time! If you are like some of us and have leveled a few toons via flashpoints and not actually completed your quest lines, now’s a great time to do that, and enjoy the story lines! While the Gree event is active, join us for Xeno and world boss kills! If you are on and interested, let us know and we’ll gladly run you through it! The Gree event offers legacy items that make swapping gear between toons much easier. Make sure you grab yourself some while it’s available; the Gree event ends on the 26th!

We’ve been enjoying the Ziost storyline and killing the Colossal Monolith and the Worldbreaker Monolith. Want to add that to your list of accomplishments? Let us know and we’ll help! If you have not had a chance to continue the storyline on Ziost, you’ve got some fun to look forward to! While running the Ziost quests, pay special attention to rooms and areas that might have additional quests to pick up as once you move on to the next area, you cannot go back. You might find some accomplishments along the way too. Want someone to run the quests with? Let us know! Most of us have multiple level 60s that have not run the Ziost quests yet and can join you to make the ride smoother and more fun!

PVP! We are consistently pvping together and have a “let us know when you’ll be on for pvp!” sign up on the forum. Most of us PvP almost every day to get our dailies and welcome anyone who would like to join us. Let us know in game or on the forum if you are interested in PvP and want to group up! If you’ve never pvp’d and want to learn your class better/well, pvping is a great way to learn your toon’s class abilities. Beginning at the low levels and pvping your way up will help with learning and utilizing your skills effectively as you get them. This will make you an efficient killing/tanking/healing machine! We have great pvpers who enjoy teaching others the tricks of the trade. If you want to learn, they are ready to teach! Not sure who they are? Just ask in guild chat and they will speak up! Teamwork is key in these games. The more we play together, the better we are, and the less painful pvp is.

Raiders! If you enjoy story mode raiding, sign up for our Friday and Saturday night raids. We’d love to have enough NORbies logged on to run 16 person raids. Don’t be shy, sign up and log on if you are available to raid! If you are unsure of what the requirements are, feel free to ask us via guild chat. There’s usually someone on who can answer your questions if you didn’t find the answer on the forums. If you have a question about gearing, and see one of the DMG group members who are on; they will be happy to answer your questions. DMG group members: DM Valikk and KP members Zyera, Intisar, Windemere, and Velkeri. All are very knowledgeable with gearing and getting the most out of a class.

The information on the forums that may be helpful to new and current raiders/players are 3.0 Guides, Crew Skill Guides, How to Parse, OP/FP location spreadsheet, and great information for New or Returning Players in an easy linked list of topics. If you have difficulty maneuvering the forums, let us know and we’ll help you find what you’re looking for.

Promotions and New Recruits! A well-deserved congratulations to Nakisa and Edison who were promoted to Knight! Both are great pvpers and will happily run you through pvp if you want to learn. Congratulations to Suidualc, and Al’haria who were promoted to squire! We welcome our new recruits Krinsha, Treflan, Cullucut, Dentin, Xorian, and Deus. Check out his advice column “Ask Deus” on the forums. He’s been very helpful with everything from Tauntaun illness to conflict resolution and improving cookie recipes! Need help with something? Ask Deus! We look forward to running with our new recruits and hope you love it here as much as we do! If we have inadvertently left someone out, please bring it to our attention as we want to recognize all our norbies!

We've enjoyed some great new additions lately as well as some beloved veterans returning home. We've had consecutive weeks of quickly clearing the Colossal Monolith on Ziost in 16 man mode and our progression team has taken down Sword Squadron in 8M HM. We're having a lot of fun and invite like-minded folks to join us!

SWTOR Branch

Hail*NOR/!

Many exciting things have occurred since our last newsletter! First and foremost, we are uber excited to announce the promotion of our esteemed branch leader, Duchess Zyera, who has been promoted to Lady! Lady Zyera works tirelessly to take care of each and every one of us in NOR and we greatly appreciate her! Congratulations Lady Zyera!

If you haven’t heard yet, Knights of the Fallen Empire has been announced as the new expansion! This expansion is free for subscribers, yes you read correctly, free! And, to make it even better, you’ll have the opportunity to create a new toon already level 60! There are many more great things about this expansion. Check it out here and let us know on the forums what you think!

Feeling lucky? If you fancy yourself a lucky person, visit Nar Shaddaa for the Nightlife event that runs from June 9th through August 25th. Head to the Club Vertica Casino/Star Cluster Casino and get ready to lose your money, uh, we mean, win big! Should you find yourself unable to push away from the slot machines, one of your fellow NORbies will be happy to come to your aid! We have several Sages on standby that will come to your rescue! Feel free to talk with Knight Vasniar who knows firsthand how, ahem, helpful, a Sage can be. ;)

Ziost is in full swing, and if you’ve not yet had the opportunity to join us for the now weekly 16 person Monolith run, it’s scheduled for every Wednesday at the normal raid time. We don’t always have enough NORbies on to run, but enjoy it when we do. Great loot drops, including set pieces and decorations, and we plan to continue running this until everyone has gotten a chance to reap the rewards!

We’ve been making the most of the 12xp for class missions and enjoying the experience of repeating the story lines, or running one we haven’t gone through yet! Run into a difficult class mission boss? Let us know and we’ll happily come and annihilate them for you! Unsure of how to gear your newly leveled toon? We can help! Our resident experts are: DMG group members: DM Valikk and KP members Zyera, Intisar, Windemere, and Velkeri. All are very knowledgeable with gearing and getting the most out of a class.

Been thinking about raiding? We raid often, even on unscheduled nights due to increased participation! If you enjoy raiding for fun, sign up for our Friday and Saturday night raids. These raids are storymode and don’t require great gear or knowledge. We’re happy to show you the ropes and keep you alive along the way! We’d love to have enough NORbies logged on to run 16 person raids, so don’t be shy, sign up and log on if you are available to raid!

On to Promotions and New Recruits! Congratulations to Deus, Cullucut, Jayish, and Derrial who were promoted to squire! It’s been great getting to know you and we look forward to more runs together! We welcome our new recruits Jariik, Dabulamanzi, Maishka, Eratic, and Vokinn! We look forward to running with our new recruits and hope you love it here as much as we do! If we have inadvertently left someone out, please bring it to our attention as we want to recognize all our NORbies!

NOR was happy to promote three recruits to full membership and add a new officer to its roster in July. Congratulations to Dabluamanzi, Boku, and Sosefina for their promotions to squire and to Vasniar as our newest Baron!

We're seeing lots of interest in our scheduled events and getting great suggestions for new ones. We've added a monthly occurring raid on a Sunday afternoon around 1:30 for people who like to play on weekends and more events are sure to come. Our roleplaying section on our forums is getting more activity with great character stories and the community is thriving. If you're looking for a place to call home, give us a look!
