I am very disappointed, had hoped it would be fair across the board, small guilds wont stand a chance when the super guilds hit. It will be the same 10 guilds in the top ten ALL THE TIME.

Oh and for those who say "gee that is a defeatist attitude", or "your guild sux" etc, just keep it to your self dont need your elitist attitude or you running your mouth, you wanted the price so high that only the "BEST" guilds can compete. well enjoy your ever shrinking small pod.

When will Bioware invest in a guild recruitment system? so smaller guilds can start to grow and not be shut out?

I guess never
Gee, that is a defeatist attitude.

The guild ship stuff seems really cool, but underwhelming. To the OP's point, what's the real benefit? There doesn't seem to be much for the time/credits invested.

Curious - are the contested pvp areas on the planets for guild conquest bolstered? Or do you have to be 55 if you want a hope of contributing/competing?

Question - which are the names monster guilds? I need to go join one so I can get all the new benefits with the least investment

well we have lives outside of the game and dont live in moms basement. so i can do maybe 1 op per day or maybe 2 FP's, or 2 - 3 dailies before i have to go do things in real life. we can not save 50 million, we got to about 20 million and everyone said enough and lost interest.

I saw saw this Crazy arsed Post. Where, don't remember. But I saw this morning a Subject line saying " 12 Guildies can earn 50 Million in a week" or less.

  • I have a life outside the game, including (but not limited to) a wife and two children.
  • I own my own house (well, with my wife) and have not lived in my Mom's basement in over 25 years.
  • When I log in, which is not every night, I do at most 1 op, 2 FP's or 2 -3 dailies before I have to go.
  • I have 25 million credits, and at least that much in goods I can sell on the GTN.

Attitude's like yours are more than a bit offensive. You're basically saying "Well since I haven't been willing/able to do it, it's not possible unless you're a nolife loser." Not only is that wrong, it's fairly insulting, and you need to get over it.

In real life, you can be stuck in abject poverty with little to no way out. In a game like this, if you are poor, it's because you choose to be poor. Literally. Unlike in real life, I can make money in game out of thin air by simply playing the game. I can save money by simply not spending it. It's not a difficult concept.

I'm not belittling the 50 million credit price tag for a guild flag ship. It's expensive. Despite large donations by a few members like myself, and a lot of smaller donations by poorer players, my small-ish guild will have to stretch to get a guild ship. Ours will not have all the rooms unlocked any time in the forseable future, and we will likely not be competitive in conquests, but we will be able to participate. We'll also have fun with it. For us, getting the ship will be an accomplishment, and I think that's a good thing.

Everything in life is a tradeoff, and this is no exception. There are advantages and disadvantages to being in a small, casual guild. To get the one, I accept the other. This is no different. If you insist that getting a guild ship with all of the unlocks on day 1 is a key to your happiness, then get into a large guild. If you prefer to stay in a small casual guild, accept the limitations that come with it.

What would be the con of having a point system for a guild reward for all guilds to reach and then if you are in the top X your guild will receive an additional reward or larger one.

For Example:
The current personal conquest goal is 35,000 points and the guild rewards for the top 10 guilds are 10 Jawa Junk,1 Gathering Lockbox, 50K credit certificate, and 1 encryption plan

So set the guild goal to 350,000 points (that is 10 people at 35,000). Then if the guild earn that many points give them the above rewards. If they finish in the top x (say 10 for this example) , then they get an addition 5 Jawa junk, another 50K Credit Certificate and additional encryption plan. (this can be modified if many ways).

By doing this all guilds have a chance of getting some kind of rewards for investing their time into the game and the guilds have some bragging rights to shoot for.
I like this, I know in other games when you have your guild ship or whatever other name the other games have, you unlock something called guild quests, these are quests that can be done by all the members of the guild that accumulate certain amount of points towards one particular goal preselected or voted by the guild, like the guild does a poll asking do we want to create a new room, or crafting etc etc, maybe this could be a solution.

Your Post has a lot of Bs in it. I don't know what kind of job you have, and don't much care. When i had a LOT MORE of a LIFE. I sure as hell as didn't have time to play this this game as much as you do. And usually never played this game, and that was with 1 kid at the time.

Ppl like me with Real Life issues can't play for some stupid House that's useless along with a Ship.

With my Loved ones gone now with exception of my Mother and Father, as of right now all 3 of us are on Retirement/Disability. And Boys and Girls, in Real Life I never ever have time for this game right now. Because most of us are to sick and disabled to even get to the damm Computer son. When i had a Real life not so long ago
I did Computers, Electrical, Construction, Automobile repair, done some Plumbing of course and have been around the Military all My Life. Since I was a baby.

When i had a better life I did 12 or more hours of work and didn't usually stop, going over 12hrs a day until the job was done, or we stopped because our Pain pills no longer worked. Also i had about 7 families to think about and loved and cherished. And with Family, Loved ones and my Jobs, the only thing i did when I got home was go straight to bed, or take a shower and take care of my ladies needs most nights.

What's this Bs of Ppl that are poor, because they choose to be???

BOY, i've been around so many jobs i'd do circles around you.

BOY, i've done things that are so damm Classified, it would make you soil ur pants.
Agreed 100%, those who say we are poor because we chose too are so full of it that they better check their underwears. Real life take precedent over a game and there are times we dont have enough hours in a day to do all the things you need to do at home.

I disagree - I believe Brewski was basically saying if you want something bad enough you have to work for it, while taking a stand against Santay's comments which said anyone who can get these expensive things essentially doesn't have a life.

I agree with Brewski. Maybe it's the optimist in me. Set goals and work towards them, whether you can play 4 hours a day or 1 hour a week it doesn't matter. If there's something you want bad enough, be disciplined, save your credits, and eventually you will have it.

Most night I log in I play 2 hours at most, usually between 10:00 and midnight local time, which happens to be between my kids going to bed and me going to bed. I actively play around 4 nights a week. (Give or take.) That translates to 8 hours a week when I am active. Often I play fewer nights.

Total hours played in a week is irrelevant, though, as every hour I play I have more credits at the end than I had at the beginning, since every activity in the game makes more money than I lose, so even on weeks where I log in only once I end up with a higher bank balance at the end than when I started. Crafting and selling provides a decent influx as well, increasing the overall credits per play hour.

The only time my credit balance goes down is when I choose to spend credits on things. If I don't choose to spend the credits, they just continue to accumulate. So really, the only question is how fast the accumulate and how fast I spend it.

That's what I mean by "If you are poor in game it's because you choose to be". I don't claim you can make 50 million credits in an hour, a week or a month. Only that you can make 50 million credits over time if you choose to, since unlike real life you don't need to spend money on clothing, food and shelter. In The Old Republic, all of those are optional expenses.

If you choose not to, that's fine. But it's still a choice you make. Accumulating 50 million credits is possible, even if you are casual. It just takes longer.

I mean, we have to dump 50m credits to open it, to be able to run dailies... ok got it. It is kind of like and expansion in that way.

So, can someone please enumerate the benefits we get for our players/guild for such a huge investment?
Nothing. It is a time and credit grind.
