Daily Runs and money totals

This morning on our server (Ebon Hawk) in fleet chat, there was some discussion as to how much money one can make doing daily quests. Most people thought the most one could make per day was at most #7 250K. Now, I had never actually taken notes while doing dailies, but I was pretty sure I could make #7 500K. Many of the people participating did not even know that Belsavis had it’s own daily run apart from Section X. Then of course, Trolls interjected by arguing both for and against anything just to make everyone confused…

So, I embarked on a fact finding mission of my own, because now I wanted to know.

I did not do any of the Weeklies at the locations. I just wanted to know the daily value. To calculate loot, I emptied my inventory before starting and vendored everything, including quest loot from lockboxes, etc etc. Any bio materials that I collected from plants and animals I also vendored.

Here is my break down.

I did not keep track of Faction gains, or the items that you get for quests that give you faction points because I am maxed out in everything but Oricon.

What I found enlightening for myself:

(others may have different priorities and disagree, so be it. The data is for you to make informed decisions)

A) Original Belsavis is indeed worth doing, if straight cash is your desire.

2) If you just want Faction points quick and dirty, skip Original Belsavis and Ilum.

Last) CZ-198 is almost not worth it unless you also do the Weekly.

D) It took me approximately from 9 am to 1 pm, including beverage, food, bathroom breaks, to run them all.

And) 500K spends in about 10 minutes at the slot machines on Nar Shaddaa.

So what was the total for all the dailies then?

(oh and it takes alot more than 10 minutes to use up 500 smuggler chips on nar shaddaa)

EDIT: and please stop using #7 for credits... it just looks wrong...

Maybe he doesn't know you can shift click buy them and is talking about how long it takes to buy 500? =P

And it took you around four hours in total?

that's a little over 125k per hour then.

Also, I think you forgot makeb. EDIT: And the GSI dailies

But it sure pokes a hole in the "PvE'ers make millions every day by doing dailies" argument that some PvP'ers use

I purposefully didn't do Makeb because personally, I think they suck.

And, my think about Nar Shaddaa was a joke.... a gambling joke. Meaning it's easier to spend than it is to make...

Well duh... I could buy grade 1 materials off the GTN for 500k in less than a minute...

Doesn't mean anything.

Also, you forgot the GSI dailies.

I guess it takes 3-3.5 hours total.

Honestly, if I did that in a night, I wouldn't have time to do anything fun that same evening anymore.

But then I get bored with dailies quite easily.

If you are like me, just stick to ilum and the black hole ones. You can face roll em daily and if you skip the heroics you do 100-150k easy in around 30 minutes and have fun doing other stuff after ;)

O for sure. If you did this full run every day, you'd get sick of not just Dailies, but the whole game, I bet. I just did it today to collect the data. Usually, I just run one or two of them and I rotate between them, usually to which ever ones happen to have the Weeklies open to me.

I just wanted to show that it was possible to collect 500K in a day. More if you did Makeb and GSI.

Breakdown of credits per minute spent doing dailies: (numbers in parentheses are with loot)

Belsavis: 1782,44 c/min (3278,04 c/min)

Section X: 1939.93 c/min (3441,53 c/min)

Black Hole: 2241,72 c/min (3063,2 c/min)

Illum: 3033,77 c/min (3417,04 c/min)

CZ-198: 2619 c/min (2794,42 c/min)

Oricon: 1450,38 c/min (1713,38 c/min)

So it is clear that Illum gives the best rewards per minute out of the dailies.

Unfortunately we don't have Makeb and GSI on the list because the OP didn't do those, but out of the old Dailies, Illum is the one to go for if you just want to do one per day to make credits.

Thanks OddBall, very help to see it that way.

Man, Oddball, you really are in a bad mood this weekend.

@OP: Thanks for the calculation. Such a pity that I cannot force myself to play any of these dailes ever again. (Luckily, I don't need to.)

Throat infection, ear infection and a fever will do that to people.

And dumb comments like "but it only takes 10 minutes to spend 500k on the slot machines" doesn't help.

You did not include weeklys, but you should, because almost everyone has 2+ 55s now and can do weeklys 2+ times.

Before I opened makeb for myself, I ran BH+secX+CZ+oricon, so:

100k - BH (20-30 minutes)

150k+ - sec X (30-40 minutes, if you found team for H4 fast)

80-100k - CZ (30-40 minutes, if teammates are not dumb)

150k+ - oricon (30-40 minutes if you do H2 fast)

Totally it's 2 - 2.5 hours to receive 500k. Additionally you got plenty of basic comms - you buy 2-3 isotopes (+250k). That's why you should not do any ilum/belsavis crap.

If you do this with 2 characters you totally get 1.5 million and spent 4-5 hours.

And once you did the weeklies?

Seriously, I can't stomach so much dailies, certainly not in one go. If you are fine with that, then you have a great guide, but for me after 30 mins of dailies I've had enough. I do however do the Oricon weekly a few times a week, that is certainly worth it and they don't bore me as much as a lot of the others.

You have great efficiency in your explanation but for me that sounds more like a chore than fun and that's just a personal thing.

4-5 hours of dailies? Ugh, no thanks.

Also, your numbers don't quite add up... unless you make 50k from just the weekly and heroic of course.

So, are you counting loot here or what?

If someone can stand doing ALL dailies in one day - then do ilum/belsavis, but even if you have done weeklies, doing bh/sec X is more profitable.

Isotope-5 from Basic comms is the money maker so excluding Makeb, GSI, and a few FP's that give Basics means you're missing out. If I grind for credits from dailies/FP's I take in over a million a day on one char. Next step is to play the GTN a bit with a few mil and you'll be making a lot more.

BTW, never spend more @ the casino than you can make from an Oricon run if you're on a budget.

Section X: Same here... his listing is 58k without the weekly and heroic... are you telling me the heroic and weekly give you around 100k?

Ofc I count all loot. For example when I do sec X I got 3-4 orange items that cost about 20k. Also I'm selling all rep trophies cuz I'm on the cap already, but they don't cost so much. HC and weekly give you 16k each, as I remember.

Profitable, efficient yes.

But I have an slightly different point of view because if I spend too much time doing things I don't find enjoyable it's not profitable for me as a person if you equate profit with enjoyment. I play to have fun. If that means I have to be less efficient or profitable in the sense of credits per minute, then that's a gain for me.

You seem to enjoy this work approach to gaming. That's fine, but there are other people who find other things more profitable to themselves if you get my meaning ;)

I don't enjoy it, and I don't find this profitable anymore. But if you lack 500k or million and wanna get them fast - that's it. Because running chests or bargaining GTN is too long.
