Ooooooooh. He's playing Operative.

My first experience with The Old Republic healing was actually tonight. When i respecced my level 47 Scoundrel to Sawbones. My Sentinel buddy was signing us up for Warzones and i barely had time to set my talents before we were in Voidstar.

I played that Voidstar match with squiffy binds.

I topped healing at 350k.

I had stacked up 3 deaths.

I'm going to say this now - I DID HAVE GUARD - It turns out there was a Guardian Jedi who had never so much as seen a Scoundrel, let alone a Sawbones, since he'd started playing in early access and he would be proud to follow me around and take the hits.

My match went mostly like this - Stealth into the fray. Spam Slow Release Meds. Spam Emergency Medicine while my HoTs ticked Upper Hand repeatedly.

Did i get attacked? Quite regularly. The second i left stealth they were on me like flies on... Honey. Between Dodge, that increased my movement speed, and Disappearing Act which made me disappear. I did alright. Defense Screen helped a lot too.

It's not just my defensive abilities that helped. Flashbang and Dirty Kick were sometimes the only thing standing between me and destruction. In fact, i used Flashbang a *LOT*

There *ARE* things to be angry over:
Horrific raid frames.
Clunky targeting.
Diminishing Returns being broken.
The odd Level 50s in full Expertise Gear.
Clunky combat. Which really DOES make it impossible to avoid interrupts.
My disgusting abuse of Upper Hand and instant no-cost heals.

But there are so few people healing with Expertise at the moment, that it isn't really fair to be angry at the Healing/Damage ratio in PvP.

I didn't mean this to end up this long >.> Sorry.

I just ran a Warzone without Guard and it was very much the same deal.
I healed, therefore i was...
...No, not a bucket of turkey. A healer.

I don't see why healers are crying they're underpowered because I'm watching these level 50 healers with PvP gear tank people like nothing. Throw a guard on them and you have one that is basically impossible to kill. Interrupts pretty much suck because you only knock out one ability for 4s and they just switch to their other heal. Expertise seems to only benefit healers because of the equal damage done+taken reduction.

Guard + healer + cc spam = have fun killing a healer.

2950 exp priest here.

Healing in warzones is hit or miss for me. If the UI is functioning, (eg: range and health levels updating, and actually listing all friendlies currently in the warzone) I seem to make a very small difference.

There are far too many stuns, interrupts, and CC's with only a very few counters. a 30% perma MS effect, means I rarely ever actually prevent a death. I may get off 3-4 flash heals, an instant hot, a shield maybe two, but they still die.

I don't feel as though healing is contributing much to the overall scope of the game.

It is simply too easy, and too effective to melee zerg assist target after target.

Furthermore, any system where 1 dps can solo a healer pretty much removes any reason to queue up as a healer. 2? Sure. 3+? absolutely.

Too many stuns, too much burst, too easy to zerg assist - no healing can prevent a death like that, renders healing feeling very poor, IMHO.

I know it's a fine line, and I'm less complaining, and more stating my opinion on how it feels to me.

I don't see TOR holding my interest in PvP healing, and I'd expect a year from now if nothing changes to see nothing but dps classes.

I play your exact clone for republic a scoundrel and i love healing, it takes 4 people to bring me down (i am 50), all you need to do is hot up yourself and run around hotting your allies, when you get focused pop your dodge and buble and throw up your AOE hot, when you get 50 get expertise gear and your healing is great

You suck as a healer then,

DERP

Do agree on the UI, but I make it work.

Also I do around 250 to 300k healing every match in my pre-made guild.

Guard on me and my bro as a tank = making people come on here and cry.

FTW.

I'm hardly bad or a beginner (2700 exp Resto Druid), but I can't even begin to describe how awful PvP healing is in this game. I won't even get into the raid frames and totally unresponsive targeting system. Right now my Operative is 44 so I have all my abilities and it's still crap. Every single random DPS baddie can easily knock off 30-50% of my health in a global so it's impossible to keep up and then you just get interrupted/cc'ed to hell. Juking the interrupt? Good luck figuring that out!

It's not a positioning issue. It's not a l2p issue either.

It's just not fun being completely helpless without serious peels and even then healing is totally underwhelming.

You know I used to think that pvp healing wasn't that bad, but now as people are gearing up.. it seems like heals cannot keep up with the damage i'm 50 with about 3 pieces of purple pvp gear.. and some expertise from lower level pvp weapons ..

if you're going up against a team of fully geared out pvp players the healing just cannot keep up the damage from one player is more then I can heal.. maybe this will change when I get fully geared.. but I think the 30 percent pvp healing nerf was a way to balance healers that didn't make sense @ end game.

I could be wrong will chime in again when I have more gear and see if it made a difference.
