Wait, Inquisition to be released on the 10th of July? Ah, no, 7th of October.

I hope it's going to be another good game. Maybe not as good as to take a vacation(I took one for playing Origins, but not for DA2), but still good. I'm a bit worried about the romances for female protagonists, though - the guys don't look very attractive, and Cullen shouldn't be romanceable at all(he was in love with Amell from Origins, and that's how it should stay).

I pre-ordered the Inquisitor edition from gamestop for PC.
I am just pissed I can't pre-load it and play at midnight... instead I have to wait for my game to ship.

a lot of time has passed. even in DA2 he sounded more wistful than in love, showing that he already got over Amel mage. people do move on and fall in love again especially when their crush is not exactly reciprocated (its not like he has contact with Amell even when you make them your warden, and presumably, if you are NOT playing Amell.. or Surana - he had a crush on Surana as well btw - that whole crash becomes a moot point, since a person that could have been mage warden - doesn't survive past that blood mage deal at the tower).

as for attractiveness - its in the eye of the beholder :P that and there's also Sera and Josephine :P

P.S. that inquisitor's edition was tempting as hell.. ultimately I decided that half the stuff in it, I could make myself and the other half.. I didn't want all that much, so I stuck to merely deluxe :P

I don't see it as an either/or. I certainly won't be leaving SWTOR for it, no matter how much I loved Origins. The mmo experience is entirely different from the single player experience, even in an mmo this groundbreaking in terms of story content. Well, that *was* as groundbreaking. The story content is still fat superior to other mmos, imo, but not what was intended and therefore, not as remarkable. Still not going anywhere, I love this game, even with the gutted story content.

Inquisition...well, they have something to prove before I consider buying it. A purchase depends entirely on how close in style it is to Origins and there being a vast distance between Inquisition and DA2. The mere fact that the Dev team thought throwing out virtually everything about Origins that made it great was a good idea for DA2 means that, for me, I won't be trusting their judgement and will be waiting to read a great deal of fan analysis after release. Then I'll think about it.

Today is the official release date...

But i am not buying games that decline moding community.

Many forums claim that its a bad excuse for the engine, its mostly the fear not to sell dlc's.

But as an end user and from my experience with skyrim that is open for moding, that made it the biggest success.

I mean, i made a skyrim video for moding once and it was one of the best hits on youtube! How many people bought it because of that video, how many hundred of messages and things people send me for it! And how many people actually made their own things and youtube. That made me happy... Bad policies Bioware, or EA.... So no honey for us? No money for u. I wish it good sales but not my cup of tea.
My referral link for returning or new players, for great rewards and a free character transfer.

no modding doesn't really bother me. especially since majority of the mods I have used in skyrim was to fix various issues - texture issues, animation issues, etc.

that said. I have tried playing it. it crashes on my pc :/ going to have to wait for drivers/patch to be released. can't even get past introduction, before it freezes on me :/ what I saw so far - is pretty cool. character creator is both impressive and frustrating though. dear bioware. one of the issues we had with character creator in Mass effect was NOT BEING ABLE TO TURN THE HEAD WELL ENOUGH TO SEE IF bones look right, or if stuff is protruding weirdly. and yet.. and DAI - when I'm messing around with a chin.. I don't seem to be able to rotate the face at all? or am I missing something?

aaaanyways. friends who have been able to play - loving it. hurry up nvidia :/

I had the same issue -- frequent crashes during cutscenes -- but turning Ambient Occlusion to SSAO and running the game in Borderless Window mode fixed them. Didn't have any problems after that, though I did keep on saving obsessively.

Played for about three hours, though I have an essay due Thursday and yet to start on it -- loving what I'm seeing so far. Half an hour of that was spent on character creation, and I'm not happy with how my female human mage turned out (too few hairstyles, no real 'black' hair colour, no way to preview facial animations). Then again, I'm hugely impressed by the depth of the character creation and will do better on my next character (male kossith rogue -- "you ain't seen no one, little guy!" *flexes muscles*).

Note you can rotate your face in character creation by dragging your mouse OUTSIDE the squared area. Dragging your mouse inside will change the facial feature you've currently selected.

Finished Haven, including all the companion / specialist conversations -- pretty much a standard tutorial area, I guess. Mechanics feel solid. Solas is more interesting than I'd have thought. Listened to Varric recount his tales of Hawke -- somewhat disappointed my romanced companion (Merrill) went back to doing her own thing after Hawke disappeared, but I guess it makes sense. Cassandra's accent and intonation may end up becoming annoying, though I like her as a character. Cullen was adorably awkward when I started flirting with him, heh.

Walked into the Hinterlands, which are gorgeous and promise to be interesting reg. the Mage-Templar War, or, as I like to call it, the Glorious Mage Revolution. First sidequest I picked up was a note from a Templar to his mage brother, calling him out for a fight to the death. Will have to intervene in that. Excited for more, once done with my essay. SWTOR will fall to the sidelines for a while. I'm in love with Inquisition.

Also, I thought Divine Justinia was supposed to be a young woman?

Hah, I know that feel. I have already worn off my V button.

No, I haven't played Leliana's Song -- for some reason, I bought DA:O and Awakening separately instead of the ultimate edition, so the only DLC I played were Stone Prisoner and Witch Hunt. No idea where I got the idea that she was a young woman from, maybe I confused her with the Empress?
