It is unfortunate, certainly, but in the end the devs have to do what is best for the game IMO, and opening up these sets to the masses is one of those things.

Now, I think that changing the coloring or patterns a bit to make them visibly different would have been a wise move.
yes it would. But now that we have dye models they need to do more than change the color. They need to change the design a little bit too. I would still by mildly against that, but I wouldn't bother me too much. That would definitely have been a better move, just like they did with the new korrealis speeders. It was mildly sad, but it wasn't too bad. I'm fine with reskins, I just want them to stand out a bit. I don't think that is unreasonable for me to expect.

It only means nothing if you let it mean nothing (which is what you are doing and it's pretty pointless.)

Had you jumped on the "it hurts crafters" argument from the get go, you might have received more support. Because, in that regard I do understand the complaint. I'm not a crafter, but Bioware has repeatedly hurt the crafting market by putting items in the cartel market. I think that hurts crafting much more than being able to obtain a complete set of adaptive legacy gear that happens to look the same as battlemaster gear, though.

As for the argument that it's much easier to get than battlemaster, that's not exactly true. Or at least not as drastic as you make it seem. To get Valor 60, you have to be level 55. Then you have a few more wzs to get the rest of the way. To que for the Tactical FPs from which you can get Recovered Relics (which do not always drop), you have to be level 55. For the full set, you need 12 Recovered Relics. Meaning that at best, you're running those FPs a total of 12 times. And that's if you get a drop each time and win the drop against three other people each time. So, it's more than likely you'll need much more than 12 of the FPs to get enough Recovered Relics for the full set.

Yes, you can purchase the Recovered Relics. But, unless you have multiple level 55s with which to run dailies, you're unlikely to be able to afford them from the GTN. So, again, level 55s are almost a necessity, unless you're just buying from the CM and selling on the GTN to raise money, or doing a lot of crafting prior to hitting 55.

TLDR: you pretty much need to be level 55 for either Battlemaster or the Tattered Set. So, the "work" is pretty much the same either way.

And you're obviously the only smart person left on the planet. I mean, you're arguing with strangers on the internet about a video game. If that doesn't scream, "I'm a genius, hear my thoughts," then I don't know what does.
I'm not changing the augment. I'm just adding that in because I forgot to mention it earlier. I intended to also say it hurts crafting too in the beginning, but I got side tracked with the valor rank augment. I am upset for both of those reasons.

It never meant anything truth be told, since I doubt most people who play this game hardly care if you spent one hour or an eternity playing warzones.

It means nothing when players can't tell the difference. In this case they can't because they look exactly the same. Unless they inspect your gear which isn't very likely.

It's where someone goes on the PTS and datamines upcoming info that isn't ready to be seen yet and shows it to everyone. Bioware says it's against the rules so it's against the rules.

Yea, adding a few bits here and there, changing color patterns....the overall shape of the design is what folks desire, not the exclusivity through pay I would expect.

I think the majority of folks would be fine with minor changes that ensure that the suit that is sold can not be mistaken for the suit that is earned.

Best for all parties involved I think.

Why does it matter if they can tell the difference or not? I guess you missed the whole Dye thing..

Changes are not needed. It would be a pointless pursuit IMHO.

If people are that curious to see if someone is using the original Battlemaster gear, the crafted shells or the legacy Tattered ones, they can inspect the gear that people are using. If they're not that curious, I guess we can assume they don't even care that much.

In a perfect world however, Bioware should not even remove these armor sets to begin with.
