So, AOE Trashmobs in KDY is fun?

Hm.

What you're suggesting is fun only under certain circumstances. Namely, the players must be adequately geared, comfortable with the game mechanics, and have a decent understanding of all the unique fights in the FP.

By going slow and taking a short while before each large pull / boss fight, and explaining the occasional unique mechanics, you ensure that even if someone is (for whatever reason) a bit lacking in performance, you still have a chance to make it without a wipefest.

I would say it's not such an unpopoular opinion as you make it out to be that fast and smooth FP runs are the best ones. It's just not always possible. I suggest you team up with friends that you trust if you want that to be the only FP experience you are willing to go through.

What we know?
- Two lightsabers = leader of the group.
- Shadows/Assassins can't tank because of light armor.

So, now we should add following to that list too?
- Ignore group roles and just dps everything.

It is funny how the 'tactical' flashpoints are the least tactical, isn't it?

I think sometimes some people need to be reminded that when they are engaging in multi-player activities, they are playing on someone else's time as well. And anything they do, whether accidental or on purpose, to waste their groupmate's time is rude.

Now, I am a firm advocate of being polite to people and not jumping on them if they make a mistake, but just try to keep in mind that you should not waste other people's time. Mistakes are fine, as long as you learn from them. But if you are intentionally wasting my time, I get annoyed.

Best practice, communicate. If you want to kill everything, say so and your group can either out vote you or people that don't want to do that can leave the group. If everyone is on the same page, fantastic.
Unsubscribed due to no new Operations.
I am happy that there will be a renewed focus on story, I love story, its why I picked this MMO. But I picked an MMO, not an episodic single player RPG that I have to pay a subscription to receive the episodes.

I can deal with just about anything and everything a random group throws my way. But for the love of beans, press the spacebar during the dialog scenes! lol

It doesn't matter if I spam spacebar if person who wants everyone to skip doesn't skip.

Shuttle cutscene in KDY. It's annoying when people who go around "Skipskipskip!!!!1!!1" don't skip that. You wanted a quick run? Skip it then!

Well for OP I say, then make a 4 person group of friends and run flashpoints the way you want to.

But when YOU enter groupfinder, you are agreeing to play with others who also have their way of doing it.

I recently had a arguement with a buddy over this
hes moaning and groaning about how the DPS running ahead and trying to lead while he wants to set up and enter slowly (this was tactical, not hardmode).

Simply told him, when you go through GF you are accepting these are speed runs and if you cant keep up your only option is to fully form a 4 person group prior to entering the GF.

Me, I'm very patient player who (if newbie says he doesnt know fights) will explain boss fights before hand (even when healer throws a hissy fit about taking to long...sadly thats a true story. Was explaining Mando Raiders while playing a lowbie alt tank when healer said "taking to long" and attacked. So I just didn't enter fight let her die. She dropped after in a rage quit, we queued in a replacement and finished fight easily).

But even my patience is tested every day in Korriban or CZ Labs tacticals when 1 person cant just follow path I take and instead pulls large agro that never requires to be touched.

If you are not ready to do a speed run in tacticals, dont queue up because the people running them are doing so strictly for the coms.

I love the cut sceens as much as the next guy and do still watch them when grouped with friends. But when I queue up for a tactical or Harm Mode FP in GF I accept the truth that spacebar is mandatory.

If you dont want to speedrun flashpoints, premake your group fully before you enter GF.

You say others need to stop treating them as opts
I would counter saying you need to stop expecting strangers to hold your hands through content they have already seen 100000 times over.

There is a time and place for everything
PUG in GF is NOT the time and place for exploration and killing every mob.
In regards to lessening F2P and Preferred restrictions
In GAMING, as in LIFE,
You get what you pay for
No game restriction is so dire that $15.00/month will not eliminate it

I really don't care whether the group spacebars its way through the FP or not. If someone wants to watch the show, it's not that big a deal to me. And I've learned that, even when everyone is spacebarring (or at least, they all claim to be), I still end up sitting there staring at "WAITING ON GROUP MEMBERS" time and time again. I assume that is because of different connection speeds and other techno-sorcery related things.

I can adapt to pretty much any play style in a PUG FP. My only concern is completing the darn thing. If that means going gonzo and tossing all roles and restraint out with the baby ... or is it the bathwater? ... maybe both..., so be it. If it means moving judiciously and tactically (i.e., slowly), okay. Whatever gets the thing done.

I tried to send my Sage through Mando Raiders last weekend. I had never healed that FP before, but had run it as DPS and knew what was coming. Plus, at that level, a healer's job is never too complicated: spam healing and (if necessary) cleanse. Our leader seemed a student of the "Gonzo" school of FP assault. We wiped every fight. I'm not sure if its because we had a Shadow tanking or because our DPSers seemed to ignore the tank's instruction to fight the adds. Maybe I just suck as a healer. But I was getting swamped every time ... two or three mobs disrupting all my heals while no one lifted a finger to get them off me.

I soon learned that our group's failures were because I, apparently, suck. The Shadow initiated a vote-kick on me, citing her reason as I was "generally a n00b." They had kept telling me to "Heal!" ... I was spamming heal on all three of them ... when I wasn't getting interrupted. I was glad to get out of there and left without even making them vote (so I'm not sure if the other two members agreed with the tank's assessment of my n00bosity).

I hooked up with a different group and we tackled it with no deaths. I admit that's not proof that I don't suck ... the other three of that group may have just been so awesome as to cover all my flaws. But this time, we communicated in more complete sentences and concepts than monosyllabic barking. Oh , and they let me use Force Lift ... first group never let me CC anything before a fight.

My point is (a) PUG FP is, at best, a mixed bag and (b) whatever style you prefer, it only works if all four members share that preference.

TL;DR: Some computers are so slow that spacebar is moot; PUG FPs are PUG FPs; and I may suck at healing.

There is no one "right" way to run a gf FP.

People need to stop acting like they are the authority on what should and shouldn't be done, and learn to lighten the frig up.

Those who stressed communication, I'm with ya and that's always a good thing.
