Yeah, but what if we could also sort by unit price instead of just list price!?

How in the world is that deceiving? This is what retail stores do all the time. Feels better to most people to spend "less than 20,000" than it does to spend 20,000.

And for some people, less is less. Like in life, you just want the best deal. 19,999 is a better deal than 20,000.

Your link is irrelevant. If someone is playing this game, they know how the pricing works and how it is listed. It makes absolutely no difference how it is done elsewhere.

That's your choice, but the seller will never get your message.

but not 5 year old kid, eh?
My point is -the decimal system in this game is different than the one used in my country. This thread and others seem to indicate that in other countries too.
You have to pay attention, sure, but don't tell me that someone who fell for this is uneducated 5 year old.

The number of people who got fooled on GTN because of this is large enough to do something about it.
Credits in this game are worth time. If someone loses credits, they are cheated of the time they invested in the game.
Most often new players, or people new to the GTN.
There is nothing good in cheating them of their money, there is no harm in changing the system so that it is less confusing.
And I agree it harms the crafters, a significant part of gaming community.
I've never fell victim to this pricing, but it annoys me as hell

Basically, most of the people who've posted against it lack empathy and instead of actually addressing the possible change, feel the need to repeatedly insult the intelligence of those making the mistake. Which is completely pointless. There's no reason to discuss how easy it is to pay attention and not get it wrong, because people are still going to do stupid things no matter how many times you insult them on a message board that they're not going to read.

All this should really come down to is what you said, what's the downside? Why should this not be implemented? Because all I'm getting from the posters who don't want it is that they just like to punish stupid/careless people. I don't think that's a particularly good philosophy from BioWare's perspective.

And were these people also up in arms when BioWare introduced the Buy Back tab from vendors? Because only stupid people can accidentally click the wrong thing right?

He's also making a perfectly reasonable suggestion to remove the decimal values from the per unit value displayed on the GTN. (So, for example, a stack of 3 items at 1000 credits would display 333 or 334 per unit instead of the current 333.33/333.34 per unit.)

His suggestion would clear up some confusion, and make the display cleaner and easier to read for everyone, including those who do pay attention. I think it's a good idea.
Do not care. This is the problem of the buyer not paying attention and it isn't EA/BW job to hold their hands and idiot proof the entire game because a handful of people aren't smart enough to pay attention to what they are doing.

The problem with idiot proofing is that better idiots keep getting made. It would never end. The tools are available for people to use to prevent from making mistakes, it is up to them to use them and not the game company to drop everything and "fix" a non-existent problem.

There is no confusion to clean up for most people, so it's a bad idea that should go nowhere.

What's the downside? How about wasting dev time on something that's not broken and is not a real problem? They have plenty of other things to work on.

Look, if they decide to make items be listed for whole credit amounts per unit, then I'm fine with that. I'm also fine with them not doing anything.

So, if they make the change, are you actually insinuating that people will stop making dumb mistakes? Ain't no way!
