Indeed - if there's only a single, physical difference from baseline humans, that Near-Human option should be open. Be it pink skin, white skin, a tattoo or a tentacle or two, these options should be able to be chosen in addition to being exclusive to each other.

As long as it also adds the species name to your char spreadsheet. I know it's a tiny thing, and maybe a nice to have rather than have to have...

I might go as far as "near-human." The game should still be treating you, essentially, as a human, however. Most of these races are more culturally disparate than biologically so from baseline humans. A Nautolan isn't going to be able to tell the difference between an Echani and a Kiffar and a Corellian - they're all the same to him.

I think I'd rather have a Human in my spreadsheet than a near-Human I think they are distinctive enough to stand out.

But what would unlock unlock for them on L50? Same as for the Humans, presence bonus? Would they all be available for all classes?

Then, again, maybe just throwing in a few extra options for skin colors and tattoos could be just fine. Maybe sort of like they put extra hair colors and extra hair styles in? So, a part of the already existing slider is now dedicated to the premium tattoos for Kffars, say, premium skin colors... ??? I would certainly pay extra for a customization like that.

I've always championed Nautolans being playable but at this point I've given up on any of the more outlandish species being added. I'm sure we'll eventually get Togruta, maybe Bothans.

The voice acting understandably limits things but I'd be totally fine with some generic alien lines for dialogue like in KOTOR and getting playable Trandoshans and Wookiees out of it.

Agreed with alien voices. In fact, I would prefer it. I would take a sullustan speaking sullustan Jedi knight over the white bread sounding current voice.

I really hope they release some more customization with 3.0. that at least could help making a character look like some of the suggested races =)

So with today's announcement for the Shadow of Revan expansion press release it looks as if its another nail in the coffin for a new playable species to look forward to since it doesn't appear to be in the announcement. I can't say this is a bit disappointing would have been a nice addition to go along with this new expansion
