You don't have those players? You don't have a bottom line.

The only exception is when your financial outlook never planned on them in the first place.
Yeah basically this is how Wildstar attunements work:

20-Man Attunement

Grind out 150 Daily Commendation equivalents
Grind out Legend reputation
Kill Nightmare Pilgrim 12 times
Run HM LI in under 45 minutes 5 times

40-Man Attunement
Kill all 20-Man bosses (think 16 Man NiM EC/TFB/SV/DF/DP).

And you know what? Last time I checked, the top Wildstar guilds were 3/7 for the 40-man.
As in, less than 50% cleared.

and yet SWG was a sub based game all the way up till it closed down B^P....the reason SWTOR failed to remain a sub-only game is because it just wasn't good enough to be a sub-only game. that being said it has gotten a lot better, though im still not sure it is worth a monthly subscription fee

I'm not sure your comparison works. you know seeing is warhammer online ALSO remained subscription only game right up until the moment it was shot down.

you are not sure if its worth it... yet you still subscribe? wouldn't it mean that it IS in fact worth it?

SWTOR is a well made game, by an admired company and focusing on very well recognized IP.

It barely survived to year two (hyperbole maybe, but there was a very brutal period when the population fell from 1.7 million to "around half a million").

So I've seen other very well made games come and go. There is always the less than subtle threat that they may be the death of SWTOR. I'm sorry, but no.

I take no pleasure from SWTOR competitors facing hard times, but I just don't see the "threat" to SWTOR.

There is only one game that I might unsubscribe from SWTOR to play, and it is just a completely different universe and gamestyle so I'll probably end up subbing to both.

The Arcada Legacy (Ebon Hawk)
Ord'os (Lvl.55 Sorcerer), Naresa (Lvl.53 Operative), Jagrafess (Lvl.19 Marauder)
Nydus (Lvl.54 Shadow), Toclafane (Lvl.27 Guardian)

hate to break it to ya but swtor is not a well made game!! its a game built on an unfinished engine and suffers from it all the time! the company isnt all that admired....anymore and the very well recognized IP is the only reason it is still around.

The fact that is was a sub only game has nothing to do with the conversation. You are confusing "sub only" with quality. They are separate attributes.

SWG was bleeding subs when it was only a couple years old. When it was cancelled, as a sub only game, its population was very tiny. Only the most hardcore SWG fans were playing. Just because it was a sub game means nothing.

In fact, when SWTOR was converted to a hybrid F2P/Sub game, its population was STILL higher than SWG ever was.

it lasted for as long as it still had active license. the fact that SWG's license took longer to expire doesn't really change the fact that the game only lasted while it still had a license... seeing as shutting down a game while license was still active, probably would have cost more than just letting it run its course and still getting what measly subscription money were still coming in.

and I say that as someone who actualy enjoyed Warhammer and was sad to see it go

as for your opinion on SWTOR and its quality? it is merely YOUR personal opinion. its not a fact. I will wager you that more people started playing this game becasue it was bioware game as well as sequel to KOTOR than because its star wars.

well seeing as how the game actually IS built on an unfinished engine and it suffers from that FACT its not much of an opinion now is it?? and taking a look at a lot of the press and articles kinda shows its not all that admired as a company anymore. and kotor was a star wars game so if they are playing it because it is a sequel to kotor then they are playing it because it is star wars. if this game had no star wars at all im willing to bet half the of the players would have never touched it and wouldn't be playing it now.

Can you please articulate what a finished MMO engine is? I would like links and documents that prove the statement. Specifically, can you find a company that discusses how their engine is 100% finished and will never be tweaked or modified for the life of the game.

Thanks.
