Like we don't have enough people complaining they have "nothing new to do" as it is.. I can just imagine the slew of whining and complaints from those that make a char, instantly make it max level, spend a week doing the "endgame content" then are bored because there's "nothing else endgame to do" ...

And, no, it's not what people are asking for.
People are asking to pay money to skip training and jump into the big leagues, not to merge all the leagues together.

If endgame content is made totally available from the start, you will have jedi knights on the second fight of a raid asking "How did you jump to him?", because all they know is that attacking is right click, and having to be explained that they have an ability bar.

Actually, you'll be lucky when they even ask, most won't.
This^ anyhow people can debate both sides on their views but the thing most people don't understand is the technology markets and games change! or else there would still be arcades! movie marts, 8 track stereo, all in treble without Bass or electric guitars...

Hey, I didn't say it was a good idea, I was saying that was what people were asking for - skipping the progression and getting right to the endgame, where you have gone to gear acquisition progression. The fact that you'd have to put up with noobs isn't really relevant - you have to do that in all the games that the above posters so kindly named for us that have no real progression model except the purchase of more tanks/planes/mechs/whatever.

The fact that SWTOR has little endgame content makes the request to skip to endgame more ridiculous, not less.

So if Bioware decided to temporarily shut down SWTOR and re-release it with no story, no levels, and just content similar to existing max-level content, would you play it?

I do see your point, here is the problem however this is a very aggressive business, new next-gen games are bypassing the levelling process even now in this game they realize the collection system was brilliant marketing tool to get into people's pockets I am almost willing to say that more people Sit at the GTN then actually raid or quest, all you have to do is look at fleet population and try que for a group... PVP and KDY are pretty much the norm now because it's fast at Lvl 10-55 nothing wrong with that but if you go to almost any planet past a capital world there is one map with 30-40 people yet on fleet there is 3-4 maps of 170+ people... Makes you wonder what all those people are doing! Lol

It does indeed! It's unfortunate though, if that is the direction games are going (real money collections and no-challenge repeated content) then I won't be a gamer much longer.

Maybe so but it is now more of a expensive hobby than it is crack down Ballz to the Wallz mode.. Gaming within the last ten years has come from just wanting to pay for the bandwidth ie $15 sub fees to multibillion dollar corporations.. Sad but true

Would I play a "Star Wars: Dread Masters" MMO, telling the story of Dread Masters' defeat from TFB to Dread Palace over the span of 4 raids?

If it was free, and had a very short learning curve, maybe. But probably not, simply because I would've never even noticed its existence. And if yes, certainly not for 2 years.

It would certainly have to have a lot fewer abilities, probably just a single quickbar, maybe second for rarely used abilities, to keep the learning curve short, fewer specs, just one AC = one spec. Skip legacy binding, because if everyone has every class, all gear gets ninja'd; won't need crafting, since instant 180 would ruin the already short game. You wouldn't have companions anyway. Augment slots would be built in, augments and stims bought for commendations.

No crafting and everything bound means no use for GTN, cosmetic gear will be sold straight on CM, won't need speeders as they're disabled in most ops anyway. So the fleet will only need one section, Supplies, the four doors at North/S/W/E will be replaced by green walls straight into four raid instances. VIP section, containing Nightmare-only vendors, will be unlocked when all four raids have been completed on HM.
What we must fight for is to safeguard the existence of the Sith race and the Sith people, the glory of our children and the purity of our blood, the freedom and independence of the Empire, so that we may fulfill the mission allotted us by the Force itself. Everything must be examined from this point of view and used or rejected according to its utility.

Funny thing is though, I have been seeing a heck of a lot more characters with No AC and like level 20+?? In pvp and kdy... It's getting to the point it's nearly every other kdy, and almost every pvp match,... Or is it just me? It relates to the topic in my mind that people don't care about questing story and more about just doing what they can to level to cap?? Or am I just assuming?

We have some level 55s with no advanced class in our guild and plan to eventually bring the total to 8.

That is incredible but do they quest on planets or do they sit at fleet doing pvp and FP? People can play anyway they want I apologize for my generalization but most of the people see in pvp or KDY are looking to get carried to cap? Or am I still assuming!
