Overkill much?

Something to consider. Ranked PvP is Endgame for PvPers. As such, many players take Ranked very seriously and expect a minimal gear and skill level from the other participants in Ranked matches since it is a group format and their individual Rating is impacted. This is a reasonable attitude and expection considering the game content.

So the problem started there, and much of that fault falls on BW to be honest. Players shouldn't simply "try" endgame PvP, no more than they should "try" HM/NM mode endgame PvE Ops when not ready. Unfortunately, while it would be impossible for a player who is not properly prepared to enter a HM/NM Ops, BW has made it possible for anyone to queue for Ranked PvP. That's poor game design and a serious problem.

It's good to see that you are running Regz though. Regz are truly the ground for beginners to acquire gear, learn their classes, and develop some chemistry with others. If someone trolls you in chat, either ignore them or report them.

Lastly, if multiple players are criticizing your gameplay, that's likely a sign that you need to improve. The best thing to do in that regard is become a student of your AC(s). Study the materials and videos available to you that can help make you a better player. The SWTOR forums and YouTube are full of materials that can educate you on how to gear properly, play your class well, and provide in-game tactics and strats to elevate your gameplay.

I prefer to think of it as building a current opinion based on an historic fact.

I make a point of avoiding them in the game. If they happen to wander into a thread I am conversing in, I can't help that

Here's a "historic fact:" today my forum ignore list gained another entry.

Thread is about PvP. You enter thread and make claim about PvPers being jerks and sociopaths.

You could "help that" by leaving the thread alone. Let's not pretend you came in here, started some friendly discussion and then had to defend your position. No. You saw a PvP thread and purposefully entered it and made a highly derogatory, hostile and insulting observation, and THEN found yourself defending your statement.

You claim to have been a victim of aggression, insults and extreme condescension in game which turned your opinion sour of both PvPers and "Hardcores"

Yet you act this very same way in the forums in this very thread. This is called "hypocrisy"

The thread is about an OP who had a horrible experience in PvP. I related my opinion of PvP, and PvPers. If you have a problem with that, maybe you should learn not to take things said in a forum so personally. As for the rest of your armchair psycho-babble. I chucked it since it is offtopic and irrelevant.

I don't take anything in SWTOR seriously. The forum, or the game. It is just entertainment. But i have to wonder why this topic bothers you so much. I am free to dislike whomever I choose, particularly PvPers. The PvPers I've encountered are sociopaths. No real psychology to it.
