Preferred are NOT Subscribers however.

True. But...

I haven't read the whole thread. So I have no idea if they were initially talking about subscribers only. But the part I read was talking about F2P player purchases.

edit: reading back a bit further it was about subs. However I was addressing the quote TUXs put in "F2Pers are NOT the ones buying the most stuff from the CM". Which they can't be, cause once they buy something they aren't F2P anymore.

Maybe we should take a page form Bioware's book and go slack off too. Enjoy ourselves and get away from the boring and stressful. It is summer after all.

Initial point was centered around the possibility that MOST of the CM-revenue came from Subscribers, not so much Preferred or F2P.

Yes, I believe Bioware publicly stated that the majority of CM revenue at the time came from subscribers instead of F2P or Preferred players.

My apologies. I know of whom you refer.

I grew up in the 70's and we called them binky's. So it's not that new.

Helps to keep perspective in mind in these debates.

As to the Dulfy comment, I would take that with a big grain of salt. Her guild shattered with her at the center of the storm leading to her changing servers. I would be feeling negative on the game after that as well.
when the game launched there were over 1.5 million copies sold. before they stopped publishing the numbers, the total subs were well under a million. why they all left, you can debate till the cows come home. The star wars IP is keeping swtor alive. its a popular, very well known IP. If this was "war of lazer swords" it very well might have been shut down, but a lot of people like star wars. The game most likely wont shut down unless the devs seriously mess up(like sw galaxies NGE), and even there it hung on in life support. They did lose a lot of subs and they dont publish sub numbers any more. I am confident they are making plenty of money. is it enough? only EA knows. so the game is not dead, but could be doing better. there is always room for better.
