This thread really cracks me up. You know how we ran flashpoints back before I took a break? We didn't, because there was no group finder. I literally levelled 3 toons and never once set foot in a flashpoint.

Since I run tanks (and apparently have a high luck stat) I almost never have to wait long to queue, and I've only run into one group with a healer that wouldn't heal - and once we kicked them and the GF assigned us another person, we were golden.

I don't really care for the tactical flashpoint I've run so far (Kuat Drive Yards) because the DPS in the group just zerg through things as fast as they can with no strategy or forethought, leaving group members behind, etc. Regular FPs don't seem to suffer this problem.

My fear is that they're going to render the trinity obsolete at all but the hardest endgame content, and we'll have a game stuffed to the gills with mindless pugs swinging dual sabers everywhere but without a clue how to actually play. The snowball effect will occur, and eventually we'll be left with nothing BUT content that can be run by a full party of DPS characters. That would completely suck.

A lot of people had no interest in the leveling flashpoints, even before KDY, because leveling is very easy in this game and people can easily level solo without doing any pre-50 flashpoints. Also, you're better off going to a planet in the level range for the flashpoint and trying to form a group in general chat. Many people aren't going to sit in the group finder queue while leveling as they can't join any other groups while in the queue....so that means they can't do heroics with other people or team up for others for anything.

Why?

Shouldn't regular FP queue times have gone DOWN since KDY released? I mean...if there are 20 dps all queued for a FP, it may take a while to pop. But now there's KDY, so theoretically, at least half of that 20 (and likely more) of the dps are playing that, which leaves < 10 dps in the regular FP queue. Why would queue times go up?

I really dont know why. I am constantly telling people to stop doing heroics in leveling on home planets because by the time they find a group and they work to finish the heroic.. I have leveled 3 times. Its ok.. .if you love the story and want to experience it once.. but 1 time is enough.. after that its better exp to ignore the Heroics (unless you can solo it and even then the time better be fast) and just do the class and extra missions.

I love doing heorics (and FP's). I enjoy grouping. Tanking for my companion gets old after a while. Heorics let you take it to the next level. Mixes it up a little. Changes the play dynamiic. Introduces new challenges. I much prefer them over the boring solo side missions.

For most alts I roll now, I typically will only do class story, Heorics, and FP's. Besides, it's an MMO. If you want to play by yourself, go play Skyrim

For the challenge.

Some heroics are actually harder than flashpoints of the same level. There's one on Tatooine that my friend and I duo'ed (with companions, of course) and despite being 3-4 levels over, it was pure murderation. Groups of 5 golds and 3 silvers makes you really really plan CCs, kill order, and companion micromanagement.

Plus (for me anyway) Heroics make up the only content in the game I haven't seen a dozen times over.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I love grouping. I've gotten more XP in FPs on my current toon than anywhere else. I just have never observed that the time/reward was there for Heroics if I can just queue for FPs and run class/side quests in the meantime.

Well, H2+ is the only thing you can do individually with a companion (so if you don't fail other people), give a bit of a thrill, and a lot of them are way, way faster than an FP & you do not need to track to the Fleet. And it's right there... yeah. Good stuff.

(1) There is an achievement for the heroics on each planet. Some people may want the achievments.

(2) Some people can do the heroic 2 with just them and a companion so they do it since it is right there.

(3) Some people are leveling with someone. Some people play and level with someone so they can do the heroics.
