You don't have to pay for new content outside of buying the house. You can make your own stuff with some effort.

That actually remains to be seen. Nobody knows the recipes or ingredients or how the recipes are acquired.

You might not have to drop a bunch of credits on the most interesting things to be crafted for your stronghold. Then again, the rarest, most desirable pieces might require extremely rare things for which you need to pay a lot of credits or get lucky on rolls while raiding. Think the top end hilts and barrels and such.

But you probably will not have to drop a bunch of credits for the mundane things.

Top End Hilts and Barrels can pulled out and moved around and sent to alts so of course they would requires raiding mats.

But this seems akin to Aug Kits and Dye Modules and those arn't hard to craft at all.

But speculation on my end. The fact we can craft LS is already a plus in my book.

I'm talking about crafting the top end hilts and barrels, the things for which you need millions of credits worth of materials or, like I said, lucky rolls on raids. MMG's, Iso-5, and Exotic Element Equalizers might also be requirements in crafting things for Strongholds.

So LS, while craftable, might be very, very expensive to craft.

I expect LS crafting to be extremely expensive because I think BioWare expects demand to be high and therefore will do what it can to guide us toward purchasing it with Cartel Coins. I expect the Cartel Coin value for the basic LS to be 1,800 coins or more and would not be surprised at all if it was priced at 3,000 or more.

I could see it taking easily 8 million credits or more, or 8,000 cartel coins or more, to craft or purchase all bays (assuming there are bays) of legacy storage.

Well.. let's begin with what we know:

1) the unlock of the ability comes with purchase of a home, yes? And from a mechanics standpoint.. if they follow every other storage feature in game... that may mean we get an initial space, which we can further expand if we choose to by purchasing unlocks of additional space.

2) pricing is not known yet... but we do know that there will be multiple ways to obtain additional space -----> via credit purchase, via crafting (or purchase from other crafters), or via direct CM purchase.

3) Again, following the established mechanics in SWTOR for storage, we as players will be able to expand it incrementally, as the need/desire arises.

Will it be more/less/the-same then unlock prices for other storage.... probably... just like cargo storage expansion is more expensive then inventory expansion.

Personally, I will likely just purchase expansion unlocks directly off the GTN, for credits. These can be any combination of player crafted, or CM acquired, etc.

Whether it's 2M credits or 8M credits matters little me personally, and I would gather that for most veteran players with the need also have the income to do so... ESPECIALLY crafters.

And to the Threads premise.. LOL.... ALL storage expansion in this and almost every other MMO HAS TO BE PAID FOR BY THE PLAYER. SWTOR just gives the player more degrees of freedom in how to purchase.
When you find yourself surrounded by hostile Clowns... always go for the "Juggler" first.

Then why did you create an inflammatory thread topic when you're fully aware that there are ways to get legacy storage without using cartel coins?

You might want to actually look at who made this topic because it WASN'T Me.

Ok, so its still taken us this long to establish that you won't have to spend cc's in order to get legacy storage since crafters can make it meaning it can be bought and traded for credits and the CM option appears to be just a friendly alternative like for when buying inventory slots for our regular inventory box.

ok, well, that settles that, who wants to eat?

yeah hopefully in the next few streams they will tell us which crafters can actually make the item.
