If you have 22 characters on one server, I don't think they have any reason to worry about keeping you interested in the game.

Seems a bit odd to make it an event. It's not like the casino close when the event is over. Other than that i cant find anything bad to say realy. Well, other than i would have preffered a game you could play against a friend.

Five years from now, we'll still keep reading this kind of stuff... "Baby steps, baby steps".

Seeing that I have no interest whatsoever in relocating to another server, your assessment is rather incorrect.

Indeed. Feels rather arbitrary not to make it a permanent feature... It's not like the Casinos are closing shortly after, is it?

I'm curious about the certificates. What kind of gear will you be able to get with these certs? It sounds to me that there will be an event vendor that handles this and thus the "event" moniker.

I'm looking forward to it because I'm also of the opinion that this a build block for minigames.

Slots? I guess that's a good start. At least now I have a way to gamble against pure luck for in-game items without paying RL money for a hypercrate.

Still waiting on card games to gamble on Bioware.

There is a reason for that ------> MMOs ARE baby step progressions of content over the years of the life cycle of the game.

Need instant gratification? -----> stick with console games and buy a new one every week.
Negativity achieves nothing positive or productive. It's hostile and it reveals a persons true character. It's a useless and miserable way to spend one's time, IMO ... but some people like being miserable I guess. This is true in real life and it is true inside MMOs.

Sooo what you are saying is, it will be a one time only event then. :P

If this is true (not to insinuate the OP is dishonest, far from it, just like to see it with my own eyes) this is a smart way to test the waters, so to speak.

Ah, yes. "[Game Feature X] is just a ruse to get you to waste your [currency] so that you don't have [currency] to use for [Game Feature Y]"

Why do people flop this out with pretty much every game feature? I mean, a month ago someone claimed that Strongholds was just a way of draining coins so that people would buy coins when the next expansion/race/cartel-gear was released. So, why do we care if it drains credits that we were going to use for something that was just draining coins for something else that --if we're honest with ourselves-- we were just going to claim was draining credits/coins for something else in the future.

Let's ignore the fact that credits are really easy to build up once you've got a Level 55 character, and that Bioware is actually handing a significant gift with Strongholds that will save subscribers from spending a lot of credits/coins that people seem so torn about the value of.

How about this? How about we all spend credits and coins on stuff that amuses us, and quit trying to make up some conspiracy that Bioware is trying to force us to spend credits/coins on [thing we don't like] instead of [thing we do like in the future]. Or, maybe I like spending on both? Who care's which one I spend credits on so long as I enjoy it? Or maybe I don't. It's just credits. I can have another million next week just by running dailies.
