Yes, I believe Bioware publicly stated that the majority of CM revenue at the time came from subscribers instead of F2P or Preferred players.

They did lose a lot of subs and they dont publish sub numbers any more. I am confident they are making plenty of money. is it enough? only EA knows. so the game is not dead, but could be doing better. there is always room for better.
