interronator
I'm tired of waiting thirty minutes for 1 ranked pvp que to pop. We need a cross server system in place to allow players to actually play the game.
Sheike
Their whipstitched together hero engine can't actually support that. This has been covered, it sucks yeah, but we have to get over it.

False, they can do it, but they would have to take reaources from other areas (housing etc), which they dont want to do.

Engine has nothing to do with cross server capabilities.

DarthRaika
I don't believe the engine has much, if anything, to do with cross server however it might keep them from making even larger megaservers. The engine does not work well with too many people in the same spot. This was obvious from the get go and the engine was chosen out of developer hubris. But yes please more cross server! Raansu
Whatever you say. I work in the networking field. The engine has nothing to do with it and even if it did, the hero engine is designed for instancing. With that said, the only reason they wont do cross server is because they would have to redo their entire server structure which includes backing up all their current data and moving them to the new server clusters and recoding everything and EA is simply not willing to give them the budget to do so. Coding is one thing, they probably cant even get the money simply to buy the actual hardware for their server infrastructure.
